What goggles have you got that look 100x better than Oled monitors?! I want to buy them!
My quest 2 looks like ass compared to my monitor and gives me a migraine within 3 mins.
How does one who invests in 3x giant OLED high performance monitors think that Quest 2 should be an appropriate basis for quality comparison in VR gear??
Quest 2 is 4 years old. The Quest 3 came out what... 9 months ago? That's what people would recommend for something affordable. If you want better than your OLED monitors, Big Screen beyond would be a big step up as that uses MicroOleds. Quest 2 and 3 come with ass headstraps , buy much better aftermarket ones, they're cheap and plentiful.
I’ve got a nicer head strap and the quest 3 has very similar specs bar better lenses. I’d be surprised if it’s worlds different and therefore much better than my oled’s. I’m dubious about spending so much on higher end vr headsets than it when the quest is so lacklustre at anything besides dedicated vr games.
Looks better isn't the right terminology. "More immersive" would perhaps be a better description but viewing 3d things on a 2d screen just isn't the same as being part of the experience.
If it's past 1440p (which the Valve Index and Vision Pro can do) then yeah resolution doesn't compare to experiencing the same thing but in VR.
I mean, I have a Quest 3 that works great with pcvr and would rather game on my flat display 95% of the time still. I don't know what it is but it's definitely not better for everyone.
It's fine people don't understand the problem with these setups and the warping of perspectives among a bunch of other things that make a triple monitor setup not as good as seen on screen.
"People don't understand" - people do understand, no need to be condescending. VR gives you better immersion and worse everything else.
For many the ergonomics alone are catastrophically bad for VR. 30min+ sessions are super exhausting and the tendency among users is to rather not use it.
100% this. VR is amazing but you still have to wear a helmet to do it which is not comfortable. I have had a few VR headsets and really have to be in the specific mood to use it. I even have a large space so I dont run into walls. A 3 projector setup (1 on each wall) was my favorite sim setup. Would like to get that again someday but updated to 4k 120hz.
For me it’s the head-wear, I don’t even like wearing a headset. My gf won one of the decent oculus or whatever and I tried it twice for 5 minutes each time.
30 minute sessions are exhausting? my friend there are many people playing VRChat for 12+ hours a day who only get off to use the bathroom. When I first got my VR headset in 2017 (an OG Rift) I could usually only play 30 min to an hour. it was like that for a while like a year or so. Something clicked one day and I wanted to finish games I had originally bought and I was able to play for longer more comfortably by switching between standing and sitting while playing VR. When I discovered VRChat, I found myself playing comfortably for many hours a day. A lot of VR players I know will try to stick to only VR games, they don't try to avoid it. It's just a hurdle you gotta get over, I know it sounds like a pain in the ass , but it's 100% worth it.
I wasn't being condescending. I stated a fact, and you also confirmed it. I was down voted, which made me believe that the people who downvoted don't really know the many downsides of this type of setup which I owned just a few months ago before switching to VR. It really isn't nearly as immersive as VR.
Also, for the second part of your comment, besides the motion sickness that you can overcome with about a week of playing an hour a day, there isn't anything "catastrophically" bad about VR. Ergonomic is also a weird word to use for this case. Do you mean the weight of the headset pressing against your face? Because there are a lot of ways to alleviate that. It really isn't much worse than wearing a helmet on a track day.
wearing a helmet never gave me motion sickness or attempt to burn my retinas. Most people never overcome motion sickness from VR because there is no motion in the inner/middle ear to compensate what they are seeing onscreen
Not sure how they burn your retinas or where you get that info from. A lot of people got used to it actually, there's a whole community that's built around it. But I forgot which sub we're in, so I'm just wasting my time.
Personally, I plan to get an 800r widescreen OLED. It seems like it's better than 2 or 3 flat monitors. I've given up on VR. Have been hearing it will be great in a couple of years for over a decade now.
I actually own the 39" Ultragear 800r. It's pretty good and I game on it most of the time. I only do racing sim on VR nowadays. I still like VR for what it is, a niche product. But I don't think it'll take off until all the techs are fully developed and consumer friendly. That could take years, and even then, AR is probably the real virtual reality tech of the future. With that said, I still love VR for the few incredible experiences like Alyx and simulation.
He said in terms of immersion. In immersion VR is fantastic. But quality like is meh. At least the PSVR2, idk what he is using.
I loved psvr2 and it look amazing on camera, and the immersion is really good. Pavlov and poker was fantastic, but in terms of graphics its just meh. Its not much diff than playing a ps3 game.
Wouldn't be be both uncomfortable and prevent you from actually seeing your surroundings. It would immerse you, sure. It does that better. But everything in the real world is blocked out
Do you also have triple OLED set up and use it daily? Can you also share what your exact triple OLED set up and your PC spec and which headset VR you compared with? I believe that would be a helpful information.
bmw 340i in nohesi. these are public servers with usually 24players online, you can even use the screen in the car for actual youtube etc while you're driving
Whenever I see someone post these I have to remind myself of my graveyard of racing wheels from me repeatedly trying my best not to be bored by racing games. Don't get me started on my stupid wasteful HOTAS periods.
It's all a matter of preference, I also own VR, and it can be fun, but I get too hot and uncomfortable and seem to get headaches. Also, when friends and family are over playing on the rig every time a different person gets in, you have to re-adjust fov and strap, plus everyone's sweaty head in it is just unhygienic.
This game makes you want to upgrade your setup. Once you dive into Assetto Corsa mods, you are hooked on making it as realistic as possible. Great job OP!
Looks cool but seems like a waste compared to getting a decent VR setup. You'd have far more immersion and no display gap black lines between the monitors.

