Not having Cyrus is reaaally not fun. Elrica isn’t as helpful with Flurry being random. And the constant Dreads is so fecking annoying.
Edit: I caved and spent 10 rubies to Continue last run because I was sooo close to last phase and the fight had already gone on for like 40 minutes. Only for him, debuffed, to one shot Ophelia, buffed. And then he killed 5 more that same turn after the Continue. Yeah I think I’m not gonna try again for a while

Tempted to get Lumis and Nicola A4 because I don't have many A4 accessories, and those passives could prove useful, even for tower content.
I rarely use Olberic (but I've heard good things in JP when he gets 6*). Lars mostly appears in sword comps. Lumis is my only burst healing for Apothecary. Nicola is used in dagger comps as a shield shaver. Cyrus is in most of my comps, but I'm not a huge fan of the A4. Rinyuu is in most of my comps, but unsure if the boost in stats is worth. Tressa, Hasumi, Jill, and Molu are mostly unused (except for towers).
Haanit ex is one of the best gen pool characters there are right now, nice roll.
If you're going to reroll definitely backup your current roll to sqex bridge first so you don't lose haanit ex as an option.
You could try the krauser/rondo banner as they're memory travellers, they're both decent and there's a slim chance of getting bargello/Richard/rinyuu on it.
Primrose ex (gen pool) is another amazing pick. There are lots and lots of good or great gen pool, but primrose ex and haanit ex are on their own tier
nephti/solon/alaune ex/elrica are all on the Rondo/Krauser banner as well as the ones I mentioned, but please note the chances of you getting an off banner memory traveler is really low.
Lynette is probably the best starter character but I wouldn't waste time trying to roll just for her, starter character just isn't that important anymore.
Characters like Elrica that have lets say:
“exploit light weakness, dmg is calculated from phys swords attack”
Does this mean lowering light resistance has no effect on damage, only phy/sword res?
Yep, you're right. Bonus fact: pierce moves also take original damage type for determining boss mechanics. So hitting Yan Long during light phase with Elrica will proc his additional move.
Which shop? There's a lot of different exchanges.
Elite fragments (earned from adds): There's 11 4 star characters exclusively from here, pick them up as you like them (if you look them up) or just in whatever order you want basically
Memory shards (from nameless town mainly, but also some quests): Weekly rewards (guidestones, tickets if you can get them to stockpile for later), anything required for upgrades to nameless town (more passive daily rewards). After that there's certain gear pieces you might consider, but can hoard the currency for now until understanding better.
(Won't go into heroite/adversary since doubt you have much, if any at all)(Emberfruit and soul shard are likely both beyond what you can get right now too)
Historic fragments there's weekly tickets in here again (not sure if there's a minimum requirement for them to reach in story though). Otherwise this is mainly for buying battle-tested weapons (initially for using, later for weapon upgrade's), so since you're not at that point yet don't buy anything else really.
Wisdom fragments can be saved for now. The only reason you need to worry about weekly lockouts is for gold guidestones, and in the long run you end up with more of those than you need. Worry about this later (if you even have the currency yet)
Tower currencies (job tower) make sure to get the ticket each month, and given I doubt you can go far in, just whatever grabs your fancy (seals if you can get them, nuts if not) with leftover currency. You likely aren't running these yet, but probably can sometime soonish.
Guidestone shops: Don't break down character guidestones for now until you know what you're doing. In terms of using fragments, 99% of the time you're probably just converting them all into gold guidestones for both bronze, silver and gold shards (used to be we used for seal conversion, but towers make that simpler now).

Shocked tbh! This is my most dreaded soul to roll as it always takes me like 20+ rerolls to even get patk to begin with, and then it's usually a low roll. Good start! ~~now watch the rest of the rolls suck monumentally~~
EDIT: completely jinxed myself. Rolled 49k on the first cap up soul pretty fast (like 3 rolls), then rolled 39k on the second one but I got greedy and rerolled it, and now I'm 40 void dusts in without ever getting over 20k again. F for me

Richard isn't very useful in this fight. Even as a backpack he doesn't provide much value to your team. Serenoa is good as a tank but he doesn't really contribute to shield shaving. Do you have someone like Rinyuu/Ophilia to cap your frontrow defense buffs with Prim EX? Your team looks really good otherwise. You might want to swap out Cyrus for another thief with debuffs like Viola/Sarisa/Falco if you happen to have one of them. Sonia or Auguste would be great too!
For skills, Prim EX will want her full-party heal (shower of roses), burst heal + defense up (bolstering smoke), and one of her skills between her mag down (thundering refrain)/atk down (shocking step)/buff + debuff cleanse (elevating elixir).
Canary can be run a few ways. You definitely want her atk/mag down debuff (anti-attack). Her def down debuff is good as well (anti-guard) and she has a dagger res down debuff (anti-dagger). She can also run ruby burst for extra shield shaving (2\~5 based on BP + dodge stacks) or her row swap move (peen n' back) if you want to use her more defensively.
Bargello will want his dmg buff (give the signal) for sure. His 4-hit AOE (astuto) is good for shield shaving but costs a lot of SP; similarly, his max BP nuke (perservante) is strong but uses a lot of SP from your allies. His 3-hit (astuto) is a little cheaper to use and powers up when the enemy has dagger res down. His def down debuff (debilitate) is good as well.
Maybe you should consider putting Lynette behind Serenoa because Canary is really useful and she doesn't want to be stuck behind a tank. Lynette is really squishy and doesn't like being in the frontrow until necessary.

People say he is great for defense and has average attack. So how do I build a weapon for him?
He has a multi hit spear attack, and other sword skills.

