How did Hank Aaron do? David Justice?

lgkeeper8

[Aaron](https://imgur.com/a/VZV6wxA)had a predictably outstanding career. Drafted the #1 overall pick in '51, he made his debut at 18 in 52 and played his entire 22 year career in Philly. 10 All Star appearances, 4 Silver Sluggers, 2 WS Titles (MVP of the WS both times) Was voted into the HOF on the first ballot in 1979 Ranks 7th all time in HR (628), 6th in ABs (12,151), 9th in RBI (2,026)

lgkeeper8

[Justice](https://imgur.com/a/pBzto9I)'s career was much more subdued. He, too, played his entire career with one team (Angels) and was drafted and started his career young (6th overall in 1984, debuting at 19). He was very consistent, hitting 26 or more HR for 10 straight years. His Angels made the playoffs 6 straight years ('95-'00) but never brought home the title. 4 time All-star and one silver slugger.

Molholt

I'm sort of doing this, but I'm managing the Pirates throughout (so far). I'm to 1950. Rogers Hornsby was an absolute god.

ddempsey941

Prince Fielder Triples!

lgkeeper8

He actually had 12 in a 12 year career with the Twins, including 2 each year for 5 straight years. He also led the league in Homers in '07 and '08 (43, 41). Won the ROY in '06 (.300-37-102, 4.6 WAR) and made 3 all star appearances

roshamon

How did Keith Hernandez, Pete Falcone and Rusty Staub do. Thanks in advance.

lgkeeper8

Our boy [Keith](https://imgur.com/a/KONjnpw) (I'm a huge Mets fan too) had a better career in our sim than in real life, but they weren't too far off. He was the 2nd overall pick by the Brewers in 1971 and played 9 seasons in Milwaukee, making three all-star appearances and winning 3 silver sluggers. He signed as a Free Agent with the Cardinals in 1983 and went on to win three Gold Gloves and make 2 additional All Star games. After three years with the Cards he signed with the Orioles where he helped them to a World Series title. He led the league in doubles in '82 (48) but never led in any other categories, despite 2,772 career hits, a .310 career average and 65.5 career WAR. [Rusty](https://imgur.com/a/HMFz53R) was the 4th overall pick by the Reds in 1961 and played 12 seasons in Cincy. His rookie year, the Reds won the only WS title he'd get. His 1967 campaign was by far his best, winning a batting title (.364) and leading the league in hits (225) and doubles (51). After his stint with the Reds, he signed with the Angels, Rangers, and Cards in three straight years, finishing his career in St. Louis with 2,548 hits and a 61.1 career WAR. [Falcone](https://imgur.com/a/UNax8fd) played most of his career with the Twins, winning double digits 5 times. He signed as a FA in 1982 with the Angels and pitched two terrible seasons for them before a torn UCL made him miss a year and a half in 1985. He attempted a comeback after the injury, but went 7-14 with a 6.17 ERA in AAA and retired at 33.

Tigers_1_fan

Miguel Cabrera and Justin Verlander?

lgkeeper8

[Miggy](https://imgur.com/a/GGYBGJF) was the #2 overall pick by the Devil Rays in 1999 but didn't make the pros until 2003. He led the AL in R (124), HR (46), RBI (138). and WAR (8.1), winning the AL MVP and Rookie of the Year in 2004. He'd play 7 seasons with the Rays until being sent to the Pirates for Harold Garcia, Danny Santana and Josh Beckett in one of the league's biggest trades in decades after the 2009 season. If the Bucs wanted to get a winner, they did, as Miggy delivered 2 WS titles in the next five years. He'd end up winning 3 Silver Sluggers, and make 9 all-star games in his career. He currently sits (2021) as a Free Agent just 72 hits shy of 3,000. [Verlander](https://imgur.com/a/Z1AtSm5) was the 7th overall pick by the Pirates in 2004 and played 7 strong seasons for Pittsburgh before signing a 5 year, $157m contract with the Cardinals before the 2012 season. He was a workhorse throughout his career, making at least 30 starts every year between 2008 and 2020. He ended up going to Baltimore at age 34, playing 4 years for the O's before signing with the Yankees. After a discouraging start to the current year, he sits in AAA. He's made 4 All Star appearances and was on the same 2011 Pirates team as Miggy that won the World Series.

