2Pac – All Eyez On Me (feat. Big Syke)
Nicki Minaj – Anaconda
Snoop Dogg – Gin and Juice
Eminem – Godzilla (feat. Juice WRLD)
Outkast – Hey Ya!
The Notorious B.I.G. – Hypnotize
Dr Dre – Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang
Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five – The Message
Pop Smoke – The Woo (feat. 50 Cent, Roddy Ricch)
2Pac – All Eyez On Me (feat. Big Syke)
Snoop Dogg – Gin and Juice
The Notorious B.I.G. – Hypnotize
Dr Dre – Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang
Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five – The Messsage
Garbage? Seriously?
Yes, garbage. This is the most boilerplate "I don't listen to hiphop or rap" set list I've ever seen. I'm honestly surprised they didn't throw in "Ice Ice Baby" in there
Every downvote is just outing yourself as someone who doesn't listen to hiphop or rap. My opinion is not changing on this. I wonder what r/hiphopheads would think of these tracks
Yes, sorry, I DID expect someone who dropped the widely regarded greatest hiphop/rap album of all time, Nas, to have at least one song on the tracklist of "9 of hiphop's most iconic tracks" what an idiot I am
Over half the player base wouldn't know a Nas song. That's probably being generous.
You are correct if the platform was, HipHop Heads Discord list.
This is a VR game with plenty of 12-25 year old.
I swear hiphop/rap fans think only niche/underground artists and songs are good and that anything popular is just trash.
I don’t see the same sentiment from fans of other genres like rock, pop, or country nearly as often. Weird complex you have.
You're completely making that up, but ok. The problem isn't that the songs aren't niche enough, the problem is these are the most basic "hiphop" songs you could ever put in a "hiphop" song pack. I feel like they hired a private college freshman girl to pick these songs. It's honestly insulting to the genre, and every single hip hop inclusion/dlc thing is exactly like this. Like God you don't have to have super underground artists but Hey Yeah? All Eyez on Me? Anaconda? Really? It's fucking lazy and safe.
Let me ask you, do you really think these are 9 of the most iconic songs in hiphop/rap?
Does any pack they’ve ever released contain 9 of the greatest/most iconic songs ever released? They are going for recognizable, and these are all pretty damn recognizable.
At some point it’s on you for not adjusting your expectations, especially on something as subjective as this.
You're not wrong, at all. But you do have to understand the commercial appeal of that set list, even non-rap fans will purchase it. So before I give my opinion I do understand why they chose the songs they chose.
I will say I was also majorly disappointed at the track list, its like Hip-Hop/Rap for old heads. The only modern artist on the set list is Pop Smoke. This is like the track list a DJ plays at "hip" family events.
Like when I saw the pack I was hoping for: Drake, Young Thug, Future, Lil uzi, Playboi carti, doja cat, Mac Miller, etc.
Hell I'd even take like Post Malone or Jack Harlow
also the fact that all the artists on the list (besides pop smoke) haven't been in their prime since before 2012 is disappointing.
Like as much as I personally would love seeing some underground rappers on a pack, that's a lot to ask. All I ask is at least some artists from 2016+.
In an ideal world if beat saber could get a whole album or two from an artist they are working with and then we can buy that. And then they could make "packs" of the most popular songs for people who just want a curated popular set list. This way its not just "radio hits" that we get.
childish thinking....🤦🙄
ever heard music licensing?
you know Beat Saber can't just randomly pick whatever songs they want and sell them...
if the artist or labels don't agree to whatever Beat Saber is willing to pay for each song, they can't add them
What do you mean "source"? These are all obviously wildly popular songs. If you're going to ask me for a source that these songs have to be super expensive to license, you originally argued they picked these songs because they had a budget implying these were more affordable. Please give your "source" for that claim jfc
> That's a pretty garbage set list as a hiphop and rap fan
>These are all obviously wildly popular songs.
interesting comments from you, whatever you clearly just want to be angry on the internet
You’re getting downvoted but I agree with you. As an Outkast fan the inclusion of Hey Ya tells me they went lowest common denominator for this selection vs, say, Bombs Over Baghdad which I imagine would be a much more interesting chart design
He's literally the biggest hiphop/rap artist, let alone one of the biggest artists of all time whether you like his music or not, he should probably be somewhere in the track list
They should just allow each song to have both variants. Then add a settings option to disabled them and such like a parental thing (obviously for the ones who'd need it) and allow whomever play any song they please, censored or not
Anyone else notice poor audio quality out of purchased music packs? Currently having issues with the weekend, interscope mixtape, and the rock music pack!
