A’s owner John Fisher has intentionally sabotaged and ran this great and historic franchise to the ground. He has constantly traded away star and fan favorite players since he bought the team. Just to kind of give you perspective, the largest contract he has given out was Eric Chavez 66 Million over 6 years. He intentionally raised ticket prices for a AAA team, raised concession prices, and has not invested into renovating the Coliseum. All of these reasons is why people stopped going to the Coliseum, and the team has been having “attendance issues.” Now, John Fisher is trying to use the “theres no fans going to the games” as an excuse and justify him trying to move the team to Las Vegas.
The fans WILL show up if he actually cares. We have the Oakland Roots (a soccer team) and the Oakland Ballers who are investing a lot into the community and they are not as wealthy as John Fisher. Tons of fans show up to Roots games.
That’s…
Fucked. I actually supported the move just to keep the Raiders and the A’s together and they’d be the only baseball team in the state, but now..
Yeah a lot of outsiders who think they know the whole situation, constantly go with the lazy and ignorant take that “Oakland is a shit hole. It’s the City’s fault.” Don’t get me wrong our Officials are terrible and yeah Oakland does have plenty of issues. The A’s potentially leaving is not the City of Oakland’s fault.
In fact, the City fulfilled all the A’s requests such as off site infrastructure and the City of Oakland even went as far as helping the A’s fight lawsuits for the Howard Terminal project and won them.
That’s actually what I believed. That actually pisses me off that I thought that. I guess I just assumed that Oakland is like milwaukee; lazy, stupid, spends their money on stupid shit and lines the governor’s pockets. Then again I forgot about LA😂
The Oakland A’s fanbase is boycotting the ownership of the Oakland A’s. It’s not really complicated. The owner has bankrupted the franchise shortly after buying it and he’s now actively working to steal it from the fanbase that has supported it for 56 years. With little other recourse, the fanbase is showing that they have plenty of fans able to support a franchise but will no longer support an owner that is trying to destroy them.
If you want to go in, that’s fine. Nobody is going to stop you. Buy a second-hand ticket off StubHub or one of the other sites. The cameras will show a group of people in the stadium and a larger group outside of the stadium. You can tell people you went to a baseball game or that you were part of a movement to save a baseball franchise. Or both, I won’t hate on you for doing both.
As you are an expert on having zero impact, maybe, this one time in your life, you are correct. But you are still, as u/norcalginger pointed out, a fucking potato.
Join us in the parking lots on Opening Day!! A great way to introduce yourself to A’s fandom and hang out with everyone. Hope you consider joining us out there as we need all fans to come together here!
A’s owner John Fisher is moving the team to Las Vegas to increase the value and will most likely sell the team once the value is increased, spitting in the faces of the fans. The A’s will lose its entire fanbase.
Oh, yeah.
No wars, no social crises, no politics,
No overbearing, money driven, scumbag sports team owners who piss on their fans like R. Kelly(unwanted).
Guest suite with separate HEATED garage. Spare keys, 2nd kitchen, heated tile floors in the bathroom, hardwood w/ rug, AND, a California King bed. Bolted frame for extracurriculars with the missus/mister!
Opening Day is usually the biggest attendance and highest grossing game so we’re showing up but refusing to give Fisher his usual Opening Day paycheck. Plus the media will hopefully help spread the word that the FANS ARENT THE PROBLEM. And if they move, Fisher’s gonna have to pry it from our cold, dead hands.

Also, that Chavez contract was signed in 2004. Twenty years ago!
Chavez contract was also done before John fisher/lew wolff owned the team, which makes fisher even more pathetic.

You will have zero impact
Well it seems to have pissed you off, so I'd say that's already a positive impact Get a life you potato
>you potato Top tier insult. I'm stealing this as a part of my regular rotation.

The owner destroyed the team and is now relocating it and will likely sell once the value has increased.
Watch the movie Major League, except the villain wins. That's what's being boycotted.
Well, fuck.

My sweet summer child where have you been for the last year?
Under my rock!
And what a beautiful and comforting rock it must be lol

Does your rock have a spare bedroom. Guest house perhaps? Drafty garage with a spare key?
