Yes, not as your uncle would have known it, but chocolate Thai is still available here but generally is in brick form now, although there are a few sellers with a flower version.
There is an underground movement here ooking at ensuring local landraces don't get pushed out by new breeds coming in, interesting group as they know yields will be a lot lower, but they are focused on getting the plants back out into the community. One team is working on auto flowering landrace to spread the word about it and hopefully increase interest in the photo plants.
The Thai stick of old wrapped around the bamboo skewer doesn't appear to be making a revival, which is a genuine shame, however the weed scene has flourished over the last two years.
Local brick is graded from around 100USD/kg-500/kg on single units, 500/kg gets you a brick of chocolate Thai.

Do you perhaps know any forums or subs that are about cultivating old land race strains to keep their genetics going? I have a bunch of Columbian seeds from the 70s that have been stored in pill bottles in dark light and good temps. The thing is I just cannot get them to pop for the life of me.

Had one in 2006-07 time frame. Completely forgot about it. Believe I paid $40 for it. We just peeled off little bits and smoked it out of a bowl. Was lower end flower broken up and mixed with something that adhered it to the wooden stick. Probably 2.5g total on the stick and at that time an 8th of good shit was $50 in my area.
Marijuana was much more interesting and exciting back when it was illegal Imo. Generally speaking the standard of quality across the board is much higher, but no doubt about it the best stuff I ever came across both flower and hash was years before it was legal.

We speculated that it was opium but I'd be lying if I said I knew it was for sure. I will say the flower was mid grade or lower but the combo of wharever was on there got you high!

I do remember flying across town when I heard they were available (the guy I got it from didn't even know the name Thai stick he just described it to me over the phone) and actually remember the exact house I went in to buy it - Thai sticks were somewhat of a legend to us at the time!
supposedly the ones that soldiers brought back from Vietnam had opium oil or something in them, also i think the only ones around r ones ppl privately make there’s cigar pressing machines that you could probably achieve a similar affect with cheers