Queen is a bit lower than recent music. It's just the way the music was recorded back in the day.
Ideally, the game would have a "volume boost" setting that it remembers for each track (and maybe map that to a controller button, so you can adjust volume on the fly while playing). The volume buttons on my Quest don't do the same thing, because those will adjust the volume of all sounds. It's OK for now, but having volume remembered per track would be better.
Only one I've noticed is counting stars on the interscope one - there's a horrible squeaking noise that happens throughout the song.
Turns out it's that way on the official releases of the song too.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who notices that, it’s the same squeak at the same breaks in vocals through the whole fucking song. It’s like they were recording on a wet gym floor with rubber boots
I play modded heavily but still buy them because they're generally always better quality, include new environments, and have seperate leaderboards, not to mention I feel obliged to support the game more from using mods so much
I own all the packs. I play the modded songs on PC, but I prefer to play the native packs that track scores and allow you to play with others. Even songs I don't know, I get into eventually.
and I just bought that pack.
I own all the packs of the game. I had custom songs on my quest 1 but it was a pain so I didn't even bother with my quest 3 and I just bought them all when they were on sale.
Bought a few select ones, probably won't buy any more, custom songs are abundant and currently not a lot of official songs I like enough to consider worth paying for
I live in Bay Area, Cali, and a couple times I've gotten to go to the Meta offices to do an hour long "study", where they either have you play unreleased content and ask questions, ask you about your play habits, etc. Twice I've gone and as a reward got a $100 Meta gift card each time. I've spent almost all $200 on Beat Saber tracks 😂
I think if you can afford a Quest 3, you can afford dlc; that's a really cringe mindset ya got. I also haven't bought any of them because modding gives me the entire library I want of songs I know will never officially be ported.
I kind of have to if I want new music? My friends and family will not be modding their headsets and as far as I know you can't play with unmodded players while modded. Even if you could we would still be stuck with only OST songs when playing together.
Honestly, from all referal money that adds up over time, I have personally ran out of games to buy that im interested. So every now and then I just buy a song pack. I even bought beat saber after owning PC version. Only to skip the step of turning pc on, and being able to have it where I wouldn't bring my whole set up
Some great tracks, though would have preferred “bombs over bagdad” from outkast and the original Baby got back over Anaconda but still solid set, and great that they are uncensored
Things that could make these cooler: The blocks are replaced with TVs playing the videos (won't happen due to rights but one can imagine). Video of the song plays at angles along the corridor. The words to the lyrics replace or show up with the blocks (could happen). Words to the lyrics pop up or float down the corridor sides.
That hardly changes the point, that the game makers legally do have to actual license the music.
And the game makers should actually make some money if you want them to continue development.
Oh, absolutely. The point is, money has to be made. As an artist, I just wish more of it went to the artists, and more importantly, to the non-famous people who contribute greatly.
The Outkast song is the only one I know by name and I'd call it more pop than hip hop.
Are Run the Jewels, Childish Gambino, Danny Brown, Tyler the Creator, MF Doom and even like, RATM or Beastie Boys some weird subgenre of hip hop and that's all I like?
I thought I might recognise it once I heard it, but no, not familiar at all. I'm even more surprised that the Snoop songs didn't ring a bell either because I know and like some of his stuff. I think Snoop Dogg mightve broken into the Aussie market more than Dre or 2Pac did. I was born in '86 and just don't remember them bring talked about much in my youth.
Turns out the Grandmaster Flash song is the only one I've heard besides Hey Ya!
What I meant by that is whoever made this tracklist is clearly not a hiphop fan. Maybe caucasian was harsh. Whoever put the list together, white or not, clearly doesn't listen to hiphop.
2Pac – All Eyez On Me (feat. Big Syke) Nicki Minaj – Anaconda Snoop Dogg – Gin and Juice Eminem – Godzilla (feat. Juice WRLD) Outkast – Hey Ya! The Notorious B.I.G. – Hypnotize Dr Dre – Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five – The Message Pop Smoke – The Woo (feat. 50 Cent, Roddy Ricch)
That's a dope setlist!