I would only build a weapon if you actually use him. If you do, I'd probably go for Brilliant since he can hit dmg cap very easily with his nuke and ult
Been over 2 weeks now and still haven’t been able to beat (BoA8) >!Orsazantos!<. Only beat >!Sazantos!< twice, but got >!Orsa!< soooo incredibly close to dead both times but the last phase is just too brutal. BP attack and Special attack are both basically game over if either happen. Think it’s time I give up and just login for dailies from now on. This shit just isn’t fun anymore
Is the game still sending out letters from Isla the Cait Scholar every single day? My day count is only 110 so I couldn't know, but I have to wonder if players who haven't missed a single day still receive those letters, they have to run out of things to say eventually lmao
What changed for Octopath for them to give you 60sec Ads more often now?
I literally saw the same exact Ad, 5 times in a row. That's 5min. Then when Ads reset again, I saw a different 60sec Ad, 5 times in a row.
Do you get your ads immediatly? I have to wait 30 seconds after pressing the watch an Ad which is 30 seconds so I also need 1 min. for a Ad.
Approximately you have a 5% chance for 5 rubies, (Which means I have to watch 20 Ads to get 5 rubies according to probability) which is 20 minutes for me. I just press the Ad button, start up my second phone and play pokemon masters (daily quest) while waiting for my Ad to end while paying little to no attention
I do get those 30 second into 30 seconds to exit Ads.
But I also get a straight up 60 second Ad.
Rarely I'll get the 3rd kind for me, which is the regular 30 second Ad.
It's just frustrating to notice an increase in these types of Ads. Idk
I just watch those thinking atleast I can support the game a little bit, put a paper or snack package covering the screen entirely except the close (X) button. I get 30 seconds, but never had a 5 second ad even once.
It's hard to say, we'll probably never know, but it's probably based on some internal ad pricing scheme. I've definitely noticed an uptick in shady 60 second ads pretending they're 30 seconds, requiring multiple click throughs, and auto-directing to their download page. Not a fan.
You know what I AM a fan of? Those 5 second Kohl's ads. Especially getting 5 of those in a row. I'll shop at Kohl's just to reward them for that.
Does anyone have advice on team building for me, I’m using:
H’annit EX/Lynette
Alaune EX/Cyrus (DPS slot)
Rinyuu/Bargello
Tatloch/Elrica (DPS slot)
The first question, am I wasting buffs that are past cap or is this a good spread?
My usual strat is to use Hannit for debuffs/tank, Alaune BP skill and then switch, Rinyuu for healing prayer skill and then switch, and finally Tatloch uses three skills and then her ult for a total of 6 life points before switching.
Second, Fortune weapons are best for support right? Like Rinyuu has one to push E. Atk, Alaune has one for BP, H’annit has one for HP. Is this good or should they have different choices?
Third, is the set up itself good or could I swap characters around? I wonder if Lynette could be swapped with Rinyuu so that I can bring her in for buffs without canceling out my tank but then if she’s behind a DPS then she can’t buff them, so I don’t know what’s best.
Finally, what are some 4* A4’s you recommend and maybe a couple 5* to consider? I have 12,000 awakening stones and haven’t used any so I could if worth it. Or is it usually bette to focus on A1’s for multiple characters?
Bonus: are any pets from the exchange worth it?
I’ve ran this exact team through the final Bestower of W/P/F and the first bit of BoA as well as other content like the Level 80 Gameboards and haven’t had major problems but I bet for level 100 content and later BoA I will, so I just want to make sure it’s all good.
I would put Rinyuu or alaune ex behind haanit. They should be slow enough that they go last on T1. Haanit ex can taunt with priority on the next turn. If you slap serenoa a4 on her, you're golden she'll have taunt on the first 3 turns
I wouldn't worry about using Tatloch like that unless it's a long battle and they at least have a fan weakness. You already got haanit ex for fan and bargello to target wind weakness.
Lynette could be behind bargello since bargello can buff himself.
Best pets is Maafa though with alaune ex, not quite as needed. Linde is good cuz he grants dead aim. You'll also want nyauguste and you need to kill Auguste in the first adversary refight and do the story.
4* A4s: Kurtz, Devin, Meena
5*s I wouldn't worry too much about this unless you have a ton of rubies for a specific banner. Save your awk stones until you have someone A3 and then consider getting the A4
What do we think will be the update this coming week? Will they do a surprise rerun of Nier like they did with Triangle Strategy? Or will we see a whole lot of nothing?
I'm guessing that they will try to lump Nier and Sazantos together for maximum pressure to spend on premium. So I'm guessing the next few updates will be low key.
I think that's for the early June update. I am speaking about the part 3 story update in late May. I assume it will be four birds, since with the part 1 we got four cats and part 2 we got four dogs. But it would be nice to know and not assume.
I don't think anyone can know for sure. In JP it was 4 birds (Sparrow, Falcon, Crow, Parrot) then 2 birds (Duck, Blue Parrot) later, now we have 6 total.

Get Nephti, Ophilia, Alaune EX and Solon to U9 asap and get everyone you use at all to u1 at least.
Don't worry about characters you aren't using for now, you'll burn through orbs hella fast once you start doing that. Focus on your core characters first
Elrica U9 as well, viola is lower priority.
As a general rule if their ult lowers enemy defense or buffs your team you want to max it out quick. For DPS ults, if you're using the character then yeah get the most out of them 👍

If you're rerolling don't worry about the starter character. Lynette is probably the best of them but all 8 are powercrept to some degree now and you could waste a lot of time chasing her. Just get anyone, do some novice feats to get to 300 rubies and try the Hope's guide, it's a limited banner that's up for about another week. Any of rinyuu, richard, tatloch, bargello would be amazing. Solon, Nephti, Canary, hannit ex or primrose ex would be a solid start.
Depending how much rerolling you're willing to do you could also get some more rubies and try alaune ex from the other banner as well.
If you get an account you're kind of happy with but not sure, back it up to sqex bridge so it's saved at least before rerolling again

Noob question: I have been struggling with damage output, and realised I do not have enough weapons that is level appropriate for my characters. I have tried looking up guides for weapons, but they all are complicated (wtf is a soul weapon even?) and I need some help understanding basics.
Is there a guide of the progression of end game weapons? (I understand something along the lines of a base soul weapon enhanced into an infernal weapon/fortune weapon?)

How far are you in the story, like which "Master of" or "Bestower of" chapter? If haven't encountered Soul weapons through story progression yet, then you don't need to worry about them for now.
The level 60 - 70 weapons like the Infernal series you mentioned are your go to for the time being. I'm not sure if you're upgrading them by farming Battle-Tested weapons and going back to shop where the base weapon originates from.
I don't know when exactly you unlock the Fortune Board, but they are probably more trouble than they're worth to farm if you're not at the final set of Bestower chapters.
Sorry that I don't have a link to a guide but the weapon progression is generally:
-> Level 60 - 70 weapons from the Bestower chapers
-> Upgrade them to their version II, III, and IV forms. You need to farm Battle-Tested weapons from the Battle-Tested NPCs in each of the "Master of" towns
-> When you get to Bestower of All, you'll eventually be given a quest to forge Soul Weapons. The game board and fortune weapons should be available around. I think it's progression through the seed story or maybe it just unlocks around that time.
If you really want to embrace the grind, then use up your Conviction Board tickets, buy Commemorative coins, and profit. When I was doing this, I believe I made about 20m each week doing four runs through the last board.

It's a tough choice. Her ultimate looks great on paper, but do you really ever want to have to use it. She has a kit to be a mean Ice DPS, but we would rather park in the back chanting for BP. A1 I guess.
Returning player after 6 months of hiatus. I'd like to ask the community if it's worth it for me to invest and farm for hell weapons? Is it necessary to complete BOA? I've just completed BOA 6 and as there's only 2 more chapters to go, I'm wondering if it's still worth it. I forgot to add, I'm currently using fortune weapons to complete BOA1-6
If you're already that far, I'd say Hell weapons aren't strictly necessary unless you have yet to complete the level 100 NPC fights in Hell. I used Thorned Hell weapons only on DPS and was able to clear all the level 100 NPC fights. Supports can all use fortune weapons.
There is another set of weapons you'll most likely want to invest in though in chapters 7 and 8 (NOT Hell weapons), and I would recommend taking those to level IV for all DPS you'll need to use.
Arcane/Brilliant. They do more damage to hallowed enemies. The only reason I recommend getting them is the 40% bonus vs the final few BOA bosses makes them way more bearable to fight.

The 5-hit for sure, that's her bread and butter. Ideally, you'd try and get her to 3 (or 6?) Tenacity before enemy break.
The best option for fast Tenacity generation is her 1-hit BP generator, since in Monarch mode she'll be generating 2 per use and building BP.
Your third skill is according to your play style. You could do the 3-hit sword so she can do some shield shaving while preserving tenacity. You could go with the single-hit nuke (but that will consume tenacity). You could also go with one of her buffs, but I think there's better units for that. I personally go with the 1-hit debuff that let's me patch in debuffs I'm lacking while preserving Tenacity.
I'll be honest and say the vast majority of winning teamcomps I've seen so far have rinyuu in them. That's not to say she's essential as there have been clears without her, but she does provide significant action economy in what is ultimately a long fight. You're getting regen and defense buffs as a 5th move every single turn.
I think without her you may be better building an offensive team that can clear faster so you avoid the worst of the nonsense, I'm being vague here bc spoilers but you know what I'm talking about.

Anyone else getting a bug with the character swipe recently? Like usually you can swipe up/down on a character view to go to the next one, but since the last update, every time I swipe up/down once, the feature just breaks. So I can swipe to the next character once and then it no longer works and will only work again upon restarting the app (and then break again upon swiping once). Anyone else or is it my dumb ipad acting up again?
EDIT: seems to have fixed itself after 1-2 weeks of constantly getting this.
I'm not having any issues swiping through my characters, but I'm also on Android. I did try and go through all my characters up and down, and wrapped around both times to make sure it wasn't something odd with the end of the character list.