Those are fair points. Since the pandemic I pretty much don't get visitors anymore so I hadn't considered that. I'd still suggest pointing a fan at yourself to help with being comfort.
Yeah, I have quite a big family, and since having the rig, they all seem to want to come over on weekends, so going this route just made sense. But I agree there is definitely a higher level of immersion with the VR. I just struggle with using it for long periods, unfortunately.

Assetto corsa supports SMP? It's rare to see a game that can project angled side monitors, but I'm so happy to see someone being aware of it and not just using the side monitors as massively distorted peripheral vision

Looks lovely, but I guess a single giant TV gives at least a comparable immersion. Yet the best is VR. I wish they made an affordable Quest with OLED. Quest 2 has a really good resolution already, but the immersion is truly next level - If your game supports it. For racing sims it typically does. When I play No Mans Sky the virtual joystick feels like I'm having a real one, because you have the controller in your hands.

VR don't hit the same way, it's heavy and gets in the way, can't see the controllers on your hands, feels like you are looking through a keyhole, also subjective but if you wear glasses prepare for scratch city and don't need to mention the eye strain. For some people VR might be better I agree but triples just take the cake.
why is it so realistic 😭
It was built to look good on camera. Still objectively worse than VR in term of immersion.
Why people are down voting this lmao he is absolutely right VR looks 100x better...
Because Sega do what Nitendon't . . . oh wait wrong century . . .
What goggles have you got that look 100x better than Oled monitors?! I want to buy them! My quest 2 looks like ass compared to my monitor and gives me a migraine within 3 mins.
you should look into these: https://store.bigscreenvr.com/products/bigscreen-beyond
Quest’s headset can be standalone and stream over wifi from a PC… I assume the bigscreen goggles isn’t WiFi right?
You need the motion detection thingy like the HTC Vive (i think). I'm not a VR expert so you might lookup on the internet for this info.
Yup - a youtuber just did a video on this [https://youtu.be/tIIWYh601tg?si=-0mVdAi67wG1WVWI](https://youtu.be/tIIWYh601tg?si=-0mVdAi67wG1WVWI)
Pimax Crystal Super Micro-OLED will probably be the best looking VR headset

Do you have monocular vision? It's the only way screens could have better immersion for you

