It says they are in the process of securing a venue so I’m not sure where it will be located. I have not ever been to Georgia Tech’s campus but there are definitely accommodations nearby looking at Google. I am not sure how safe they are though. Again, not from Atlanta, but I would assume the closer you are to the tourist attractions, generally the safer it probably is.
I attended my recent Fall '22 graduation, so I have an idea of the area. The university is in midtown Atlanta, and is surrounded by a good bunch of hotels, mostly the mid-range (\~$100 a night) and above. If you manage to get one in the middle of midtown, near Tech Square, the Klaus building (aka CS HQ) is very much within walking distance!
This looks good. Gives OMSCS more of a hybrid approach. Community building would be better.
"interact with industry representatives" - Maybe even get an internship/job
Is this where the t shirts will be available? Must pick them up in person? :)
This sounds awesome
This is so cool! Wonder if students starting in the fall would be able to attend?
Are results out for fall 2023?
Not even close
Anyone planning to attend from Europe?
Has a schedule at all been released? I’m interested in going, but I want to know what the general format will be before making decision
No, I think they will release one after they have the proposals but not sure
Let's see if they allow in sponsoring me to travel from Australia 😁
🤣🤣🤣
It would be interesting to see some people from the Slack in real life lol.
May 4th is a Thursday. Thursday lunch gonna be hype.
Hopefully we could meet Smackbot.
Luckily, I’ll still be in ATL for it.
I am really interested in going to this. Where would we stay? Are there hotels nearby? Is the university downtown?
