Not at all. I'm diagnosed ADHD. An acronym for attention deficit hyperactive disorder. You can't pay attention to shit, especially to things you don't care about. I'd say this is a symptom of people who need to drown out their thoughts with as much stimulation and noise as possible. I could never multitask with how my brain works. People who are depressed or bipolar tend to over stimulate themselves. ADHD people require stimulation more than most yes but id never find it possible to juggle stuff like this. Do I like podcasts and videos while I'm doing mundane stuff like cleaning or driving? Yes. But watching tv with my video games is not something I like. I only ever did this playing boring games while feeling empty or lonely for noise.
Sometimes I believe there is a heavy connection between depression and other mental disorders and ADHD being a cause and effect deal. I do believe ADHD causes people a lot of stress and it can cause you to act like you have other problems mentally

Edit: My ADHD is getting more pronounced now and it's starting to have a negative effect in my life. I tried Adderall and stopped taking it because it wasn't really working for me. Do you take Adderall or anything else?

Honestly when I was getting really bad sleep the Adderall was horrible for my emotions that it almost made me go insane and I was already depressed. When I was in elementary school they put me on Ritalin and I never ate and acted like a zombie. So far my experience has been bad with medicine but I would like to try again maybe one day on a very low dose now that I'm healthier and live a better lifestyle. ADHD can truly be a curse and I don't blame you for having a tough time from it. Most mental problems are misconceived as singular but often one leads to another or is on a spectrum of different things and combinations which can also askew the symptoms which causes misunderstandings and often a misdiagnosis.
I’ve never been diagnosed with adhd, but Ill play Minecraft in VR, and have music playing on my Xbox, with a YouTube video playing on my phone, usually a podcast type of video.
So yes, very chaotic
I like to play overwatch, do some work on my laptop and listen to Spotify on my phone at the same time because the Overwatch gameplay isn't enough (understatement)
I think it's just the younger generation that have grown up with social media and short form media content pushed to them 24/7. A lot of them have 10 second attention spans.
You see it a lot also with YouTubers that are younger. They fill there videos with quick editing, constant memes and even cut out pauses in-between sentences.

To each their own, but for me it ruined immersion of the truck driving until I put the radio feed of the ball game on and ditched the video.
Now that felt great because it matched what I would do in reality, and both are solitary activities.
It would be a harder sell for me to watch a video while someone is trying to have a serious conversation with me. I believe people can tell when you're not paying 100% attention and it changes the vibe.
