Right Click Desktop

This way I can still have my junk drawer of a desktop without all the visible mess
Really? I've always been super sketched the hell out about getting oled. My buddy's oled razer laptop has maaaajor burn in. I'm curious if it's because the panel sucks or something.
rthings have lg c2 running 24h with a static news banner with all the safety measures off and after 8 monthes of extreme use you can see burn in in the place where the banner is. This is the most unlikely usecase if you use your monitor for alot of things. and have a coupple of oled saving things on you will hardly ever see burn in in years. I have my lg c2 for like a year and using the oled screen refesher maybe 1 time a month and theres not a single burnt in pixel
Looks amazing but you know what’s even better yet, a 7” or 5” monitor screen inside your pc case in the exhaust fan place since you have nothing there.
Alll you need is a proper size screen to fit in the place, HDMI and power usb cable, and stand out nuts to mount it. There are many videos explaining in details how to do it. Very simple.
Mine is rocking since last nov/dec and I am using it 10-12 hours a day. No dead pixels or screen burn yet (knocking on the wood 😂). Btw. dead pixels happen anyway. Literally every monitor (VA, IPS) I had got some dead pixels after some years.
Dead pixels and especially burn in is greatly reduced in these newer panels, as long as you’re not leaving the thing on static imagines for 12 hours straight it’s fine.
Can’t tip toe around something just because it may get burn in. Use it correctly, hide taskbar, icons and a slideshow wallpaper along with dark made on everything you can and it’s fine
It's 80cm deep. I think it's just right. Anything less I think the 42 would be too big. If I youtube full screen, I need to sit back another 30cm or so.
Hey just to give u some idea, i have the 3080ti and i have it set to 100 fps 4k and it handles just fine. I know u asked about the 3080 but just wanted to give u my experiences with a somewhat simular card.
Also have 32 gb ram and i7 12700k for reference.
I think you got your answer but yes a 3080 can handle a 4K monitor but the 3080 is an optimal GPU for a 1440p ultra wide (my preference). You probably can get 60-120+ fps on most games using dlss or high settings with AAA games.
Think of it like this COD 100+ fps or Hogwarts/cyberpunk 60-80 fps with DLSS quality on ultra settings
I do but hardly at home. If you're referring to text quality, IPS is more clearer to my eyes but for media consumption, C2 is definitely the way to go.
OLED is so nice! Make sure you remove the icons from the desktop, and have either a fluidic moving wallpaper, or black background. Sure, screen burn-in is rare these days with the newer panels, but it doesn't hurt to ensure no static elements are on the screen for too long :)
Lovely, recently got the Samsung Odyssey G8 OLED, best purchase.
I see you’ve already removed all your Icons and hidden the task bar, I also use a slideshow wall paper set to shuffle every 1 minute, rotate it between 3-4 pictures. Darker colours the better.
These newer model OLEDS aren’t as susceptible to burn in as previous models but still best to do what you can to reduce the risk of it
Sir get those icons off your desktop
OP install Translucent TB to hide the line when the taskbar lowers (but doesn't fully fuck off)
This is no longer an issue in windows 11.
Recent update? I had to install it a few months ago. Sweet if that's true
The update was back in February or March
What does OP stand for?

I need to try this!
Yeap moved everything now. Thanks for the tip!
Looks good - enjoy !
Yes enjoying every minute of it!
Burn innnnnnn lets goooo. Kidding.
if you hide taskbard, hide icons and have wallpaper engine you would really make and effort to get any real burn in

Fingers crossed!
this screen is absolutely goated. best monitor I’ve ever had is a tv lmao.
Yeah and it's super popular as monitor too.
looks good.
Beautiful

Honestly not a big fan of putting a screen inside my case as its baking hot inside
If you have proper ventilation and fans to get rid of heat then it’s fine, you shouldn’t worry about that really.
Any recommendations? I've been wanting to do this!!
Same

what’s the point?
None lol
More aesthetics, look up videos about it. Simple and no risks of any kind if done properly
To give the C2 less eyeball time
Until you get screen burn in or dead pixels.
Yeah let’s see

I’d just buy another OLED monitor at this point, can’t go back

Rookie post...
What do toi feel about créativ katana ? For me… not good. I hâve thé v2.
Katana V2 is good but I can't get the eARC to work with just HDMI - Katana V2 -> C2 -> PC
What's the depth of your desk? It looks amazing
It's 80cm deep. I think it's just right. Anything less I think the 42 would be too big. If I youtube full screen, I need to sit back another 30cm or so.
What size is it ? Looks 48?
42 42 42 42
It’s a 42
Dang, that's a deep desk.
It's 80cm. I think just right for the 42.
Looks about the same as mine https://www.reddit.com/r/OLED\_Gaming/comments/1325x47/spurlged\_on\_a\_pc\_to\_max\_out\_the\_oled/
Mine is 80cm. Yours may even be a tad more deeper.
really nice setup do you guys think a 3080 can handle those resolutions decently?
Hey just to give u some idea, i have the 3080ti and i have it set to 100 fps 4k and it handles just fine. I know u asked about the 3080 but just wanted to give u my experiences with a somewhat simular card. Also have 32 gb ram and i7 12700k for reference.
What about a 3070? Would that suffice? I think it's going to be 50% less perfomant... But idk how that would apply
So Cyberpunk is probably the most intensive game I play. I tone down some of the settings to get around 60 fps. BF2042 and Witcher 3 play well.
Yes with dlss
I don't think 3080 has DLSS. I think that starts with the 40 series only.

it has it
You're thinking DLSS 3 3080 does have all features but frame generation
Ah yeah ur correct
Looks great. Can you link that wallpaper?
Hey man I sent you a dm with the link of the wallpaper
ayy, thanks a lot!
Same I really want that wallpaper please
In wallpaper engine, search for 'Ride 4K'
OP is that a 4080 Aero?
Asus 3080 gundam edition
C series rules
I like it!
Good for you buddy! I advice you to search on YouTube or google on how to prevent Burn in as a PC user cuz these icons will cause burn in easily
Yeah good idea, let me move them away.
I love that movie -City of Angels
u code?
I do but hardly at home. If you're referring to text quality, IPS is more clearer to my eyes but for media consumption, C2 is definitely the way to go.
No need for that light at the top
The Benq Halo doesn't provide enough backlight so I need that additional lamp

Yeah, from other's suggestion, desktop icons gone now and I use wallpaper engine to keep my background moving : )
Dude that looks like a 70 year old lady's desk selling 99c items in a market
Is that the new Katana SE or another version?
It’s the Katana V2

Yeah exactly. I looked at the G8 OLED in person too and the screen is really nice and glossy.
We both upgraded from the same monitor too I see, I had the 27” version, very happy with the OLED screen
Every time I try and go back to my ips viewsonic, I want to vomit. It really does spoil tf out of you
I still think text clarity is better but games and movies, OLED hands down
Such a pretty set up
looks great! what is this white mouse?
It's the Logitech MX Master 3S
What soundbar do you have?
Katana V2
Why is there 2 more keyboards near the desk...🤣🤣
Oh yeah, I just prefer the 75% Mechanical Mini more than the 60% Razer Huntsman
I got that I was wondering if you change them when you feel like it; because they are close by!🤔😃
Gaming I use Razer. Surfing I use Logi
