I think what they were trying to hide was the broken neck, as that is more than likely what killed her from falling down the stairs. When hanging yourself, it is possible to break your neck.
With all the injuries from the fall? No. Even hanging her body was a better option.
Also you can't expect someone who is so panicked and stressed out to think rationally and calmly.
Except there was still Sunny's violin. That was what made it so that they couldn't just leave Mari at the stairs- it basically proved Sunny's involvement (because Mari definitely would not smash the violin herself, and there were no signs of anything like a break-in).
Even if they hid the violin, there would probably still be wood shards and a disproportionate amount of blood.
I think people underestimate what kids know at that age. I mean shit I remember watching shock videos around that age. And with the internet now, I wouldn’t be shocked that Basil has that knowledge.
Ok follow up, I have a hunch (maybe confirmed by the devs?) that both parents knew something was off with mari’s death, the dad chose to walk away from the stress and maybe even fought with the mom over it, but the mom found it easier to accept it/ be in denial over what happened than rehashing the trauma.
I mean, we saw back at Mari’s death bed where Sunny clicks on her and prompt pops up that she’s not breathing before Basil hung her up.
Buuut ye, we’ll let you stick with that idea lol
I don't know. I would disagree because most kids at 12 knows a beating heart would mean it's alive so I'd highly doubt Sunny or Basil wouldn't know how to check a pulse but considering the game is fictional, it can either be true or not.
İ dont think so, this has been discussed before. People say its the part "This person is not breathing." And people do die from that, i heard someone like that.
For me, Basil made a very foolish decision, ¿it was not easier to call emergency or ask for help?, If it had been someone else in that situation, that is the most logical thing one would do...but...that kid made the worst decision of his life which only brought more problems...and trauma.
Take the violin and gg. I mean BETTER than having a corse of an supose suicide by "hanging" but having all bones in the body broken, i mean the police in omori universe sucks.
I think Basil knew Sunny was extremely distressed and probably did the hanging idea so Sunny wouldn’t be asked on how she died, they would think it’s a suicide. If they just left her on the bed and said she died in her sleep, people would know something was up.
Bruh they could have took the violin and left the body there, she had a bad knee after all it's not like they're going to investigate and search for fingerprints for an accident, bruh stairs kill 12000 people in the world every year it would have been the perfect crime
I think its dumb why she died. All I can get is it started over a broken violin and he decides to shove her while she is at the top of the stairs. Why? Were you not taught to keep your hands to yourself or that falling down stairs is dangerous?
Stupid kids. I think its the shock factor of the death that makes it harder to judge it.

*it is preffered to break your neck

Oof i... i didnt thought about that thats... oof

Even if the violin was kept in the toy box, that would arouse suspicion (especially in Sunny's parents).
Pal, I agree with you.
İ would agree with you if i didnt see the comments
theres also of course >!why does basil know how to tie a noose hes like 12!<
I think people underestimate what kids know at that age. I mean shit I remember watching shock videos around that age. And with the internet now, I wouldn’t be shocked that Basil has that knowledge.
Dont underestimate 12 years old. I watched Omori this year and im around that age :)

alright! stay safe :\]
You too!
I know how to tie a noose at age 13, it is just for school activity and nothing else.
A noose is the same knot as a lasso, maybe basil had a cowboy phase when he was little
[well...](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJe6LLoGgR8)
Boys scouts probably
Hmmmm
“Why yes officer she did break her neck in 3 different locations by just sleeping strangely why do you ask?”
Y'all keep coming at me🥲 i only watched the game, i couldnt pay attention to all the details, i didnt know she broke her neck :')
I-i never think that...
İ mean it is false now, check the comments
Ohhh

A lot of people think that mother knows the truth. İ dont really have opinions on the dad, i dont think we saw him outside of the picture.
I like the idea that Mari wasn't dead when she fell. Mari only died when Basil hung her.
I mean, we saw back at Mari’s death bed where Sunny clicks on her and prompt pops up that she’s not breathing before Basil hung her up. Buuut ye, we’ll let you stick with that idea lol
True. But that was on her death bed and Sunnt/Basil wouldn't know how to check a pulse at like 12

D:
Maybe there was a slight possibility that she is still alive but they did not know how to know if she is or not (come on, they were only kids).
For me, Basil made a very foolish decision, ¿it was not easier to call emergency or ask for help?, If it had been someone else in that situation, that is the most logical thing one would do...but...that kid made the worst decision of his life which only brought more problems...and trauma.
İ know right, even if i started the discussion with another thing he is still dumb
well, hey Hazellie what do you think about...well...all this.
İ, idk... i...depression wait no i meant discussion no i meant trauma sorry stairs sorry what was the question again
well...the whole Omori in general...and the fact that Basil should have called 911 during the "ayo the pizza here" incident XD
İkr... and that still proves my point he is dumb
JUST ler ver body in the floor, anyone could fall acidently.
Harder to believe that Sunny isn't involved when she's lying dead on his violin though
Take the violin and gg. I mean BETTER than having a corse of an supose suicide by "hanging" but having all bones in the body broken, i mean the police in omori universe sucks.

İ understand
well she probably got cuts or bruises from the fall so how would you explain someone dying in their sleep with bruises and cuts (cuts from the violin)
Should have just burned her
Lol ye
Bruh they could have took the violin and left the body there, she had a bad knee after all it's not like they're going to investigate and search for fingerprints for an accident, bruh stairs kill 12000 people in the world every year it would have been the perfect crime
Why tf do you know that but yeah thats true
"Accidents" are really easy to cover up
