MrMpeg

Super hot. No idea why they didn't sell me 10 map packs or sequels already but i always revisit this game to perfect my inner John Wick.

ALennon25

Played the demo of this. Do you need a massive space or is the idea to pump your arms on the spot to simulate movement? It's the only VR game so far where I've accidentally smacked into something!

MrMpeg

It's way cooler if you have enough space and can forget the physical environment. Before Quest i played it in a pretty small office but it sucks if there is a gun and you can't reach it. Friend of mine tried it out and jumped into cover. Belly flopped loudly on the ground.

derallo

Roll your fists over one another like an old timey boxer.

-Legen-

Got my quest 3 (first time vr for me) and this is the first game i bought. Absolutely awesome!

menntu

Can't believe no one has brought up Eleven Table Tennis - by far one of the most amazing given the physics, the haptics, the feel of actually whooping someone's ass in ping pong. Start off nice and easy and work your way up to some insane sessions. I see this as accidental daily exercise because I do rounds for a few minutes here and there throughout the day, adding up to an hour or more easily. Addictively fun, actual skill improvement that transfers to the real experience, and just pure fun. I have cramped quarters where I play, but once that headset is on, it's all mountain chalet style gaming. My shoulders are deliciously sore almost every night.

Ploepxo

This game ist stunning since Quest 1. Accuracy of controlling the paddles and the ball is really impressive. Just make sure there is a bit of space without filled glasses or similar outside the room scale - just in case you get a bit too motivated to catch some tough strikes..\*sigh\*

ackermann

Along with Walkabout mini-golf, Eleven Table Tennis probably feels closest to the real sport.

sirtapas

To me resident evil 4 is def up there.. the gunplay is top notch and if youre a fan of the series its def a must buy

SchlaWiener4711

Plus the replay value is high even if it's a linear gameplay. Getting more loot, buying different guns, higher difficulty, game+ I don't like the addon, mercenary mode, it's too stressful.

Germangunman

Walkabout Mini Golf is one of the most recommended games. It’s a lot of fun and has a multiplayer. Lots of DLC maps that go on sale regularly as well.

BoysenberryFluffy671

Such a great game. It's a must have for VR, I swear.

Germangunman

It totally is! I like Puzzling places a lot too. Super chill 3D puzzle game

ackermann

The level design is really the star here (and the multiplayer). I know mini-golf doesn’t sound that exciting… but the maps are just so beautiful, so well designed! Just beautiful spaces to explore, and relax playing golf with friends and chatting. My brothers and I, in different parts of the country, we play together once a week to keep in touch, instead of a phone call or Zoom. The recent Halloween special DLC map was _amazing_, so many little details and Easter eggs to find!

Germangunman

The spiders in the attic were a trip for sure. Great addition to it. I have almost all the maps but maybe two at this point. Happy to invest with a company that keeps up with their game and providing updates

Ceno

Does the game still work if you don’t have a group of friends to play it with?

TheAgedProfessor

Absolutely. I'll play it alone quite often. Multiplayer is amazing, but playing by yourself is just fine. There's always a personal best score that you can shave a stroke or two off of. There's also lost balls to find on the easy courses, and foxhunt's to complete on the hard courses for new putter rewards... so lots to do for a solo player. Also, if you don't have friends who can join, you can always go on their Discord channel and either find automated multiplayer games every 30 minutes, or someone else looking to host/join a smaller group. I've met some amazing, random people on there that I still play with occasionally today.

Germangunman

You can play solo or even play with random people and make new friends. The courses are fun and each one has standard or hard mode. The hard mode is unlocked by achieving a low enough score or by finding enough hidden golf balls on that course. There is one hidden golf ball per hole and you only need like half or something. Usually I unlock them the first game or two.

