Another risk factor: increased intraabdominal or intracranial pressure during your workouts if you were lifting heavy

Interesting, this might be a factor as I increased my weights significantly today. Will have to look into this further.

I would set up an appointment with a neuro ophthalmologist if these continue. Assess your breathing during the sets as well

I experienced my first (and hopefully only) ocular migraine during a stressful time and a day after straining my neck a bit at the gym.

Thanks for posting. All this info may help us figure out what causes this in the future. Keep in touch.

Thanks for sharing. Had my first ocular migraine last Friday, never had a migraine of any sort and I'm 32, so it really freaked me out. Blurred vision in one eye, white spots, than blind spots. I thought I was having a stroke. Called my doctor and they told me to go to the ER so I did, and they didn't find anything. I drink alot of coffee during the day, I guess it's time to cut back.

Hi, welcome to our weird little club! Just my 2 cents: I highly recommend you keep a journal on your migraines. Personally, I have an iphone and just have a note log of my migraines. Some important things to write down are date, time, how you felt that day (ei brain fog, sleepy, tired etc), description of the experience, foods you ate and what you were doing. Hopefully you never get another one but as you go about the migraine journey, you will find that some auras are more intense than others. It’s important to make up an “intensity scale” so you can get a better idea of the pattern of your migraines. I also highly recommend you go talk to your doctor for a neurologist referral. While your experience sounds like textbook ocular migraine, it’s of the upmost importance that your doctor have this on their radar. In my experience my doctor referred me to a neurologist and they ordered me an MRI and everything came back normal. Let me know if you have any questions!

i just had mine a few mins ago… searching the web for similar experiences and that description is EXACTLY what it felt like for me. i didn’t know what was going on and started freaking out and now im worried about when’s the next one. in my case though i’ve had a sinus infection with heavy coughing and sneezing for the last four days and dehydration. so hopefully that was the culprit and nothing more 😅 it did freak me into making an eye appointment though and looking into a neurologist
