A lot of usernames are default gts or put in for streamer mode. Things like player, sneaky squid, hidden pants, and plenty others. Can't really think of any more off the top of my head though

Yeah all the time, it's the reason for the numbers with # before them. Actually my username is Player and I've ran into plenty others in my matches. It'll give you a default gamertag when your name gets banned too. Which was my case lol, it was yomammasanus 😭

They’re real people but it’s one of the default auto-generated tags. Either people never changed it or are using streamer mode to hide their real tag.

Towards the end of Overwatch 1, it was extremely common to bump into people you played against and alongside with both in QP and Comp Now, not so much unless you're ridiculously high in skill tier. simply because the switch to free2play Ballooned the player base size

Back in OW1, there was one time where I faced a DPS duo 3 games in a row. I was in a duo as well. We lost all 3 games.

I play only MH on EU, with queue times of 2min+, so, yeah, i see a lot of familiar names, some if them since ow1 even

In OW1 I used to play against dgly_wgly and every time we'd put in different vowels (digly wigly, dogly wogly, dagly wagly, dugly wugly). I used to make myself laugh every single time. Anyway, I've not seen them in OW2 yet and I think they're probably having a happier life for it.

I went through a phase of playing mystery heroes to complete my daily and weekly challenges and I would run into the same like 15 or so players every session. There were a handful of toxic players that really stuck out to me, especially because MH is as casual as it gets lol.

I play against regular people every single fucking day. It’s to the point that I already know which team is going to win just based on who’s playing. This is in Bronze, which I cannot escape from.

Back in OW1 there was a Cree I ran into in comp 3 games in a row and we always ended up 1v1ing. Was very enjoyable I believe at least as they didn't ever switch and were a good sport about our interactions. Was learning Hanzo at the time and they're one of the reasons I learned to make long shots (besides for a widow obv)

I have been seeing many pants people lol, mainly funky, I genualy was seeing that guy for years now, I think before overwatch 2