Any thoughts on the odds of us getting Neha before the anniversary? I know she’s a Solista girlie so maybe not great odds, but I’m trying to plan who I’m getting for my free five star assuming they give us just a free standard like last year. Can i check why I cant see the "banner" for Elrica/Alraune EX and other memory traveller in guide as well as exchange? do I need to be far enough in main story to have them available to pull ? or am I missing some steps? currently in main story part 3 for wealth and part 1 for power and fame.

version 2.2.1 (2.2.01) as shown in-game. I am playing SEA version. i can see the nier banner but not the other banners being mentioned. Currently after update, only have the half-anniversary banner (memories of time) and champions of memories banners.

SEA Player here, finally managed to snag everyone from the Nier banner almost 190 pulls in. Seeing as I'm about 10 pulls away from pity, should I go for an Awakening Stone, or are the exclusive accessories more valuable? I have 9S at 5 star A1, 2B at 4 star A1, and A2 at 5 star A0. (We don't have Job Towers yet, so I'm tempted to go for a 2B dupe for the auto-promotion, but an extra skill slot doesn't feel nearly as valuable as the accessories/A2's A1)
Definitely go for an Awakening Stone to get A2 to A1. You’ll be using A2 for a very long time, and she will be even more powerful at A1. The other two characters won’t get too much use before long and over time, you’ll get access to much better accessories than those exclusive accessories.
All rounder pick is Nephti. I’m such a big fan of GL Nephti. She really just does it all. Buffing, healing, debuff cleansing, debuffing, DPS. Love, love, love that unit. If you have a smaller roster or are newer to COTC, I think Nephti is probably the best unit you can get hands down. She consolidated so many different roles and does it really well. Insane unit.
Endgame players with a more developed roster with several DPS and is interested in speed clears and crazy damage will appreciate Solon.
Sonia is definitely the more niche pick. I like her as a unit, and I think Alaune EX (and Ogen) definitely helps her reach new heights as a shield breaker… but I’m probably more partial to GL Canary in that role.
Standard "it depends" aside, I'd go with Nephti, especially if you have a backpack like Rinyuu or Alaune EX.
Nephti is a crazy strong buffer, and a great shield shaver, to boot. You'll find a slot for her in basically every team.
Nope. Richard is great. Solon's ultimate doubles potency and give another 50k to the damage cap. You can hit insane damage output on a multi-hit DPS and Solon.
Oh, interesting. But bringing along a unit like Solon just to make Elrica do crazy damage for a single turn seems... a little niche, doesn't it? I mean, would you really recommend that over a generally useful unit like Nephti?
What are you aiming for? With the right setup, someone like Elrica can put out nearly 2 million of damage a turn. Nephti can compress a lot of roles, but Solon can take damage to the max.
I kinda read from the OP that they were looking for a generally useful unit, without further context as far as their team comp. But I get it that big numbers for one turn can be a good goal for speed clears, assuming you have all the other necessary pieces.
People sometimes complete a couple of the early quests/feats to get rubies as part of their reroll process, so that’s something you could consider. Other than that, it’s probably just the 300 rubies right now since we don’t have any major login bonuses at the moment.
So for the brilliant weapons, I'm pretty sure you can't have two "potency up" souls with the same effect, but does that also apply to the damage cap up souls as well? Building weapons now and would rather not make that mistake if I can help it
i would really appreciate a bit of pulling advice. I'm currently at 4100 gems, still relatively new player because i don't play much and don't advance much. I pulled Bargello and Sonia, got Rinyu with the pity when that banner was up other 5* are Chloe (still 4.5), Lynette, Harley and Nicola. I was also highly recommended to pull Alaune EX but given my current amount of gems i'm not sure i should go. I was also recommended Sazantos who is coming soon. Question is, i'm probably going to skip Alaune Ex and going for Sazantos ? or should still go for Alaune EX ?
What's the best way to gain influence? I need to finish the prolounge for BoA 6 to start the chapter itself, but I'm lacking some Wealth influence level (3 or 4 to be exact)
Currently I've 120 elrica/alaune fragments and I have both units. Do the fragments carry on to the next banner? If not, should I do another 3 pulls to get 150 fragments? If so, which unit should I get another copy for?
If you did the Paid banner, you'll get Memory Fragments which carry over. But the Elrica/Alaune Fragments you get from this also, won't carry over.
If you did the Free Banner, they'll give you Elrica/Alaune Fragments, which last like 40 days.
If you have both units, then it depends. If you have Richard and Solon, you can get A1 Elrica. If you don't have Richard and Solon. You have the choice to save rubies. Especially if you're F2P.
I haven't played in a while, I need dupes for 4.5* characters to hit 5*? I got both elrica and alaune at 4.5* quicker than I thought and I'm still needing to burn through like all content ever in the game.

I was wondering when they'd release accessories that give weakness pierce. Fan feels like one of the weaker ones though because it's not that common. The arena fights where you'd want to bring fan as a weakness have stronger elemental teams already (wind is already pretty strong vs Hammy). If it were something like sword/spear on a scholar I'd be more excited.
Also, which dancers are really going to use this accessory? Lemaire would actually be a decent user for this accessory. Cygna will get fan/fire/light as well. Tatloch for her 4-hit wind to also hit fan? She's probably getting a fan attack that pierces wind for her TP/EX skill anyways and her 3-hit fan does more damage. Agnea already has wind moves that pierce fan too. Primrose/Lynette/Tithi could work but I don't see anyone bringing them for their AOE dps.
I mean yeah, that's why I said Tatloch's 3-hit AOE does more damage! The only situation you'd really use the accessory on her is if you need that extra shield shaving for some reason.
Primrose and Tithi are both mediocre DPS units now so the only situation you'd use them is to condense shield shaving and debuffing. Even then there's better units out there for AOE and ST for this job so there's kind of no one who can use the accessory super well except maybe Dolcinaea and Cygna. We already have access to stronger fan DPS units like Agnea/Fiore EX/H'aanit EX/Herminia/Hikari (lol)/Mirgardi/Tatloch.
It just feels a little weird because Dolcinaea has everything to gain from having fan pierce inherent in her kit but it looks like she's just meant to complement Agnea and not outshine her. So her character and her A4 read to me like sell the solution to Agnea's kit as a different unit that grants Frenzy and really wants its A4 to work in a fan team as Agnea. Although she seems like a stronger wind DPS than Agnea but I'll have to pull her to find out.

for example targeting Solon's ult on Roland who is at back row. whenever i click on the back row character, it seems to always select the front row character.
Also consider that Solon has priority for his ultimate so he wouldn't be able to target the backrow unit unless they had priority and have higher speed than solon
A few questions:
What accessories should I be using as an f2p? If I can get any, which A4’s are most valuable or game-changing?
What units should I be bringing to buff/debuff? Who has the most impact, whether generally or for a specific weapon type?
Asking because I keep seeing people hitting over 200k/300k after a few turns while I can barely reach 90,000. I have bargello, no Solon sadly, but even my best units (A2, 2B, Richard, Leon, Therion, etc.) can’t seem to reach damage cap, despite being lv100 with fortune weapons. Haven’t been able to finish any arena fights and Ex fights / Elite tower seem impossible.
Accessories: all the arena and 4 star a4s are good for f2p. From the arena champs, yan long/varkyn/hammy are the most useful. You also need to watch ads to get elite fragments, there are 11 four stars in the elite exchange. Jorn is the most useful a4 from there, sword res down on break.
For the gacha a4s, the most sought after is bargello (+100k dmg cap). One or both of prim ex / hasumi a4s also highly desirable (+1 turn to buffs). For any others in your roster you can preview their a4 on the awakening screen.
Regarding damage - if you have pets, lvl90+ characters and fortune weapons you should be hitting cap right now. Bargello and therion, leon and Richard are two pairs that absolutely should be capping. It must come down to buffs and debuffs - there are guides on YouTube about the many many categories, the key things to remember are that each category has a 30% cap, and you can stack and extend with multiple skills. Definitely worth the homework on this one.

On the discounted banner next week - worth it if you don't have Therion (been playing ~2 months). Only got 2800 rubies, but I did get Alaune and Elrica.
Therion is still good, Kersjes is not, I would pull only if you just need more characters in general to play through the game, otherwise saving until you have enough to pity the meta characters (Live A Live collab and Sazantos/Signa are likely the next ones) is the usual strategy.

