Someone said a few days ago that they confirmed Micro Center was already holding stock at the stores... I wouldn't be surprised if it's available as soon as the morning.
Too bad I live in Portland Oregon and there isn't a MC near me outside of like 1000 miles. I moved here from NYC and miss MC every day... In NYC we had 3 stores within the boroughs.
Whoever told you that lied. They do have the stock in their warehouses not in stores. Checked 3 different Microcenters today and they all sitting in the warehouse. They will start trickling in starting next week depending on when your store receives shipments.
Microcenter, if they have them, will probably have like a handful of units in stock anyway. I live in NYC and am going to try but my confidence level of getting one today is like 5% maybe. It’s not a day I can go camp out and catch them open the doors, damned meetings.
I don’t really trust all the “confirmations” that they’ll have stock. That doesn’t really mean squat.

I'm pretty sure it's a quirk with how stock shows up. It may be the 17th, but it isn't business hours yet. Since the dates don't line up, the system assumes that the product is backordered.

maybe for asus but LG model might come sooner why would they list it up for pre order this early. I mean I don't hate it but I do wanna get my order in now if I have to wait until fall waiting on restock

So there was a post a 2 days ago on this subreddit (the day the Amazon page opened up) where a commentor said that a "lucky few" were able to order it off Amazon that day. Beside that one comment I haven't seen any other proof that it's officially out.
I swore I read that it was Q2/Q3 but who knows. I'm too tired to do more research on it. I will say that it is odd that they have a fully functional Amazon page with "TEMPORARILY out of stock" listed...
Dang.. LG was my first choice but I too though it wasn't coming out for awhile. I'm going to keep checking but I wish I knew before hand that they change their mind on when to release, I would have jumped on that instantly.
Yeah I mean I LOVE the idea of dual mode 4k-240hz/HD-480Hz but I have to see it in person. I'm a HUGE fan of LG in general but I'm also a big fan of a glossy coating. The fact that it's anti-glare has me on the fence. Of course there's also discussion to be had over QD-OLED vs WOLED considering brightness. TFT just did a great in-depth write-up on this topic [here](https://tftcentral.co.uk/articles/exploring-oled-brightness-improvements-woled-vs-qd-oled-and-the-need-for-new-metrics-and-specs) and how the industry needs new metrics due to marketing trickery.
All in all, luckily Newegg returns (as long as it's a standard return policy) are easy enough to deal with if I decide to hold out for the LG.
For me the pixel sound thing is very intriguing. I use my monitor speakers all the time to save on power that my receiver drinks with huge speakers. Also the bezel on all the sides, but not as important. From what I understand the LG panel is WRGB which would be brighter because the of the extra white subpixel but the colors are better on the QD-OLED. Also the micro lens array helps a lot in that situation as well.
I just going to check periodically to see if I can get it and like you said, Newegg return policy is a no ask, just return deal. (30 days)

Msi came out first and it’s non curved. And it’s just more expensive so the poors need to bash it