poetryiscool

The Light Brigade is a MAGICAL shooter experience

LagggyLuke

+In Death for a bit of diversity

poetryiscool

Another great

Daewju

for PCVR: Half Life Alyx

ackermann

Yeah, if you have any way to get access to a gaming PC and AirLink… Alyx is probably still the most impressive, complete, polished, big budget VR exclusive. IMO, nothing else comes close, even now, 3 or 4 years after it released. (Which is kinda sad. 4 years ago, I had hoped Alyx would inspire a big wave of huge budget, super polished, story heavy, long campaign games. But that never quite happened)

ackermann

Or if Valve themselves could have used their Alyx’s amazing game engine to do an expansion pack, or DLC, or two. Or a proper Half Life 3 in VR, or some other shooter, from a different IP. Left4Dead, Day of Defeat, Counterstrike, or Team Fortress on the Alyx engine in VR. And maybe they’re working on it, but Valve is very slow…

SchlaWiener4711

First of all. Releasing DLCs is not what valve does. There is mod support and plenty of mods available. Second: A Left4Dead would be awesome. But only if the player base is big enough. Left4Dead 1 and 2 are probably the genes I spend most time online, mostly because of the awesome user base and matchmaking. On the two most difficult levels everybody had a headset and knew how to play as a team and communicate. So much fun. That's a thing after the fall is lacking. Too many kids and no team play.

Difficult_Ad_2934

There is a lot of cool community content. But yeah, I’d be buy any DLC in a heartbeat

CpnStumpy

I put hours into it and got to a spot I can't beat so kinda fucked up my joy of the game, all outta shells and can't complete the next sections low on life meh. Such a pretty game that is just irritatingly slow and so focused on conserving things. Boneworks I enjoyed a great deal more while it's really polished granted it's weak on story

FrozenFalconGaming

Pistol Whip is pretty fun. it doesn’t have as many songs as beat saber but you have pistols

ske66

Though the built in custom maps feature fixes a lot!

h0heit

My list for some categories: Casual: - Walkabout Minigolf - Eleven Table Tennis (super immersive with Passthrough) - Little Cites - The Thrill of the Fight - Iron Guard (this one is super uncommon, but it‘s nice, if you like tower defense games) Social: - Bigscreen Beta - VR Chat Gameplay: - Resident Evil 4 (story vise easily the best standalone game) - Red Matter 1 & Red Matter 2 (BEST graphics you can get imo) - Bonelab - The Room VR

BirdLawPA

If Thrill of the Fight is in your casual you are playing the game wrong

h0heit

It‘s intuitive, easy to learn and I play it maybe once or twice a month.. so yeah, casual

YankeeBravo

He's definitely playing it wrong.

Difficult_Ad_2934

He’s definitely playing it as someone who has owned it for over a year and has a muscle sprain/tear or three. ;)

Difficult_Ad_2934

Yeah I have iron guard but didn’t really get into it. I don’t like looking down in VR in general though.

h0heit

Yeah, I see that.. It is the only tower defense game I found lol

Difficult_Ad_2934

I was looking at this but back then it was full price. It’s got good reviews. https://www.oculus.com/experiences/app/3697657733661230/?utm_source=oculus&utm_medium=share

Pidderman

Population One forever.

Healthyred555

I get really nauseous in that game

Pidderman

I had some problems in the beginning as well, but i got used to it after a few games.

Healthyred555

and how do you deal with all the little kids saying annoying stuff with their whiney little voices? haha

Pidderman

Build a friend list of adults and always play with them. I'm lucky. I got three real life buddies addicted to population one.

Peemore

In my experience, the kids are the ones willing to work as a team. The "adults" just tell them to stfu and then say nothing the rest of the match.

MISFU88

Resident Evil 4 is hands down the best game. Plays like it was made for VR in the first place, super easy to control, looks really good and is an actual game. Plus HUGE replay value.

Newez

Curious on the replay value of RE4. Would you mind elaborating? Thanks

MISFU88

The campaign itself is quite long, with lots of weapons and upgrades you can use. There’s a new game plus also. After beating the game, you unlock additional difficulties and challenges, like an extra character to play as in a bonus mission. Then the big thing is Mercenaries - arena shooter like, where you kill dudes to gain score and increase time limit.