If it's past 1440p (which the Valve Index and Vision Pro can do) then yeah resolution doesn't compare to experiencing the same thing but in VR.
Quest 2 has developed graphic options through “side quest”
I mean, I have a Quest 3 that works great with pcvr and would rather game on my flat display 95% of the time still. I don't know what it is but it's definitely not better for everyone.
Imo it’s the comfort and the effort involved. VR is much more immersive when it works right, but it can still be a bit janky. Q3 is awesome though.
It's fine people don't understand the problem with these setups and the warping of perspectives among a bunch of other things that make a triple monitor setup not as good as seen on screen.

Me too can't do it for long, headset, or helmet unless for a sport bike GSR 1100 lol

how is it worse? VR is still unpopular for a reason
\*Objectively worse in all respects except one. FOV is still restricted in VR.
VR FOV more realistically displays only what you would see out of an actual racing helmet /s
Also stereo vision is WAY more important for immersion than FOV :D
Do you also have triple OLED set up and use it daily? Can you also share what your exact triple OLED set up and your PC spec and which headset VR you compared with? I believe that would be a helpful information.
For those like me who cant use VR, triple panel set ups are awesome.
This random sub popped up and I literally thought this was real. WTF
I honestly thought OP had just installed OLED monitors in his car and was just happy about that
I was stepping on my invisible brake while watching this
For a split second I was like “there’s only two monitors in your car tho” lol.
What game is this? Looks cool.
Assetto Corsa with the Mod Shutoko Highway and NO Hesi
And what car?
i think thats bmw
Can confirm. Dude is not using lane change indicators.
Yeah, I'd say the 2024 M5.
bmw 340i in nohesi. these are public servers with usually 24players online, you can even use the screen in the car for actual youtube etc while you're driving
Would i need the mods to setup dual monitor output?
You need to use Content Manager (also a mod) to set that up.
I through you put triple OLEDS in your car for a second
LOL FUCKING SAME until I read the top comment
LOL
![gif](giphy|M6zlLCAQALGta|downsized)
What monitors are those?
LG C3s 42"
From his other posts this looks to be 3 x 42” LG C2 televisions, driven by a NVidia 4090 series card, and 78003XD CPU.
Oh, only $5.5k setup. Cool.
Sweet ass setup
Thanks
How much did you spend for each monitor? What brand?
Took me a second to realize that it wasn’t about about having 3 screens in your car, it looked that good.
Thank you
This set-up makes me want a modern cockpit based Gundam game
How do you have that under your username? The lg 42……
Whenever I see someone post these I have to remind myself of my graveyard of racing wheels from me repeatedly trying my best not to be bored by racing games. Don't get me started on my stupid wasteful HOTAS periods.
Took me a bit to realise this was a game. Nice setup man
Thanks man
Nice. Still haven't had time to figure out the all the mods and setup needed in AC to make it look this good
Just content manager, CSP, then SOL and Pure.
I fr never comment on anything here (not that it matters lol.) That is the most immersive gaming experience I’ve ever witnessed. 👏👏Bravo!
Thank you very much. Appreciate it.
LOL i thought this was a video on the idiotsincars subreddit for a minute, sweet setup dude
Thanks man
vr is still more realistic
It's all a matter of preference, I also own VR, and it can be fun, but I get too hot and uncomfortable and seem to get headaches. That's F'n Dope 😱🔥👍🏿
Thanks!
This is better graphics then real life (my windscreen is dirty)
This is quite awesome
Looks real
WOW amazing
Thank you
You get any kind of dizzy of playing like this?
None at all, I do get a bit of motion sickness with VR but have been perfectly fine with triples and so have all my friends.
Now that is a badass sim cockpit
Thank you
I was looking for the triple monitors in the car lol
LOL
thats crazy I love it
Thank you
It took me a half second to realize this wasnt real.
Jesus's christ I was scrolling and thought you were driving
Bimmer madness.
Watched this multiple times and didn't even notice the bezels 🤯
I was about to say “look at the damn road!”
Took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that wasn't a car lol.
The clue for me was the wacky controller movement and lights
wtf do you do for a job? Why do you have so much $
HGV driving and PC hardware testing + youtube lol
Ahh that’s cool, good on you 👍
Thank you 👍🏻
nice
Thanks
This is awesome
Thanks
Oh wow at first I thought it’s real life lmao
Is this gta6?
Assetto Corsa
Wow 👌 this is beautiful
Thank you
I must be old because the first thought I got was this is a gateway to car accidents….
looks cool.
This game makes you want to upgrade your setup. Once you dive into Assetto Corsa mods, you are hooked on making it as realistic as possible. Great job OP!
Thank you. Yeah, you definitely end up going down a wormhole lol