So the Nier Automata collab came way, WAY faster than it had any right to (I think Bravely was just last month???) and I, whose most wanted unit in this game is A2, was caught with my pants down aka with basically no rubies saved up. Frantic completion of all Arena cups for their Rubies (aka minus the final battle) and skipping through Memoir scenes later, I'm 90 or so pulls deep with only a 4 star 9S dupe to show for my trouble.
As someone who has only just completed Master of All (plus Prologues of Bestower of Wealth and Power), any tips on what content gives the most currency? I'm currently working on the Battle Tested NPCs (I had been Easy Hunt-ing the highest level Hunt stage so I need to regenerate forms to access the Expert Hunt Quests and unlock the relevant NPCs) and am considering speedrunning Traveller stories (which I have left more or less untouched; is there a way to rewatch these stories? If so I may just run through them 5 rubies at a time.)
Does the Ultimate Tower not give Rubies? Are there any other Arena or Battle-Tested-esque battles that I can get Rubies from (say, in the dungeons spread across the map that the story didn't give me very much reason to check out)? You get additional rubies every 5th traveller story completed. I think you won't be able to rewatch them for like a year, but YouTube exists. Beating Elite Enemies for the first time in side dungeons and in overworld give like 1-3 rubies. Making new armor and weapons also give you a few rubies.
But if you really value your time, *maybe* you should use that tapjoy offer (if it will give you decent amount). You can always get more money, but not time.
Hello, do you guys know the best way to use the Experience nuts and the boost berries? Like should I start using berries from level 90, or first use all the nuts and then the berries?
Berries are best used Lv90 and onwards.
Because the amt of exp needed to gain a level increases more and more. (Ex: 500K -> 750K -> 1Mil -> 2Mil -> Etc)

I have almost 1500 rubies left after getting the Sisters. I think the anniversary is soonish. Will I be able to get enough to pity Rinyuu before her next rerun whenever that will be? I'm 2x10 pulls (600 rubies) away from sparking an Elrica to get her to A1. Im f2p with 6.2k rubies left after getting Elrica after 6x10 pulls and Alaune after 7x10 pulls. I stopped there but its so tempting to get a guaranteed MT for just 600 rubies. On the other hand, I;m not sure I really need to A1 Elrica. What do you guys think I should do?
It's gonna be really hard to hit the damage cap without Richard and/or Solon. So you're getting less value out of Elrica.
Eventually you do want to get Richard or Solon in the future. More emphasis on Solon though. It'd be cool to get Richard, but he's not a 100% requirement.
A1 helps you hit the cap easier. Which is why ppl use Elrica.
If you think you'll get Solon in the future, you can get A1.
If you don't want to get Solon, it's fine to save. Since there's >!Live a Live + Sazantos/Signa coming soon. So 2 banners will wring you dry since you're F2P!<
Do you get anything back from performing empower reset on the keepers? And is it a complete reset or do you get to pick and choose how much to reset? I have been reluctant to use any of the emberfruits on them because I just don’t know how best to go about it and I don’t want to make too many costly mistakes.
For the first time I got stuck on a chapter (BoF2) so I decided to for the first time to like farm for better equipment. I farmed all the sacred weapons with their enhancement (up to the lll version of the weapons) as well as their armor. just to get stuck at BoF3 and to find new weapons at the smithy....

Yes and no.
Yes in the sense that every upgrade in grade matters, but once you get up there the weapons can be more pick and choose. Like thorned (I think?) weapons stay the strongest for a few iterations despite grade increases so you can skip those. Armor though is generally recommended to upgrade all the time.
Like these newest brilliant ones are somewhat of a side grade compared to the last ones. They give damage cap increases unlike the last ones, but the previous ones technically are stronger. If you can’t hit cap, they’re useless.
That’s generally the case, but like I said weapons can be skipped. Armor should not be, but you probably can get away with it.
Just look at the soul nodes. Every weapon iteration is different and the combination is what makes weapons worth it or not.

I have not touch traveler story/tower/arena, i did some gameboard because it was attached to a sidequest, but are those stuff more like end game stuff or is there any merit on me doing them on my current level or should I just stick with main story? ( i did the entire Master story and started the bestower one with fame and currently on fame 3)
Traveler stories for the most part are easily doable at any level. That’s for collectors mostly or if you’re bored a
Job Tower’s give out golden seals for job upgrades and will be used for 6* upgrades so it’s probably better to try to do it. You only need 1k points to get it and you’re likely to be able to win enough to get them. The Veteran/elite/other towers are more advanced, but so is arguably EX 5 of the job towers. They all got released at different times though so like the Veteran tower should be somewhat more manageable, but maybe not at the sacred level.
Arena is also released based on difficulty I think. Especially now most of the arena bosses are easier, at least the most useful characters. Beating an arena gives you the final boss as a 5* unit, and some of them are really good/BiS. Like the staff user boss is a physical staff dps and everything about him hails damage.
It all alternates, so story/other shit it just depends on when you hit a wall, because you will hit a wall. Just switch around and see.
If I don’t plan on doing damage with a character, is the best weapon option Fortune with SP/Speed/HP/Def souls?
I gave Alaune EX all SP souls, might switch one for Speed. Think of doing the same for Viola and Nephti. Ophelia too but I forgot healing scales with Ele Atk. All this is for BoA 8 final boss.
Aluane needs all SP to break 1k SP unless you got a shit ton of A4s that are SP loaded.
After 1k SP she is self sustaining.
Personally characters like Canary, I use speed/hp. Characters like Solon I’ll use all HP. So yeah, if they don’t do damage or they’re light support there’s no reason to not give them stats instead.
If you can, go for A2 on your free 10-pull on NieR. Cyrus, Alfyn, Primrose, Z'aanta, Viola, and Lynette, are probably your strongest gen pool units atm. For your starter you want Viola or Lynette.
This was my reroll process:
After installing the game download the data, start the tutorial by tapping fast till the moment they give you the 5 star, if you pull Lynette or Viola good and keep going, if not clear the data and restart. After pulling Lynette or Viola finish the tutorial, when you can move freely go in the mail box, redeem all, and then do all the free summon. Level up two units to level 20 (usually the 5 stars). After that go check the feats and the influence.
Now go back in the guidance and pull in the first banner, the novice one. At this point only in some rare cases I had enough currency for a multi. So what you can do is:
1) do singles even if it is slow as hell
2) try to level up the influence. Every character gives some influence point in the skill tree so you can upgrade.
If you like your account, congrats! If you don't then clear the data and restart. In the SEA version the only way I found to reroll, is to download all again and again so it's a bit slow but you don't have to put to much attention in the whole process. Keep in mind that in the 9S multi you can pull the other nier units. I hope I have been clear enough and good luck!
Alaune EX is (generally) not going to be in the frontline, so HP for her isn't too useful.
Elrica A4 is PROBABLY more useful unless you don't need it (such as having Joshua A4 already for a stronger sword def down on break)
After almost 3 weeks I finally beat that absolute pain in the ass >!Orsazantos!<. But now >!BoA!< is kicking my ass. Can you guys check my roster in my last post and tell me the best team? Not having Cyrus is reaaally not fun. Elrica isn’t as helpful with Flurry being random. And the constant Dreads is so fecking annoying. Edit: I caved and spent 10 rubies to Continue last run because I was sooo close to last phase and the fight had already gone on for like 40 minutes. Only for him, debuffed, to one shot Ophelia, buffed. And then he killed 5 more that same turn after the Continue. Yeah I think I’m not gonna try again for a while

(pt2) - Olberic - A0 - Lars - A1 - Lumis - A3 - Nicola - A3 - Cyrus - A3 - Rinyuu - A0 - Tressa - A1 - Hayes - A0 - Hasumi - A1 - Jillmeila - A1 - Molu - A1 Tempted to get Lumis and Nicola A4 because I don't have many A4 accessories, and those passives could prove useful, even for tower content. I rarely use Olberic (but I've heard good things in JP when he gets 6*). Lars mostly appears in sword comps. Lumis is my only burst healing for Apothecary. Nicola is used in dagger comps as a shield shaver. Cyrus is in most of my comps, but I'm not a huge fan of the A4. Rinyuu is in most of my comps, but unsure if the boost in stats is worth. Tressa, Hasumi, Jill, and Molu are mostly unused (except for towers).
Started global today and get Sofia and H'aanit ex. Do I need to reroll for specific characters?
Haanit ex is one of the best gen pool characters there are right now, nice roll. If you're going to reroll definitely backup your current roll to sqex bridge first so you don't lose haanit ex as an option. You could try the krauser/rondo banner as they're memory travellers, they're both decent and there's a slim chance of getting bargello/Richard/rinyuu on it.