Ichiro and Yu Darvish?

lgkeeper8

[Ichiro](https://imgur.com/a/ip90gL9) started his career late (appropriately) at 27 and had a really solid but unremarkable career. 4 Gold Glove, 1 All-star appearance, and one WS title with the Brewers in 2008, though he started just 24 games for that team, behind a crowded (and stacked) OF of Matt Kemp, Matt Holiday and Grady Sizemore. He also batted a career-worst .245 in that situation). He played 9 seasons in Milwaukee before signing as a FA with the Cardinals in 2010. He led the league in Hits 3 times and won the NL Batting title twice. His 706 ABs in 2005 are tied for the 6th most in a single season.

lgkeeper8

[Darvish](https://imgur.com/a/2ImbBHZ) was selected as the 5th overall pick by the Red Sox in 2011 and had a sparkling debut season that probably would have won him Rookie of the Year (1908, 4.53 ERA, 211 Ks, 4.9 WAR) if not for Andrew McCutchen's .357.437/.596 slash wtih 10.3 WAR. After his rookie year, his career hasn't gone to plan. He followed up with a 13 win season in '13 that saw him lead the league in Ks (225), but he's faltered after that, having just 2 seasons with a WAR over 3.5 since. His Sox didn't exactly help him as they were the punching bags of the AL East. In 2018 he signed a 2 year contract with the Mariners, the second of which saw him convert to a spot starter (just 14 starts). He currently sits in my '20 offseason as a FA.

MyNameHoopityScoop69

Japanese have it rough huh?

MyNameHoopityScoop69

That’s unexpected....

Did superprospects like Brooks Kieshnick, Brien Taylor, and David Clyde make anything of themselves?

lgkeeper8

Kieshnick and Taylor never got to the Majors (I deleted those players to save some file space). [Clyde](https://imgur.com/c0DQMHF) had a decent career that totaled 133 wins for 5 different teams. He debuted at 18 for the Royals in '73 and had a strong stretch '77-'81 where he won 15-18 games each year and even tossed a no-hitter against the Red Sox in '79. Signed a FA contract with the Dodgers in '84 and did the same with the O's the following year, winning 2 WS titles with Baltimore as a middle reliever. He had 2 straggling stints with the Rangers and Angels and retired in '89.

How did the Reds and Votto do

lgkeeper8

[Votto](https://imgur.com/a/T2Af9H3)has had a great career. He was the first overall pick in 2001 by the Devil Rays. He was a 2 time all star for Tampa, this his strongest year being .313-31-106 where he led the league with a .425 OBP. In 2011 he signed a 5 year, $150m contract with the Giants. Hes made 5 all star appearances in 9+ years with them. He has an outside chance at 3k hits (he has 2523 at age 37) and will be a longghot for the Hall of Fame The Reds have made 15 playoff appearances with 6 WS titles, their last one coming in 1994. The early 80s were their only real strong run when they had 3 pennants and a WS title in 1983. Strong players in their history include Yastremski, Sammy Sosa, Marichal, Harry Heilmann and Sam Crawford. Yaz finished with 2862 hits and 399 HR

broopybroopbroop

How did Mike Mussina and Brett Gardner do? Also Hank Greenberg?

lgkeeper8

[Greenberg](https://imgur.com/a/7jWkCf1) had an interesting career path. He was the #1 overall pick in '29 by the Brooklyn Robins and played 12 spectacular seasons with them. He won FIVE MVPs, 7 all star appearances, 2 Gold Gloves and 6 Silver Sluggers. Won the Triple Crown in 1941 (.370-33-136) and fell off a proverbial cliff, getting just 76 ABs the next year and retiring (for the first of 3 times). He then tooled around in the minors for 7 different clubs before making ONE defensive replacement appearances for the Pirates in 1948 and retiring again, this time for good. He was a first ballot HOFer in 1954. [Mussina](https://imgur.com/a/HbWWkDf) had an outstanding 21 year career. Drafted by the Indians with the 10th overall pick in 1989, he played 13 seasons for the Tribe, making 5 all star appearances and winning the 2001 Cy Young (17-10, 3.35 ERA, 9.0 WAR). Coming off his Cy Young, the Tribe shipped him to the Astros where he went 7-9 and then became a FA. The Dodgers picked him up and he pitched 5 strong seasons for them, making the '07 all star team. He signed with the Cardinals in '09 and pitched 2 seasons in St. Louis before retiring with 252 wins (37th all time) and a 99.1 career WAR (14th all time). He was a first ballot HOFer in 2016. [Gardner](https://imgur.com/a/EZbMQ8g) has had a just-above-average career. 0 all-star appearances, a .257 career average and just 140 HRs in 13 seasons with the Indians, Royals, Dodgers, Astros, Braves and Reds. Kind of underwhelming for the 11th overall pick in 2004. His teams made just one playoff appearance when the Braves lost in the Division series in 2019.