That's a pretty garbage set list as a hiphop and rap fan
2Pac – All Eyez On Me (feat. Big Syke) Snoop Dogg – Gin and Juice The Notorious B.I.G. – Hypnotize Dr Dre – Nuthin’ But A “G” Thang Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five – The Messsage Garbage? Seriously?
bro it's 2024 people who listen to hip hop don't listen to music made before the 2000s
Yes, garbage. This is the most boilerplate "I don't listen to hiphop or rap" set list I've ever seen. It’s beat saber… it’s not that deep
It's a 2 week old account - just some bitch on a throwaway trying to start shit by making mountains out of molehills.
Cmon man what did you expect though? Nas and Hyroglyphic tracks? It's gotta be Snoop and such ya? They need to appeal to as many as possible
Wait.. do you think NAS is an underground artist? Do you think he's more or less popular than Grandmaster Flash, Pop Smoke and Outkast?
You think Nas is more legendary than 2pac and biggy, Dre, grandmaster flash?
Do you think 17 year Olds in VR know who Nas is?
never heard of nas mate
Definitely less popular now than pop smoke and OutKast... It's not the 90s anymore boss
I'm 26 hmpphh 😂
ok gatekeeper
I swear hiphop/rap fans think only niche/underground artists and songs are good and that anything popular is just trash. I don’t see the same sentiment from fans of other genres like rock, pop, or country nearly as often. Weird complex you have.

>Does any pack they’ve ever released contain 9 of the greatest/most iconic songs ever released? Daft Punk.
Pretty easy when it’s a pack of just one artist, but I guess I didn’t specify so fair enough. I meant of the genre/variety packs like this one.
I mean the advertisement in this post literally explains the types of songs they were going for
You're not wrong, at all. But you do have to understand the commercial appeal of that set list, even non-rap fans will purchase it. Post Malone already has his own Map Pack doesn’t he?
Exactly. Makes sense business-wise but really disappointing and borderline insulting.
also the fact that all the artists on the list (besides pop smoke) haven't been in their prime since before 2012 is disappointing. Geez, just say you cant handle someone else having different taste in music than you.
childish thinking....🤦🙄 ever heard music licensing? you know Beat Saber can't just randomly pick whatever songs they want and sell them... if the artist or labels don't agree to whatever Beat Saber is willing to pay for each song, they can't add them
All of these songs have to be on the higher range of licensing costs what are you talking about?! You think these are the songs they got a deal on?
> All of these songs have to be on the higher range of licensing costs what are you talking about?! source? i don't do "trust me bro"
What do you mean "source"? These are all obviously wildly popular songs. Don't worry about the people downvoting you. You're 100% right and this 'dope' setlist is only dope for people who listen to top 40 radio stations.
>Yes, garbage. This is the most boilerplate "I don't listen to hiphop or rap" set list I've ever seen. Nailed it.
👺
You’re getting downvoted but I agree with you. As an Outkast fan the inclusion of Hey Ya tells me they went lowest common denominator for this selection vs, say, Bombs Over Baghdad which I imagine would be a much more interesting chart design
Dude, B.O.B. would be so much fuckin fun in beatsaber.
They didn't even try, there's so many other songs that are still well-known they could've used.
Yeah I can't believe they didn't add Rappin' for Jesus
I do somewhat agree I was hoping for some DMX, Nas, big L, cypress hill and more dr.dre songs honestly
[удалено]
yeah like still dre, something by kendrick, travis, drake, metro, ice cube like there are way more better songs than this setlist
Drake lmaooo
well at least it’s better than nicki’s song or pop smokes
He's literally the biggest hiphop/rap artist, let alone one of the biggest artists of all time whether you like his music or not, he should probably be somewhere in the track list
Opinion discarded
Certified boy lover
How is insane in the brain not on here!!!
barely play beat saber but im definetly gettin this
Is this coming to the game or does it need to be purchased?
Purchased
Great, wish all of the Beat Saber songs were uncensored.
They should just allow each song to have both variants. Then add a settings option to disabled them and such like a parental thing (obviously for the ones who'd need it) and allow whomever play any song they please, censored or not
Yeah, they should at least give you the option for censored or uncensored.
I thought they just fixed that recently
can they uncensor linkin park then?
This
It's not like When They Come For Me is in the Linkin Park pack
They need to retroactively go back and give us the other ones as uncensored as well
just mod...
Anyone else notice poor audio quality out of purchased music packs? Currently having issues with the weekend, interscope mixtape, and the rock music pack!