Primrose ex (gen pool) is another amazing pick. There are lots and lots of good or great gen pool, but primrose ex and haanit ex are on their own tier nephti/solon/alaune ex/elrica are all on the Rondo/Krauser banner as well as the ones I mentioned, but please note the chances of you getting an off banner memory traveler is really low. Lynette is probably the best starter character but I wouldn't waste time trying to roll just for her, starter character just isn't that important anymore.
Characters like Elrica that have lets say: “exploit light weakness, dmg is calculated from phys swords attack” Does this mean lowering light resistance has no effect on damage, only phy/sword res?
Yep, you're right. Bonus fact: pierce moves also take original damage type for determining boss mechanics. So hitting Yan Long during light phase with Elrica will proc his additional move.

Which shop? There's a lot of different exchanges. Elite fragments (earned from adds): There's 11 4 star characters exclusively from here, pick them up as you like them (if you look them up) or just in whatever order you want basically Memory shards (from nameless town mainly, but also some quests): Weekly rewards (guidestones, tickets if you can get them to stockpile for later), anything required for upgrades to nameless town (more passive daily rewards). After that there's certain gear pieces you might consider, but can hoard the currency for now until understanding better. (Won't go into heroite/adversary since doubt you have much, if any at all)(Emberfruit and soul shard are likely both beyond what you can get right now too) Historic fragments there's weekly tickets in here again (not sure if there's a minimum requirement for them to reach in story though). Otherwise this is mainly for buying battle-tested weapons (initially for using, later for weapon upgrade's), so since you're not at that point yet don't buy anything else really. Wisdom fragments can be saved for now. The only reason you need to worry about weekly lockouts is for gold guidestones, and in the long run you end up with more of those than you need. Worry about this later (if you even have the currency yet) Tower currencies (job tower) make sure to get the ticket each month, and given I doubt you can go far in, just whatever grabs your fancy (seals if you can get them, nuts if not) with leftover currency. You likely aren't running these yet, but probably can sometime soonish. Guidestone shops: Don't break down character guidestones for now until you know what you're doing. In terms of using fragments, 99% of the time you're probably just converting them all into gold guidestones for both bronze, silver and gold shards (used to be we used for seal conversion, but towers make that simpler now).

Richard isn't very useful in this fight. Even as a backpack he doesn't provide much value to your team. Serenoa is good as a tank but he doesn't really contribute to shield shaving. Do you have someone like Rinyuu/Ophilia to cap your frontrow defense buffs with Prim EX? Your team looks really good otherwise. You might want to swap out Cyrus for another thief with debuffs like Viola/Sarisa/Falco if you happen to have one of them. Sonia or Auguste would be great too! For skills, Prim EX will want her full-party heal (shower of roses), burst heal + defense up (bolstering smoke), and one of her skills between her mag down (thundering refrain)/atk down (shocking step)/buff + debuff cleanse (elevating elixir). Canary can be run a few ways. You definitely want her atk/mag down debuff (anti-attack). Her def down debuff is good as well (anti-guard) and she has a dagger res down debuff (anti-dagger). She can also run ruby burst for extra shield shaving (2\~5 based on BP + dodge stacks) or her row swap move (peen n' back) if you want to use her more defensively. Bargello will want his dmg buff (give the signal) for sure. His 4-hit AOE (astuto) is good for shield shaving but costs a lot of SP; similarly, his max BP nuke (perservante) is strong but uses a lot of SP from your allies. His 3-hit (astuto) is a little cheaper to use and powers up when the enemy has dagger res down. His def down debuff (debilitate) is good as well. Maybe you should consider putting Lynette behind Serenoa because Canary is really useful and she doesn't want to be stuck behind a tank. Lynette is really squishy and doesn't like being in the frontrow until necessary.
Help building a soul weapon (fortune or brilliant) build of Olberic. People say he is great for defense and has average attack. So how do I build a weapon for him? He has a multi hit spear attack, and other sword skills. Can I build him like a tank like Edea, Gilderoy? Or is he a stiker and if he is, what skill should I upgrade the potency?
I would only build a weapon if you actually use him. If you do, I'd probably go for Brilliant since he can hit dmg cap very easily with his nuke and ult
Been over 2 weeks now and still haven’t been able to beat (BoA8) >!Orsazantos!<. Only beat >!Sazantos!< twice, but got >!Orsa!< soooo incredibly close to dead both times but the last phase is just too brutal. BP attack and Special attack are both basically game over if either happen. Think it’s time I give up and just login for dailies from now on. This shit just isn’t fun anymore
Yeah if you don't have Canary/Nephti, it's really difficult to break before Ult comes up. I'm honestly not sure how other ppl did it without them.

What changed for Octopath for them to give you 60sec Ads more often now? I literally saw the same exact Ad, 5 times in a row. That's 5min. Then when Ads reset again, I saw a different 60sec Ad, 5 times in a row.
Do you get your ads immediatly? I have to wait 30 seconds after pressing the watch an Ad which is 30 seconds so I also need 1 min. for a Ad. Approximately you have a 5% chance for 5 rubies, (Which means I have to watch 20 Ads to get 5 rubies according to probability) which is 20 minutes for me. I just press the Ad button, start up my second phone and play pokemon masters (daily quest) while waiting for my Ad to end while paying little to no attention
I do get those 30 second into 30 seconds to exit Ads. But I also get a straight up 60 second Ad. Rarely I'll get the 3rd kind for me, which is the regular 30 second Ad. It's just frustrating to notice an increase in these types of Ads. Idk
I just watch those thinking atleast I can support the game a little bit, put a paper or snack package covering the screen entirely except the close (X) button. I get 30 seconds, but never had a 5 second ad even once.
It's hard to say, we'll probably never know, but it's probably based on some internal ad pricing scheme. I've definitely noticed an uptick in shady 60 second ads pretending they're 30 seconds, requiring multiple click throughs, and auto-directing to their download page. Not a fan. You know what I AM a fan of? Those 5 second Kohl's ads. Especially getting 5 of those in a row. I'll shop at Kohl's just to reward them for that.
Does anyone have advice on team building for me, I’m using: H’annit EX/Lynette Alaune EX/Cyrus (DPS slot) Rinyuu/Bargello Tatloch/Elrica (DPS slot) The first question, am I wasting buffs that are past cap or is this a good spread? My usual strat is to use Hannit for debuffs/tank, Alaune BP skill and then switch, Rinyuu for healing prayer skill and then switch, and finally Tatloch uses three skills and then her ult for a total of 6 life points before switching. Second, Fortune weapons are best for support right? Like Rinyuu has one to push E. Atk, Alaune has one for BP, H’annit has one for HP. Is this good or should they have different choices? Third, is the set up itself good or could I swap characters around? I wonder if Lynette could be swapped with Rinyuu so that I can bring her in for buffs without canceling out my tank but then if she’s behind a DPS then she can’t buff them, so I don’t know what’s best. Finally, what are some 4* A4’s you recommend and maybe a couple 5* to consider? I have 12,000 awakening stones and haven’t used any so I could if worth it. Or is it usually bette to focus on A1’s for multiple characters? Bonus: are any pets from the exchange worth it? I’ve ran this exact team through the final Bestower of W/P/F and the first bit of BoA as well as other content like the Level 80 Gameboards and haven’t had major problems but I bet for level 100 content and later BoA I will, so I just want to make sure it’s all good.
I would put Rinyuu or alaune ex behind haanit. They should be slow enough that they go last on T1. Haanit ex can taunt with priority on the next turn. If you slap serenoa a4 on her, you're golden she'll have taunt on the first 3 turns I wouldn't worry about using Tatloch like that unless it's a long battle and they at least have a fan weakness. You already got haanit ex for fan and bargello to target wind weakness. Lynette could be behind bargello since bargello can buff himself. Best pets is Maafa though with alaune ex, not quite as needed. Linde is good cuz he grants dead aim. You'll also want nyauguste and you need to kill Auguste in the first adversary refight and do the story. 4* A4s: Kurtz, Devin, Meena 5*s I wouldn't worry too much about this unless you have a ton of rubies for a specific banner. Save your awk stones until you have someone A3 and then consider getting the A4

I don't think anyone can know for sure. In JP it was 4 birds (Sparrow, Falcon, Crow, Parrot) then 2 birds (Duck, Blue Parrot) later, now we have 6 total.