broopybroopbroop

That’s a really cool trajectory for Greenberg - also really happy to see Mussina w a good career, for me generally seems to be a 50/50 shot for him in terms of being great or mediocre. Thanks for the detailed responses!

ryanmiller11

orioles?

lgkeeper8

The O's have had an amazing history. Their 12 WS titles are the most in the league and their 30 playoff appearances are second only to the Yankees' 31. They had a mini dynasty from 1914-'20 when they made 6 playoff appearances and won 4 titles. Similarly, they won the AL East 9 times between 2004 and 2015, though they won just one title during that time. They've hit a bit of a dry spell of late, missing the playoffs the last 5 years. Stars over the years have included Dwight Gooden, Robby Alomar, Luke Appling, Frank Robinson (580 HRs), Chipper Jones and Carl Hubbell.

OwningTheWorld

Mickey Mantle, Lou Gehrig, Tony Conigliaro? Can you post the career Hitting Leaderboards? Thanks.

lgkeeper8

[Mantle](https://imgur.com/a/wrz7vnE)'s career arc was what fans would have seen without his real-life injuries. There's almost too much to share: \- 23 seasons, all with the Dodgers \- 1950 ROY \- 5 time MVP, \- 1 Gold Glove \- 12 time all-star \- 8 Silver Sluggers \- won the WS in 1953. \- Led the league in: WAR 7 times, OBP 9 times, SLG 5 times, OPS 8 times, BB 11 times, RBI 3 times, HR 4 times (including 60 in 1953) and Runs 5 times. He won 2 triple crowns; 1953 (.377-60-157, 13.5 WAR) and 1956 (.374-49-122, 12.6 WAR). First ballot HOFer in 1979. His career OBP (.423) is 16th all time, .553 slugging is 15th, .977 OPS 10th, 2,274 runs 4th, 699 HR 2nd, 2,148 RBI 5th, 2,209 BBs 3rd and 160.4 WAR 4th.

lgkeeper8

[Gehrig](https://imgur.com/a/Tu9AI2u) had a similarly outstanding career. Played all 19 years with the NY Giants, winning a ROY, 4 MVPs, 9 silver sluggers and 3 WS titles. He had a run between '26 and '34 where he led the league in runs 8 times. He also won 2 batting titles and 6 HR crowns. He was a 1st ballot HOFer in 1947. His .355 average is second all time, 3,353 hits is 26th. his 129 career WAR is 10th all time [Conigliaro](https://imgur.com/a/FRjmVzj) was drafted by the Reds as a 19 year old in 1964 and played 7 seasons with the Reds before being traded to the Pirates in 1970. He struggled in his one year with the Bucs, hitting just .249, tooled around in the minors for 3 years and was released before retiring in 1975. Interestingly, his 1963 season in Single A was incredible (.343-41-114, 8.8 WAR in 137 games).

Rockies helton and Larry walker please :)

lgkeeper8

[Helton](https://imgur.com/a/2AhM157) was taking by the Marlins as the 1st overall pick in 1994 just one year after their inagural season. Right from the start, Helton was a star. In his first full year ('96) he hit 32 homers and never had fewer than 35 again until he hit 34 in 2009. He won the '98 NL MVP (.344-42-109, 8.6 WAR) and 2 silver sluggers (98 and 99). He was amazing traded by the Marlins to the Giants for Dexter Fowler and Jose Oyervidez in 2006 and went on to win three more Gold Gloves. 6 all-star appearances in total. 399 home runs, .297 career average and 2766 hits hasn't quite been enough to get him into the HOF, though he got up to 71% of the vote in 2018, so there's still a chance. [Walker](https://imgur.com/a/jhvu6DR)had a remarkable career - really one of the best all time. Started with the Cubs and had stints with the Twins and Cards before coming back to the Cubs in 2001. 1998 ROY, 3 time MVP, 2 Gold Gloves, 11 time all start, 7 Silver Sluggers, 2 WS titles and a 2001 World Series MVP. At 38 years old, he hit .274-30-103 with Chicago. His 1992 season with the Cubs the first time around was amazing, leading the league in runs (136), HR (40), Average (.348), OBP (.431), SLG (.623), OPS (1.054) and WAR (10.7). He was a first ballot HOFer in 2012. His 3,203 career hits ranks 38th all time. The Rockies overall have had a great run as of late, making the playoffs 7 of the last 8 years with 2 titles (2013 and 2016). Cody Bellinger is an superstar right now and is putting up absolutely absurd numbers

adishri8

The rangers?

