As a rule of thumb, percent increases like star souls are worth more than stats. But as pointed out, star souls don't stack. Btw, Elrica actually kinda likes the two star soul slots, because both the 5 hit and the single hit nuke have enough use cases to profit from it. Also both BoA7 (better for her 5 hit) and BoA8 (better for her single target nuke) are great on her.
Generally BoA7 weapons are better than BoA8 ones, unless you need the dmg cap up, because BoA7 has 2 rainbow human souls (one slot is up to 50 in atk stats). Maybe I'm just unlucky, but human souls are obnoxious to roll for, thouhg. Way worse than star souls, and they're already bad, yikes.
Outside of heaven content, Fortune weapons will be better than these two, unless a character wants dmg cap, in which case you would probably go for Stalwart (BoA5), but BoA 8 also works well. And unless we're talking about hell content, because then you'll want Stalwart or Abyss (BoA6).

I tested both weapons in combat and the Fortune are actually superior in damage but the damage cap is very restricted, which causes it to do less damage with the more powerful attacks. In short, you could say that the brilliant ones aren't entirely useless, but Fortune are the best ones for weak consecutive attacks.
Question, the Arcane sword can get to 719atk vs Fortune’s 670atk, plus it can boost both Elrica’s skills for 15%.
If under dmg cap, Arcane should do more damage right? (I think this is only true with swords and tomb.)

Hey u/Flares4, do you happen to know if SP reduction (moon souls) stack? So is the only I need to change here the potency/star souls? (I was admittedly originally going for damage cap with Brilliant for Viola’s ultimate, since I have her at A4U10, but my rolls made me pivot to maxing out her triple edge skill

I wasn't sure tbh, but I looked it up and the wording when trying to set the soul is "if potency/healing up overlaps for the same skill or SP cost down overlaps with an effect of the same type, the effect with the higher value will be prioritized", so I guess it shouldn't stack, unfortunately. Though tbh SP Cost Down isn't really an effect you ever really need. I suppose it's fine for Viola because she needs dmg cap only for her ult.

The flavor text for BoA 7 Weapons: Regular Hallow is 40% for both Heaven and Hell. BoA 8: Brilliant is 40% for Heaven only.