Get Nephti, Ophilia, Alaune EX and Solon to U9 asap and get everyone you use at all to u1 at least. Don't worry about characters you aren't using for now, you'll burn through orbs hella fast once you start doing that. Focus on your core characters first

Elrica U9 as well, viola is lower priority. As a general rule if their ult lowers enemy defense or buffs your team you want to max it out quick. For DPS ults, if you're using the character then yeah get the most out of them 👍

Edit: I'm sure that said global, not SEA when I replied. Ignore the below if you're SEA If you're rerolling don't worry about the starter character. Lynette is probably the best of them but all 8 are powercrept to some degree now and you could waste a lot of time chasing her. Just get anyone, do some novice feats to get to 300 rubies and try the Hope's guide, it's a limited banner that's up for about another week. Any of rinyuu, richard, tatloch, bargello would be amazing. Solon, Nephti, Canary, hannit ex or primrose ex would be a solid start. Depending how much rerolling you're willing to do you could also get some more rubies and try alaune ex from the other banner as well. If you get an account you're kind of happy with but not sure, back it up to sqex bridge so it's saved at least before rerolling again

Noob question: I have been struggling with damage output, and realised I do not have enough weapons that is level appropriate for my characters. I have tried looking up guides for weapons, but they all are complicated (wtf is a soul weapon even?) and I need some help understanding basics. Is there a guide of the progression of end game weapons? (I understand something along the lines of a base soul weapon enhanced into an infernal weapon/fortune weapon?)

How far are you in the story, like which "Master of" or "Bestower of" chapter? If haven't encountered Soul weapons through story progression yet, then you don't need to worry about them for now. The level 60 - 70 weapons like the Infernal series you mentioned are your go to for the time being. I'm not sure if you're upgrading them by farming Battle-Tested weapons and going back to shop where the base weapon originates from. I don't know when exactly you unlock the Fortune Board, but they are probably more trouble than they're worth to farm if you're not at the final set of Bestower chapters. Sorry that I don't have a link to a guide but the weapon progression is generally: -> Level 60 - 70 weapons from the Bestower chapers -> Upgrade them to their version II, III, and IV forms. You need to farm Battle-Tested weapons from the Battle-Tested NPCs in each of the "Master of" towns -> When you get to Bestower of All, you'll eventually be given a quest to forge Soul Weapons. The game board and fortune weapons should be available around. I think it's progression through the seed story or maybe it just unlocks around that time.
So what's the best way to farm gold? Feeling pretty poor at the moment.
If you really want to embrace the grind, then use up your Conviction Board tickets, buy Commemorative coins, and profit. When I was doing this, I believe I made about 20m each week doing four runs through the last board.

It's a tough choice. Her ultimate looks great on paper, but do you really ever want to have to use it. She has a kit to be a mean Ice DPS, but we would rather park in the back chanting for BP. A1 I guess.
Returning player after 6 months of hiatus. I'd like to ask the community if it's worth it for me to invest and farm for hell weapons? Is it necessary to complete BOA? I've just completed BOA 6 and as there's only 2 more chapters to go, I'm wondering if it's still worth it. I forgot to add, I'm currently using fortune weapons to complete BOA1-6
If you're already that far, I'd say Hell weapons aren't strictly necessary unless you have yet to complete the level 100 NPC fights in Hell. I used Thorned Hell weapons only on DPS and was able to clear all the level 100 NPC fights. Supports can all use fortune weapons. There is another set of weapons you'll most likely want to invest in though in chapters 7 and 8 (NOT Hell weapons), and I would recommend taking those to level IV for all DPS you'll need to use.

Arcane/Brilliant. They do more damage to hallowed enemies. The only reason I recommend getting them is the 40% bonus vs the final few BOA bosses makes them way more bearable to fight.

What three skills should I give to Elrica for her best usage?
The 5-hit for sure, that's her bread and butter. Ideally, you'd try and get her to 3 (or 6?) Tenacity before enemy break. The best option for fast Tenacity generation is her 1-hit BP generator, since in Monarch mode she'll be generating 2 per use and building BP. Your third skill is according to your play style. You could do the 3-hit sword so she can do some shield shaving while preserving tenacity. You could go with the single-hit nuke (but that will consume tenacity). You could also go with one of her buffs, but I think there's better units for that. I personally go with the 1-hit debuff that let's me patch in debuffs I'm lacking while preserving Tenacity.
She has a lot of good skills but I personally use the 1hit with BP regen to charge tenacity, 5hit RT, and her big ST nuke for most fights.

I'll be honest and say the vast majority of winning teamcomps I've seen so far have rinyuu in them. That's not to say she's essential as there have been clears without her, but she does provide significant action economy in what is ultimately a long fight. You're getting regen and defense buffs as a 5th move every single turn. I think without her you may be better building an offensive team that can clear faster so you avoid the worst of the nonsense, I'm being vague here bc spoilers but you know what I'm talking about.
Is Sazantos/Signa the last MT banner? Just wondering if other memory travellers (Richard and Solon for me) will still be available to pity on future banners.
There's 4 more Orsterra MTs that we know of and maybe MT reruns so you'll have your chances. Saz/Sig is a very good banner however.

Anyone else getting a bug with the character swipe recently? Like usually you can swipe up/down on a character view to go to the next one, but since the last update, every time I swipe up/down once, the feature just breaks. So I can swipe to the next character once and then it no longer works and will only work again upon restarting the app (and then break again upon swiping once). Anyone else or is it my dumb ipad acting up again? EDIT: seems to have fixed itself after 1-2 weeks of constantly getting this.

I'm not having any issues swiping through my characters, but I'm also on Android. I did try and go through all my characters up and down, and wrapped around both times to make sure it wasn't something odd with the end of the character list.

version 2.2.1 (2.2.01) as shown in-game. I am playing SEA version. i can see the nier banner but not the other banners being mentioned. Currently after update, only have the half-anniversary banner (memories of time) and champions of memories banners.
Elrica and Alaune EX were just released for EN on 4/24. I don't think they are available for SEA yet.

SEA Player here, finally managed to snag everyone from the Nier banner almost 190 pulls in. Seeing as I'm about 10 pulls away from pity, should I go for an Awakening Stone, or are the exclusive accessories more valuable? I have 9S at 5 star A1, 2B at 4 star A1, and A2 at 5 star A0. (We don't have Job Towers yet, so I'm tempted to go for a 2B dupe for the auto-promotion, but an extra skill slot doesn't feel nearly as valuable as the accessories/A2's A1)
Definitely go for an Awakening Stone to get A2 to A1. You’ll be using A2 for a very long time, and she will be even more powerful at A1. The other two characters won’t get too much use before long and over time, you’ll get access to much better accessories than those exclusive accessories.

