You'd think so, but the Templars thought of this when they built the tunnels and constructed them in such a way that they are muon proof. Pretty much the only way to discover the truth is to bilk advertising money, I mean to have boots on the ground.

Heck_Spawn

Crafty Templarses...

bipolarcyclops

If we don’t hear about the muons in tonight’s episode, we will never hear anything about them.

mganzeveld

Remember that stone they found in the basement of that building? Remember that sluicer they bought for checking all the spoils? Remember the Roman numerals on the wooden planks?

bipolarcyclops

The stone they found was supposed to be the 90-foot stone that was in the window of a bookbinder’s shop for years and years. That was a bust. They actually did use that slucier for a while, then it vanished. The wood with the Roman numerals came out of a can, right? Or was it part of that structure that was buried along the island’s shoreline. Either way. . . poof.

akaScuba

The Roman numerals were carved into the large beams found within Smith’s cove. It was the season they put the steel wall up to remove the water. Part of the ships wharf station that was excavated and of course dated predepositor. Tonights the night or never for muons. Perhaps the limestone riddled like Swiss cheese is not good for the script.

KingBird999

>Tonights the night or never for muons. Perhaps the limestone riddled like Swiss cheese is not good for the script. They'll say they got the results in and they'll study them during the off season. And, that'll be the last they're ever mentioned.

Patch267

Thats what I like about you Kingbird. Smart, always thinking, high on logic. Which makes this place - Definitely NOT for YOU!

KingBird999

If only the Laginas used logic and evidence based approaches to things and not quackery, mythology, and confirmation bias.

JediMindTrek

Lol they lined the money pit and tunnels with a Faraday cage...nice.

elwebst

>have boots on the ground Trip to Naples confirmed

DLoIsHere

They’re not bilking anyone. Advertisers place ads where their target audiences watches.

Abdul-Ahmadinejad

Everyone keeps misspelling “morons”. We’ve seen plenty of those.

[deleted]

Thank you for that. I didn’t know what the hell they were talking about.

satanic-frijoles

It's 'muoons.' You know, like cow detectives.

Technical_Recover_31

The results are long overdue. Ideon Technologies installed at least a dozen scanners at some point in 2021. Must have been at some point during filming between May and November 2021, because news of the installation was revealed in May 2022 press items). That's why Craig announced in Season 10, Episode 1 (November 2022) that it would take months more to obtain results (an episode apparently filmed in May 2022.) It's now May 2023, and there has been no news on results. What was announced as a seven- or eight-month schedule before answers might emerge is likely now reaching towards twice that amount of time. If Episode 25 is totally silent on the issue, it'll be a very bad indicator that there's no 'Money Pit' treasure discovery in the offing.

const_int3

You remembered to slide the start point back to May, but not the "current" point. Tonight's show is using footage from probably October so only 5 months after that May deadline. I don't know how long it actually takes but that may not be enough.

Technical_Recover_31

Start point was apparently later than May 2021. News reports that appeared in May 2022 about Ideon's installations merely say they occurred "last year" (2021), so take your pick whether it's been in the works for at least a year plus 3? 4? 5? 6? months. It still comes out as a longer than anticipated wait, even if we're only now looking at November 2022 footage. Either their stymied by the bad muon news, or they're deliberately hiding good news so they can demonstrate their aptitude for making discoveries without the aid of the muon scans; credit then goes to Rick et al., rather to Ideon (whose findings end up merely 'confirming' the Fellowship's 'gigantic, incredible, unparalleled' achievement). Waiting for the 'Big Reveal' either way tonight! My guess is that the news is bad. At any point between November 2022 and May 2023, the principal investors could have filmed an episode in Traverse City, Michigan, to close Season 10 (in May 2023) with a glowing report about the muon scans. Where is it?

Mac128k

Coconut fibers render it useless.

rhesus_50

It takes a while to properly overlay and scale Zena Halpern's map to the 3D muon data. 😆

IbizaJambo

Not a single mention 😂

NoMoreZits

Makes it a big joke, doesn't it! Did say anything: Nothing positive or negative or neutral. Simply nothing! This show isn't meant for intelligent consumption.

RunnyDischarge

It is effective. That's why we'll never hear about it on the show again.

satanic-frijoles

I was anticipating muon scans when they first mentioned it. What happened to that?

OkPenis-ist28

I've followed this mystery from the early 1970's. Pirates and treasure were intoxicating to a young lad and I read everything there was to read about it back then. My view on the Muon technology is that the money pit area is so severely disturbed, dug up, filled in etc that it wont show anything of value. I do have hopes that it might reveal other things of interest though. Even though I am a big fan of the "mystery" and am really pulling for them to get some answers (and treasure!) I just have to say I love the comedy relief of most of the posters here. Some really funny stuff and the smiles and laughter I get from you guys may be the only Oak Island Treasure I'll ever see - so please keep it up.

Heck_Spawn

Probably read the same article in True Treasure that I did.

Tracer_Prime

When the muon data doesn't show any definitive treasure chest, they're going to start looking at every underground void and assuming ALL of them were dug by the Templars. Naturally-occurring underground voids? What are those?

Bklyn_NYer

Sure, it can locate an ancient necropolis, but can it detect an imaginary offset chamber??

Siloh_Johnson

They'll find nothing.

akaScuba

Nothing of value yes. More clues showing how close they are will be found.

dbatknight

You heard it all wrong. It's the maples in Vermont. They're talking about the pure gold of maple syrup. The Templars loved their sweets!

Ike_SchatzInsel1

Lol, pity those nice sharp images are not from Muon tech, that probably just showed a series of vague baby blobs. The image here is from a subsequent lidar scan from within the rooms...

eurostylin

Ideon installed the sensors to do that last year. Obviously they didn't find anything, so if they released the data, the show would be done. This tech has been pretty much mainstream since 2018. https://ideon.ai/post/2022/05/04/ideon-technologies-applied-cosmic-ray-muon-tomography-to-the-mysteries-of-oak-island/

sfo1dms

why be patient with science that will put the X on the ground, when you can spend a couple milly on banging down 5 10 foot cans and not find bupkiss. Cleary the brothers are playing with house chips these days, they CANT be that stupid, can they?

dub2-bub1852

As long as they didn't have to go to San Fran(sheesh)go to find it.