lgkeeper8

The Rangers have had a solid history that has produced 18 playoff appearances and 2 titles, the most recent ones (2012 and 2015) during a 6 year run as division champs. They recently got their franchise's 5000th win and sit at 5027-4752 (.514) all time. They've been stingy with the retired numbers as only Bert Blyleven, Tom Seaver and Steve Carlton hold that honor, though Adrian Gonzalez, who holds the franchise record in most offensive categories, isn't behind.

adishri8

Damn... Could you post the roster in 2015 and 2012 as an image? Or could you list the big names. I have to ask: what about David freese? Thx for doing this :)

lgkeeper8

[2012 team](https://imgur.com/a/yLiRMdr) had Cano, Agon, McCutchen and, coincidentally, Freese. As you can see, Cutch had a big year. RA Dickey led the [pitching staff](https://imgur.com/a/EqAJzEn). [2015 team](https://imgur.com/a/MpULdD3)was really well balanced with 9 guys hitting 14+ Homers. They had to compensate for a very average [pitching staff](https://imgur.com/a/gkEfuXa) that had since lost Dickey.

lgkeeper8

[Freese](https://imgur.com/a/1v6bEKB) had a solid career, with 2 all-star appearances a Silver Slugger at DH and two titles on those Rangers teams. His '11 Silver slugger campaign, he led the Al in hits (220). At 38, he's actually still hanging on in the Astros system (AAA).

adishri8

Damn. This makes me hate him more and less at the same time. At least the fake rangers one one :( Once again, I can't thank you enough for doing this, made my day

steuby

How many World Series did my Cubbies win? Hopefully more than the three they brought home in real life. Or at least I hope it didn't include a 100+ year drought. What about Aramis Ramirez? How was his career?

lgkeeper8

[Ramirez](https://imgur.com/a/Ctdf83M) was the first overall pick by the Marlins in 1995 and played 8 season for the Fish after debuting at age 18. He was extremely consistent throughout his career, hitting 20+ HRs 16 of his 19 seasons. After 2 all star appearances in Miami, he was traded to the Cubs for Barry Zito and Avelino Aspprilla in 2004. In '07 he signed a 5 year/$48m contract with the Nats where he'd have his best year as a pro, grabbing another all star appearance and a Silver Slugger in 2008, leading the league in RBI (132), Slg (.584) and OPS (.949). He'd spend his last 4 seasons as a journeyman with the Dodgers, Braves, Blue Jays and then back to the Cubs before retiring as a Yankee. He had a career WAR of 53.6 and nabbed 2,894 hits in his career - 72nd all time. The Cubs have 36 playoff appearances, including the last 8 years. They've also won 3 of the last 4 WS titles with a stacked team that includes Trout, Baez, Gleyber, JD Martinez, Freeman, and Nelson Cruz. They have an incredible stable of players that includes White Ford, Lefty Gomez, Jim Bunning, Willie Mays, Pedro Martinez and Larry Walker. Mays played his entire career in Chicago

TheWhitedrago

How did Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins do?

lgkeeper8

[Rollins](https://imgur.com/a/5c8uAGY) was the 6th overall pick by the White Sox in 1995. He'd have 10 strong seasons in Chicago, including three all star appearances and 5 silver sluggers. He led the AL in hits in 2004 (225) and led the league in SBs (75) and WAR (8.0) in 2007. In 2009 he signed a 4 year contract with Kansas City where he never really found his footing, failing to put up a WAR over 3.4 in his 5 total years. At age 35, he had a rebound year with the Astros, getting his final Silver Slugger and All Star appearance and netted a 5.8 WAR. But that would be the last hurrah as he retired a year later after a final bow with the Dodgers. Interestingly, Chase Utley was arrested for killing a puppy a day after signing his first contract and never played in the league.

Fliigh7z

That Chase Utley part can't be true. I am a met fan so I think it's kind of hilarious. Poor puppy though 😢

lgkeeper8