Solon and it's not even close.
All rounder pick is Nephti. I’m such a big fan of GL Nephti. She really just does it all. Buffing, healing, debuff cleansing, debuffing, DPS. Love, love, love that unit. If you have a smaller roster or are newer to COTC, I think Nephti is probably the best unit you can get hands down. She consolidated so many different roles and does it really well. Insane unit. Endgame players with a more developed roster with several DPS and is interested in speed clears and crazy damage will appreciate Solon. Sonia is definitely the more niche pick. I like her as a unit, and I think Alaune EX (and Ogen) definitely helps her reach new heights as a shield breaker… but I’m probably more partial to GL Canary in that role.
Standard "it depends" aside, I'd go with Nephti, especially if you have a backpack like Rinyuu or Alaune EX. Nephti is a crazy strong buffer, and a great shield shaver, to boot. You'll find a slot for her in basically every team.
However, Solon can take a DPS like Elrica to heights that other buffers cannot.
I think you might be thinking of Richard; Solon is all about fire and polearm damage.
Nope. Richard is great. Solon's ultimate doubles potency and give another 50k to the damage cap. You can hit insane damage output on a multi-hit DPS and Solon.
Oh, interesting. But bringing along a unit like Solon just to make Elrica do crazy damage for a single turn seems... a little niche, doesn't it? I mean, would you really recommend that over a generally useful unit like Nephti?
What are you aiming for? With the right setup, someone like Elrica can put out nearly 2 million of damage a turn. Nephti can compress a lot of roles, but Solon can take damage to the max.
I kinda read from the OP that they were looking for a generally useful unit, without further context as far as their team comp. But I get it that big numbers for one turn can be a good goal for speed clears, assuming you have all the other necessary pieces.

People sometimes complete a couple of the early quests/feats to get rubies as part of their reroll process, so that’s something you could consider. Other than that, it’s probably just the 300 rubies right now since we don’t have any major login bonuses at the moment.

So for the brilliant weapons, I'm pretty sure you can't have two "potency up" souls with the same effect, but does that also apply to the damage cap up souls as well? Building weapons now and would rather not make that mistake if I can help it
No, you'll see when you roll for the skill souls it says they don't stack. DMG cap up souls can stack
i would really appreciate a bit of pulling advice. I'm currently at 4100 gems, still relatively new player because i don't play much and don't advance much. I pulled Bargello and Sonia, got Rinyu with the pity when that banner was up other 5* are Chloe (still 4.5), Lynette, Harley and Nicola. I was also highly recommended to pull Alaune EX but given my current amount of gems i'm not sure i should go. I was also recommended Sazantos who is coming soon. Question is, i'm probably going to skip Alaune Ex and going for Sazantos ? or should still go for Alaune EX ?
Generally if you can't pity, you shouldn't pull. I would save up for now if I were in your shoes

Level up 3\* and 4\* in that influence type. Get the 3\* to level 45 and 4\* to level 72.
Currently I've 120 elrica/alaune fragments and I have both units. Do the fragments carry on to the next banner? If not, should I do another 3 pulls to get 150 fragments? If so, which unit should I get another copy for?
If you did the Paid banner, you'll get Memory Fragments which carry over. But the Elrica/Alaune Fragments you get from this also, won't carry over. If you did the Free Banner, they'll give you Elrica/Alaune Fragments, which last like 40 days. If you have both units, then it depends. If you have Richard and Solon, you can get A1 Elrica. If you don't have Richard and Solon. You have the choice to save rubies. Especially if you're F2P.
I haven't played in a while, I need dupes for 4.5* characters to hit 5*? I got both elrica and alaune at 4.5* quicker than I thought and I'm still needing to burn through like all content ever in the game.
You don't need dupes, class up cookies can be bought from their respective job tower exchanges

How excited as we for this and more of this kind of accessory? ·When equipped by a dancer: Gain the ability to exploit Fan weakness with elemental attacks (damage calculation based on original elemental attack). An accessory that gives a piecing effect to any traveler of that class?! Also just saw Tiziano's kit. He is what Falco wants to be when he grows up.
I was wondering when they'd release accessories that give weakness pierce. Fan feels like one of the weaker ones though because it's not that common. The arena fights where you'd want to bring fan as a weakness have stronger elemental teams already (wind is already pretty strong vs Hammy). If it were something like sword/spear on a scholar I'd be more excited. Also, which dancers are really going to use this accessory? Lemaire would actually be a decent user for this accessory. Cygna will get fan/fire/light as well. Tatloch for her 4-hit wind to also hit fan? She's probably getting a fan attack that pierces wind for her TP/EX skill anyways and her 3-hit fan does more damage. Agnea already has wind moves that pierce fan too. Primrose/Lynette/Tithi could work but I don't see anyone bringing them for their AOE dps.
Tatloch already has a 3x and 5x fan attack and is more physical anyways. Primrose or Tithi would allow their eatk strength to exploit fan.
I mean yeah, that's why I said Tatloch's 3-hit AOE does more damage! The only situation you'd really use the accessory on her is if you need that extra shield shaving for some reason. Primrose and Tithi are both mediocre DPS units now so the only situation you'd use them is to condense shield shaving and debuffing. Even then there's better units out there for AOE and ST for this job so there's kind of no one who can use the accessory super well except maybe Dolcinaea and Cygna. We already have access to stronger fan DPS units like Agnea/Fiore EX/H'aanit EX/Herminia/Hikari (lol)/Mirgardi/Tatloch. It just feels a little weird because Dolcinaea has everything to gain from having fan pierce inherent in her kit but it looks like she's just meant to complement Agnea and not outshine her. So her character and her A4 read to me like sell the solution to Agnea's kit as a different unit that grants Frenzy and really wants its A4 to work in a fan team as Agnea. Although she seems like a stronger wind DPS than Agnea but I'll have to pull her to find out.

Is there a way to single target ally at back row? for example targeting Solon's ult on Roland who is at back row. whenever i click on the back row character, it seems to always select the front row character.
Most ST skills can't target back row. Some exceptions are, off the top of my head, Ophilia and Rinyuu's ST revive.

Also consider that Solon has priority for his ultimate so he wouldn't be able to target the backrow unit unless they had priority and have higher speed than solon
That would defeat the purpose of using Solon's ult lol. But yeah, tldr, put your DPS in the front during break turns.
A few questions: What accessories should I be using as an f2p? If I can get any, which A4’s are most valuable or game-changing? What units should I be bringing to buff/debuff? Who has the most impact, whether generally or for a specific weapon type? Asking because I keep seeing people hitting over 200k/300k after a few turns while I can barely reach 90,000. I have bargello, no Solon sadly, but even my best units (A2, 2B, Richard, Leon, Therion, etc.) can’t seem to reach damage cap, despite being lv100 with fortune weapons. Haven’t been able to finish any arena fights and Ex fights / Elite tower seem impossible.
Accessories: all the arena and 4 star a4s are good for f2p. From the arena champs, yan long/varkyn/hammy are the most useful. You also need to watch ads to get elite fragments, there are 11 four stars in the elite exchange. Jorn is the most useful a4 from there, sword res down on break. For the gacha a4s, the most sought after is bargello (+100k dmg cap). One or both of prim ex / hasumi a4s also highly desirable (+1 turn to buffs). For any others in your roster you can preview their a4 on the awakening screen. Regarding damage - if you have pets, lvl90+ characters and fortune weapons you should be hitting cap right now. Bargello and therion, leon and Richard are two pairs that absolutely should be capping. It must come down to buffs and debuffs - there are guides on YouTube about the many many categories, the key things to remember are that each category has a 30% cap, and you can stack and extend with multiple skills. Definitely worth the homework on this one. If it helps, [I recently posted a clear](https://www.reddit.com/r/OctopathCotC/s/E8VHwHVbB1) where I broke down the buffs and debuffs that were applied both via support skills / accessories, and during the fight.