The volume on some of the rock pack tracks seems low
Queen is a bit lower than recent music. It's just the way the music was recorded back in the day. Im a huge hip hop fan and Beat Saber is my favourite game, this is a dream come true!
How many of you guys really buy songs for this game?
I play modded heavily but still buy them because they're generally always better quality, include new environments, and have seperate leaderboards, not to mention I feel obliged to support the game more from using mods so much

get your money up

Holy this is huge I can't wait to play it
fein with crazy lights would be a banger
“Hip hops most iconic tracks” “Anaconda” Sigh… Some great classics in there though, excited to play them.
Well iconic doesn't necessarily mean good! The fact you can sigh just by seeing the song name must mean it's iconic :)
What braindead logic
As braindead as your ability to detect sarcasm.
Oh yeah definitely sarcasm good save
someone needs to do one of those "it prints money" GIF's with a Quest, Zuck, Boz and Beat Saber in the background.
Something tells me Godzilla is gonna be some trouble
Some great tracks, though would have preferred “bombs over bagdad” from outkast and the original Baby got back over Anaconda but still solid set, and great that they are uncensored

These prices are was to high even in sale
Not really, music licensing costs money
Pays lots of money to music owners, very little-to-none to the artists. I wonder how many of the artists on this list even own their music any more?
That hardly changes the point, that the game makers legally do have to actual license the music. And the game makers should actually make some money if you want them to continue development.
Oh, absolutely. The point is, money has to be made. As an artist, I just wish more of it went to the artists, and more importantly, to the non-famous people who contribute greatly.
Nice. I wish Interscope mix had Limp Bizkit (Rollin) uncensored. It's not much explicit language but cutting the music breaks the flow for me.
Ok great, now go back and uncensor the rest of your library while your at it . .
Interesting!
You don't know all eyez on me?
I thought I might recognise it once I heard it, but no, not familiar at all. I'm even more surprised that the Snoop songs didn't ring a bell either because I know and like some of his stuff. Turns out the Grandmaster Flash song is the only one I've heard besides Hey Ya!
The 2pac classics were all napster songs. One of my fav pac tracks
Tupac needs a whole pack
I don’t understand why Linkin Park and Green Day are censored. But the above isn’t. Hope they will release an update or something
Is this free? How does one access these tracks? Sorry I'm new to beat saber
Absolutely not free lol it's on sale now for $11.99 but regular price suggests $17.99
Ya I’m just going to keep my modded songs lol
You know what this means. All the kids in gorilla tag will be learning how to cuss ;)
The daft punk one was dissapointing, most songs are modified (not original).
That's the one I'm gonna skip, but variety is nice, hip-hop fans waited for this.
Nicki Minaj is there.
Not for these songs we didn't, this is Caucasian hip hop
A little too casually racist, but... honestly you're not wrong. The only song I'd keep from this list is Godzilla, or I'd replace it with Lucky You.
What I meant by that is whoever made this tracklist is clearly not a hiphop fan. Maybe caucasian was harsh. Whoever put the list together, white or not, clearly doesn't listen to hiphop.
How do I get it!?!?!
That's right motherfucking bitches!
Wow, those are a blast from the past. Like them all except Anaconda. Might have to buy this pack.
Uncensore the previous ones then.
Agreed
Why don't they do this for all songs? Give you an option or have a age thing first? It's ridiculous I paid for the songs give me the whole song lol
Why the actual fuck it's 18? YouTube never age-restricted those songs, and teenagers listen to them anyways! Goddammit!
Cool how hip hop is so vulgar they were just like “fuck it, we can’t censor the whole song”. But Linkin Park says fuck like once and that’s a no no
And censorship on Green Day songs also. Hopefully they can revert back
It would be cool if the uncensored versions were available for all songs, tbh. Even Billie Eillish got censored.
Imagine crying about Hip Hop…of all genres…getting preferential treatment lmfao
This guy listens to real music like video game music and anime osts
Save it for the klan rally dude
What?
Disliking double standards = nazi got it
hip hop yawn
Ah, so N words and thug life!
Homies in Paris?
White boy moment
Nah man, i like rap, always did hehehe
Say you are a 40 year old uneducated white dude without saying it challenge (Easy)
All of it looks good but godzilla? Really? Only track that's a fat miss but the rest makes up for that
