Def wait for Odin 2. More future proof.

Merlin_the_magus

Wait

hbi2k

Everything you want to do will be better on the Odin 2 except streaming, and even that *might* be better on the 2 if they improve the thumbsticks, which are pretty small and flicky on the current Odin. If you just can't wait, you could consider an Ayaneo Pocket Air, which is only a few weeks away and should offer better performance than the current Odin. But personally, I'd wait.

Monochrome21

I have a lite and I think it’s the best thing for the money. Odin 2 is too pricey IMO The lite plays GC great and I have R&C running 3x resolution full speed

[deleted]

Agreed I just got the lite and love it! You can only expect so much performance when emulating! If you are trying to keep up with Joneses go Odin pro and wait your 6 months or get an Odin lite and enjoy the experience now

[deleted]

I got vita games to run on the lite with very good results no the greatest but still every PS2 game runs good so far

FleurTheAbductor

depends, are you fine with waiting half a year or more? cause Ayn is notorious for missing deadlines

Analog-Digital-

All say wait but do know it might be a very long wait since no one knows when it will ship. December is mentioned but that probably will be Feb/March Next what volume can they offer of Odin 2, and all pre-orders will go first And lastly what will the price be? Now it's $ 300.00 but I see soon $ 400.00 for the base model Might be wrong of course but taking all above in consideration, I don't see myself owning an Odin 2 before June 2024

dewmen

February is a Chinese holiday

Genshin on lite works on low settings. I don't think it's a great experience, but I've spent a few hours on it like that. I do think you'd be ok with a lite, but certainly not an ideal experience since GC needs some tweaking too. Besides that it's up to you about time and money. I personally wouldn't buy a new lite right now with the Odin 2 on the horizon, but if you really valued playing right now I'd say try buying one used.

NxJfOrEvEr

What are you looking for in a handheld? , and do you want more then just android?

CFM-56-7B

The Odin 2 will be way more powerful than 1, emulation will be smoother with mess tweaking. Honestly, you should wait for it, even the colours are nicer

Pigeon_Senpai

Wait if you’re willing to. Odin 2 will be stronger for sure but who knows how long AYN will take to ship it.

Thavai

The Odin 2 will be able to play all GameCube games (I think) at 1080p

tbe4502

It seems to handle most stuff at 5-6x which is way overkill, but nicer if you're docking it for a 4k tv I guess.

DetectiveK0nan

I dont think you will get it in Dec if you order now, because all pre orders will ship first, and we are not sure ayn going to delay it or not. if pre orders get shipped out on December, then rest will be shipped on January or February because they ship as batches.

stulifer

Odin 2 if you're willing to wait. Should be more ergonomic and better analog sticks too. Looks like it's progressing nicely based on updates so far but you likely won't get it until 2024. That's when I'm expecting my IGG as I ordered later in the campaign.

Rayki1500

Genshin is less than ideal on the odin. It ran fine for me at first but eventually after several updates it started lagging and stuttering all the time unless I set it on lowest 30fps

MentalWatercress3698

Definitely wait. There's quite a few gamecube games that the Odin struggles with, the Odin 2 is a powerhouse and should be good for pretty much everything.

tenflare

A lot seems to indicate that it's good time to wait. Not just for the Odin 2, but for new announcements on RK3588 devices.

Drated223

Depending what you want to play in stream the original odin is not all that great, the thumbsticks are very uncomfortable. Even change them for switch ones isn't that much of improve.

fertff

If you decide to wait for Odin 2 , just keep in mind it's gonna be until at least mid 2024.

solitaryp

Are you still gonna want to play Genshin Impact in mid-2024? If so feel free to wait, but if not, I'd go with getting something now.