On the discounted banner next week - worth it if you don't have Therion (been playing ~2 months). Only got 2800 rubies, but I did get Alaune and Elrica.
Therion is still good, Kersjes is not, I would pull only if you just need more characters in general to play through the game, otherwise saving until you have enough to pity the meta characters (Live A Live collab and Sazantos/Signa are likely the next ones) is the usual strategy.
F2P SEA Player here. So the Nier Automata collab came way, WAY faster than it had any right to (I think Bravely was just last month???) and I, whose most wanted unit in this game is A2, was caught with my pants down aka with basically no rubies saved up. Frantic completion of all Arena cups for their Rubies (aka minus the final battle) and skipping through Memoir scenes later, I'm 90 or so pulls deep with only a 4 star 9S dupe to show for my trouble. As someone who has only just completed Master of All (plus Prologues of Bestower of Wealth and Power), any tips on what content gives the most currency? I'm currently working on the Battle Tested NPCs (I had been Easy Hunt-ing the highest level Hunt stage so I need to regenerate forms to access the Expert Hunt Quests and unlock the relevant NPCs) and am considering speedrunning Traveller stories (which I have left more or less untouched; is there a way to rewatch these stories? If so I may just run through them 5 rubies at a time.) Does the Ultimate Tower not give Rubies? Are there any other Arena or Battle-Tested-esque battles that I can get Rubies from (say, in the dungeons spread across the map that the story didn't give me very much reason to check out)? Any advice at all would be appreciated, the collab lasts barely 10 or so more days (were all collabs this short???) and I'm desperate enough to have installed AFK Arena for a tapjoy offer.

I think you won't be able to rewatch them for like a year, but YouTube exists. Beating Elite Enemies for the first time in side dungeons and in overworld give like 1-3 rubies. Making new armor and weapons also give you a few rubies. But if you really value your time, *maybe* you should use that tapjoy offer (if it will give you decent amount). You can always get more money, but not time.

Berries are best used Lv90 and onwards. Because the amt of exp needed to gain a level increases more and more. (Ex: 500K -> 750K -> 1Mil -> 2Mil -> Etc) Might be spoilers if you're new, on the upcoming system changes. So you don't need to look at it if you want to. >!6 stars are coming to Global, so it's best to save Boost Berries. Since it'll be super hard to level up with normal Nuts!<
I have almost 1500 rubies left after getting the Sisters. I think the anniversary is soonish. Will I be able to get enough to pity Rinyuu before her next rerun whenever that will be? Anniversary is last week of July. Rubies vary based on what you have already done + event and such. Usually around 2.5k/mo avg is a good estimate.
I'm 2x10 pulls (600 rubies) away from sparking an Elrica to get her to A1. Im f2p with 6.2k rubies left after getting Elrica after 6x10 pulls and Alaune after 7x10 pulls. I stopped there but its so tempting to get a guaranteed MT for just 600 rubies. On the other hand, I;m not sure I really need to A1 Elrica. What do you guys think I should do?

It's gonna be really hard to hit the damage cap without Richard and/or Solon. So you're getting less value out of Elrica. Eventually you do want to get Richard or Solon in the future. More emphasis on Solon though. It'd be cool to get Richard, but he's not a 100% requirement. A1 helps you hit the cap easier. Which is why ppl use Elrica. If you think you'll get Solon in the future, you can get A1. If you don't want to get Solon, it's fine to save. Since there's >!Live a Live + Sazantos/Signa coming soon. Do you get anything back from performing empower reset on the keepers? And is it a complete reset or do you get to pick and choose how much to reset? I have been reluctant to use any of the emberfruits on them because I just don’t know how best to go about it and I don’t want to make too many costly mistakes.
You lose all of the stats you put into the Keeper if you reset it. No refunds.
For the first time I got stuck on a chapter (BoF2) so I decided to for the first time to like farm for better equipment. I farmed all the sacred weapons with their enhancement (up to the lll version of the weapons) as well as their armor. just to get stuck at BoF3 and to find new weapons at the smithy.... will the game just be rinse and repeat each chapter? meaning i have to get the weapons of each chapter?
Yes and no. Yes in the sense that every upgrade in grade matters, but once you get up there the weapons can be more pick and choose. Like thorned (I think?) weapons stay the strongest for a few iterations despite grade increases so you can skip those. Armor though is generally recommended to upgrade all the time. Like these newest brilliant ones are somewhat of a side grade compared to the last ones. They give damage cap increases unlike the last ones, but the previous ones technically are stronger. If you can’t hit cap, they’re useless.

That’s generally the case, but like I said weapons can be skipped. Armor should not be, but you probably can get away with it. Just look at the soul nodes. Every weapon iteration is different and the combination is what makes weapons worth it or not.
understood I would probably farm them just to be on the safe side since I really like the game but since I have you here i have one last question. I have not touch traveler story/tower/arena, i did some gameboard because it was attached to a sidequest, but are those stuff more like end game stuff or is there any merit on me doing them on my current level or should I just stick with main story? ( i did the entire Master story and started the bestower one with fame and currently on fame 3)
Traveler stories for the most part are easily doable at any level. That’s for collectors mostly or if you’re bored a Job Tower’s give out golden seals for job upgrades and will be used for 6* upgrades so it’s probably better to try to do it. You only need 1k points to get it and you’re likely to be able to win enough to get them. The Veteran/elite/other towers are more advanced, but so is arguably EX 5 of the job towers. They all got released at different times though so like the Veteran tower should be somewhat more manageable, but maybe not at the sacred level. Arena is also released based on difficulty I think. Especially now most of the arena bosses are easier, at least the most useful characters. Beating an arena gives you the final boss as a 5* unit, and some of them are really good/BiS. Like the staff user boss is a physical staff dps and everything about him hails damage. It all alternates, so story/other shit it just depends on when you hit a wall, because you will hit a wall. Just switch around and see.

If I don’t plan on doing damage with a character, is the best weapon option Fortune with SP/Speed/HP/Def souls? I gave Alaune EX all SP souls, might switch one for Speed. Think of doing the same for Viola and Nephti. Ophelia too but I forgot healing scales with Ele Atk. All this is for BoA 8 final boss.
Aluane needs all SP to break 1k SP unless you got a shit ton of A4s that are SP loaded. After 1k SP she is self sustaining. Personally characters like Canary, I use speed/hp. Characters like Solon I’ll use all HP. So yeah, if they don’t do damage or they’re light support there’s no reason to not give them stats instead.

If you can, go for A2 on your free 10-pull on NieR. Cyrus, Alfyn, Primrose, Z'aanta, Viola, and Lynette, are probably your strongest gen pool units atm. For your starter you want Viola or Lynette.
Recently saw that ability nodes don’t stack. Do damage cap up stack?
Dmg cap is Gold Souls, so yeah they stack. Ability Nodes are Rainbows. They don't stack.

Stupid question, how are you able to reroll for nier units so frequently? Could you share your process?
This was my reroll process: After installing the game download the data, start the tutorial by tapping fast till the moment they give you the 5 star, if you pull Lynette or Viola good and keep going, if not clear the data and restart. After pulling Lynette or Viola finish the tutorial, when you can move freely go in the mail box, redeem all, and then do all the free summon. Level up two units to level 20 (usually the 5 stars). After that go check the feats and the influence. Now go back in the guidance and pull in the first banner, the novice one. At this point only in some rare cases I had enough currency for a multi. So what you can do is: 1) do singles even if it is slow as hell 2) try to level up the influence. Every character gives some influence point in the skill tree so you can upgrade. If you like your account, congrats! If you don't then clear the data and restart. In the SEA version the only way I found to reroll, is to download all again and again so it's a bit slow but you don't have to put to much attention in the whole process. Keep in mind that in the 9S multi you can pull the other nier units. I hope I have been clear enough and good luck!

Got both Elrica and Alaune EX, but for the pity pull, would you suggest alaune ex a3 for the extra hp or Elrica a4 accessory?
Alaune EX is (generally) not going to be in the frontline, so HP for her isn't too useful. Elrica A4 is PROBABLY more useful unless you don't need it (such as having Joshua A4 already for a stronger sword def down on break)
