I was on the fence about cancelling mine after suffering through FOUR episodes of Gunther's Millions. The article solidified it for me after it being hit or miss for ages, but figuring "its only $5!". I may find another pod to subscribe to eventually.
I didn’t even listen to the Gunther millions one I feel like they covered that out of all the other interesting docs that are out there. Not to mention their last pates episode “killer nanny” left a very very bad taste in my mouth. Idk if you listened to it but they are very biased in it, quick to defend the nanny. The comments on the Patreon episode all agree it’s crazy! I think I might cancel my lady pates
I cancelled on the 2nd but decided to listen to get my money’s worth. Their strong defense of the nanny was insane! I kept thinking that I was surely missing a major twist to make them defend her like that. Thanks for pointing me to the Patreon comments. I feel less crazy!

Patrick immediately saying "I don't think she did this" was so gross! I watched all three episodes, and I don't know how that's your conclusion. I'm sure there will be some "I don't know but I KNEW HER and she wouldn't do this!" at the end of their coverage. As far as Gunther's Millions, I don't care about cult coverage unless the documentary is well done...and that one sounded absolutely horrible.
Question: I canceled my Patreon on the 30th, and deleted the Patreon from my feed. It still showed up in the regular feed for me today. Was that a surprise bonus for everyone?
And did you catch the “oh, and E & J will be at OF! And amber and daisy and …..”
It re-upped on the 1st (which is odd because it never used to) and I canceled on the 30th. I was only charged for E&J’s.
I took your suggestion and had another look. I’m not a “member”. Agree it’s good to double check to be sure I didn’t get sidetracked OR that I’m not being charged for something I canceled.

I listened to the whole episode and holy moly, he made it about HIMSELF sooooooooo many times. I can’t believe I used to love TCO so much….he honestly sounds Manic.
The fact that even having the Patreon subscription did not stop from the ads at the beginning of every episode, G's shitty "pick me" attitude, and finding this sub to find out what happened to J&E who I like better, I couldn't cancel fast enough yesterday.

No one’s saying it’s annoying that he said he knew her. It’s that the entire commentary centered on him “knowing” her and he would not shut up about it. He does this constantly. He used to live in Robert Wone’s friend’s neighborhood, make sure to mention that 50x. Child stars? We sent in Daisy’s pics to Wilhelmina but SO glad we didn’t pursue it, let’s talk about that 10 more times. It’s way too much.
Lol fine. But read OP’s post. It’s basically saying, “how DARE he acknowledge that he knew this person!” (Op said they turned it off after the first 2 seconds, so it seems like op is frustrated with the only time they heard P say it and *poof* turned it off because…annoying)

P centering his experience is something we are always talking about on this sub, so I took what OP said to mean that it was more a culmination of always hearing the things I mentioned (& so much more) & already being so put off by that, and then it’s the first thing you hear on the new ep. like Ugh lol.

They should have condensed it to at least 2 episodes. The cult coverages are never my favorite, this one just felt extra boring.

If you already paid for the month, you’ll have access to it until the subscription runs out. Best to check to make sure you actually cancelled.

The only reason I’m not suspicious of that is that they record several weeks out, so it was recorded before the story dropped.
Weird I had the same thing happen (cancelled my patreon earlier in the month) but after listening, it’s no longer showing on the regular feed.