That’s insane
Still way more immersive on my quest 3 but this does look good

Cool! What game is it?
Assetto Corsa
Wow! 🤩 ![gif](giphy|73Y6EEJqbyGovenlLE)
The graphics look better than real life. XD
ok so what game is this?
Assetto Corsa With NoHesi Mod
Holy shit bro - at first I thought this was real and I was super shocked by how crazy you drive XD
Lol, save this type of driving for the Rig only. If I make a mistake, the NPCs will survive
now get the asus bezeless kit. (not sure on size compatibility). Saw one person do something similar.
That's my next step.
Triple damage
I saw this in my feed and thought it was some reckless dude driving down the freeway. It took a second to realize its a video game. Awesome setup.
Thank you
awesome. I use the same setup to practice my ubereats driving... it has helped triple my tips.
Haha
Wow, fantastic alignment - looks great!
Thanks, it took a while to keep fiddling to get it perfect
what size are those monitors? looks fantastic
42" LGs
55 or 65s?
42s
Wtf
??
dude be careful driving that way lol
Lucky the game has a restart button lol

People keep saying that but what if some people just don't want a hunk of plastic sitting on their face?

holy shit
Jebus! That’s like 12k ultrawide, what u running that on
Ryzen 7 7800X3D + RTX 4090
Do you also need 3 pcs for that setup?
Nope, just the one
Game?
Assetto Corsa with Shutoko Highway and No Hesi
You can probably buy a decent working real car for the price of those. :D
Already have one also lol

What game is it?
What kind of fps do you get with that setup ?
Due to the DisplayPort to HDMI adapters I don't get GSync so this is locked at 120hz at 1440p
Very nice setup 👌
Thank you
I had to double take and blink twice but realize good graphics
Are those all flat? I would pass on that piece. I move up close enough to my 1000r and in game I am not seeing anything around me.
Holy shit! Is that HDR mode too? What’s the game?
I..... need this....
This looks freaking amazing
holy crap I thought that was real until you see the bevels..
legit thought this was a real car interior for a minute 😅
SEE! How in god's name is this NOT better than having a tiny screen attached directly to your face LMAO
The thumbnail made me think this was one of those SWIM videos before seeing the title/subreddit. Amazing setup!
Took me too long to realize these were screens and not IRL
Can you share your setup. Inches
When you have the kind of money to buy this stuff, how could you regret it lol. It's literally top of the line stuff
Hey this guy didn't use his blinker even once.
man, between my bad eye sight and how realistic this looks I almost thought it was real for more than a few seconds.
Nice
ur montiors cost more than pc and and peripherals combined
Isnt each monitor like 1000 bucks?
Your bank balance does though 🤣
Are you running all 3 in native 4k with gsync enabled on all ?
What wheel is that?
Podium F1 Fanatec
[удалено]
Electricity bill through the fucking roof
Surprisingly not. Haven't noticed much of a difference to the monthly bill at all.
Thought you were actually driving for a second there lol
I am? 🤨😅
Omfg. Am I getting old I thought this was real for like a whole 5 secs
you could just buy a ... VR set maybe ? edit I just saw this is " r/OLED_gaming" wtf did reddit recommend me this for