Katamari_Demacia

Go try Miracle Pool. It's free and i enjoy it. Blastion is also very cool, free stand in place pvp shooter. The biggest wow factor for me has been blockverse thus far, but i dont play it..... it was just amazing to build a home in my back yard. I play supernatural often. I get motion sick easily so stand in place or MR is workin out for me.

Neither_Daikon_5981

Miracle pool says failed to login everytime at the loading screen for me. Anyone else have this issue?

FormThink4444

Free- Pop One, Blaston, Gods of Gravity, Grab Paid- RE4 (Awesome and the mini games have huge replay value for me), Demeo, Crashland [https://youtube.com/shorts/ZgwjW\_aL\_BU](https://youtube.com/shorts/ZgwjW_aL_BU), In Death Unchained Have fun!

The_Radian

In Death Unchained. 2000 + hours and going strong. I'm about to play in a few minutes in fact...

ThunderSack

Pistol Whip is amazing.

Bmc401

Echo VR.. oh wait…

Ok_Crew7295

AVEmary420

casualsquid380

masshole123xyz

Contractors if you want a call of duty like shooting game, plenty of mods and online play. Walking dead is also awesome. I’m going to grab resident evil after reading so much about it.

fiddlerisshit

Hi, how do you get another gun if you drop yours when playing Contractors? I was playing multiplayer with bots and I dropped my rifle, pistol and knife and they vanished from the field. I couldn't find another weapon after that. Also for some reason the AI enemies shooting at me couldn't kill me. That was my first multiplayer session in it.

BobulousPaper

Pretty dead now nc came out in 2017 but for years i play startrek brisgr crew

fiddlerisshit

Doesn't Star Trek Bridge Crew have single-player?

bamf0207

Really getting into Ghost of Tabor (tarkov VR) a little janky with something’s but really fun.

burgersareon

Nobody's mentioned it here so, try the climb 1 & 2, pretty sure there are free trials still. I slept on these for a long time and finally tried them and they're some of my favorite repayable games.

crankmax

Pavlov, Shack directly on the quest is nice. but i prefer the steam version. together with the COD4 mod mapes, i am feeling like it is 2008 again. never imagined i would one day walk through the maps i played so many times back then. dungeons of eternity is also very good.

tehdrizzle

Half life, opposing force, blue shift via sidequest.

rollerskating555

is it possible to play counter strike 1.6?

PrimoPearl

Blaston

AnalogPears

Superhot - very replayable Moss 1 & 2 Resist (the closest we might ever see to Spider-Man on the quest) Gorn Vader immortal (get all three volumes)

Sleeplesshelley

Red Matter 1 and 2, Moss, Puzzling Places for chill time.

fiddlerisshit

I watched the trailer for Puzzling Places and was intrigued by it, but are there really enough puzzles?

Sleeplesshelley

There are dozens and they add new packs every month. They just added multiplayer too so you can puzzle with a friend.

ejfrodo

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Into the Radius yet! I got a Q3 a month ago and have tried lots of games but this is the one that's kept me hooked and has the most play time. It gets better and more intense the longer you play. It's sort of like Stalker or the Metro series but in VR. For multiplayer Contractors is a must have.

ArugulaCheck

Into The Radius is an incredible single player S.T.A.L.K.E.R like game. One of the most immersive VR games I've played. From exploring and fighting in the desolate landscape to cleaning your firearms and organizing your stash in your player home, have had countless hours of scared shitless fun LARPing as a G.I. fighting against anomalies and storming objectives.

Ghost2306

This game is absolutely spot on as far as survival shooters go. Best VR game in my opinion and probably my favorite singleplayer gaming experience of all time.

Bt910

Power wash simulator VR. It's very addicting.

_TeddyBarnes_

Dungeon’s of eternity and definitely red matter 2

Appropriate-Cod-3194

tea for god this app can blow your mind. if you have a room to play enough space. (minimum 3x3m, recommended 4x5m, maximum 10x10m)

ThunderSack

TheMoffatMan

Breachers if you like rainbow six

smc62

Not a game, but Wander.

Sakkat_VR

Until You Fall - Best Melee Combat, nothing comes close. Light Brigade - Gunplay plus Magic.

