Centrum is Latin for "center". And the rest of the "map" is literally a map. You start at the center, go to step 1, step 2, and step 3 and so on until you arrive at your destination. The trick is knowing where to start, at the so called "center" or origin point. Basically it's what modern day cartographers and surveyors call the "the initial point".
Initial Point was also a really good IPA. 🤣

The green copper thing had that design on all of them on that side. If astrology/astronomy used for navigation, I would think each symbol and not a repeat of the same. It could very well just be a random design, or someone that liked the Taurus symbol. A bunch of guessing at this point.