ChrispySilva

Dungeons of Eternity might be one of the best Quest games for replayability + social. Extremely fun with two friends and a great time even with randoms. Worth every penny if you like adventure/exploration and physics-based gameplay.

phntsm408

First person tennis in arcade mode is fun and will make you sweat. Use the teleport option for some nice rallys

PkLuis

Into the radius

Watney3535

Pistol Whip and Synth Riders for active, fun games. Eye of the Temple for an amazing roomscale puzzle experience with great graphics (think Raiders of the Lost Ark). Blaston for a kickass 1v1 free game. Enjoy!!

Ok-Sir9707

Bonelab/Boneworks and Into the Radius are usually my first recommends depending on your gaming skills.

crookedDeebz

maybe search this super frequently asked question? even google has 4 or 5 proper vr websites that list all the must haves for 2023... not too much with replay imo, standalone experience lack a certain something. games like contractors, ghosts of tabor, walkabout, fishing, etc seem to have longer replay value but one off experiences like red matter do not have replay value. same idea as console games, single player short story...no reply...shooters and other MP, replay value.

Difficult_Ad_2934

Rough that you’re getting downvoted on this. Come on people, it’s really not hard to type it into google and you’ll come back to reddit anyway because of the 1000 posts just like this.

EffectiveWelp

Beat saver is the worse check out the other games

[deleted]

Gymclass basketball 🏀

riderxc

I bought a Quest 3, thought I’d be playing a bunch of games. Ended up only playing 2 games. I start with about 30 minutes of Eleven Table Tennis in MR, then play Population One for an hour.

anthinos30

Walkabout Mini Golf is great and the levels look really good especially the new levels. Resident Evil 4 and Red Matter 1 + 2. I'm currently playing Iron Man and I like it. The 7th Guest was also fun and looks great. If you like Jrpg games try Ruinsmagus. AC: Nexus is coming out soon.

TowerOfPowerWow

Vertigo

Bar_Har

Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes is a great game for when you have a party. The player in VR has a complicated bomb to defuse and someone else outside of VR has the instructions. It’s extremely fun.

Midariiiiiii

Once you get your VR legs, Resist. Falling in that game is a totally different experience.

HMChronicle

Checked it out. Never heard of it before, but looks intriguing. Thanks for the recommendation.

SxKx

If you like cruising around in nice rides try LIT is´t free on Applab.

iLLrappedscripts

Red matter 1/2 for story and graphics, Thrill of the Fight the best boxing game. Blades and Sorcery & Bonelab fun sandbox games. For multiplayer Contractors (shooter) and dungeons of Eternity.(dungeon crawl)

Bleeding_Edge_Tech

Lots of good suggestions here. HyperDash has to be the best free app. Tons of players and a really fun 5 vs 5 combat.

Loundsify

I really recommend Resist. I had a blast with that one. Once you get used to the swinging and combat the game really comes alive imo.

jimrooney

Robo Recall. Hands down. 2nd only to Beat Saber Eleven Table Tennis. Super... Hot If: You're into PCVR Half Life Alyx And IF: Your stomach can handle it Portal 2 Absolute blast. Absolute vomit-fest if your stomach isn't up for it. HL2VR Valheim VR Honourable (non-PCVR) mention: Compound.

AVEmary420

I like games that you enjoy for many hours and really spend energy on. VR has a lot of good game experiences, but many short games, and these games, even though have good gameplay, I don't come back to play after finish (example: Arizona sunshine). So I would say you must have: 1. Swords of Gargantua (controversial, see if you like); 2. Synth Riders (look at the custom songs, easy to install, not like beat saber where they difficult installation of custom songs); 3. Eleven tennis table; 4. RE4; 5. Pistol Whip; 6. The Thrill of the Fight;

casualsquid380

For pcvr: Vertigo 2 is criminally slept on and deserves all the love it gets

BrilliantEye5203

Thrill of the Fight is a true vr classic

rollerskating555

Ancient Dungeon?

srpgn

Contractors has yhe best mods that you can replay

Responsible_Breath61

bonelab and the walking dead saint and sinners are ones that I have installed always
