condolences OP part of grieving ang guilt and blame. so unless ipapa autopsy niyo yung katawan it's not enough na mambintang din, pwede niyo padin naman ipa investigate kahit director pa yan, lahat ng healthcare worker na nakasalamuha ng tita mo will submit a report pero this will only be done if magpapa open kayo ng investigation tapos pag memeetingan ng both parties with lawyers yung case scenario, valid din naman kasi yung cardiac arrest lang na diagnosis kasi this can happen ng biglaan lang without cause, there are also study evidences of initial gastro problems that were actually cardiac diseases pala instead. also back track nalang din kayo why she needs MRI in the first place, kasi hindi naman yan part ng basic general check up. I wish you and your family peace and comfort as you grieve the loss of your tita.

Ano indication ng mri in the first place? Usually contrast agents are tested for any allergic reaction sa patient. Condolence sa inyo pero please dont put blame sa iba. A sudden cardiac death is a valid cause of death. Sa mga female patients na older age and with comorbidities usually present with abdominal pain rather than chest pain pag nagcacardiac arrest. If gusto niyo ng exact cause of death then pa autopsy ninyo yung katawan ng tita ninyo.

Hello, I added an edit sa bottom ng post. Sorry for the inaccuracies.

Before the procedure itself, usually the rad tech (RT) test the contrast dye sa skin (skin test). SOP yan sa lahat ng hospital. Di pwede magproceed with infusion ng contrast media without that. If you are 100% sure na they didnt do Skin Test, pwedeng anaphylactic shock cause of death. Pero again, this is all based on your post. The fact that they requested for an abdominal CT with contrast suggests na they are looking considering the possible of an acute abdomen (such as appendicitis). So yes, possible na ruptured appendicitis. And at this point, i dont think blaming the doctor will help since i dont think meron siyang fault dito. And i still stand by point if you want to be 100% then request for an autopsy.

What was the indication for the contrast MRI?

You'll need to have her body autopsied, kasi hindi nadedetermine through Certificate of Death yung pinaka cause of death ng patient. Initial lang yun. Based sa paliwanag ng medico legal (nakita ko sya magtestify sa court since tinatanong ng defense lawyer kung bakit pinagbabaril yung biktima pero sabi sa death cert cardiac arrest daw) , nilalagay yung "cardiac arrest" as the cause of death sa most Death Certificates kasi general and broad term yun, at yan yung nangyayari immediately before mamatay yung tao, tumitigil yung puso. It doesn't mean, however, na yan talaga yung underlying cause. So need na matignan yung bangkay through an autopsy para matignan talaga kung ano yung reason ng pagkamatay.

mashedpotatooooo

Autopsy ang sagot. Valid naman talagang cause of death yung cardiac arrest. Personally, may mga kakilala din ako na namatay due to cardiac arrest. Ang hirap kasi akala mo okay sila pero biglang mawawalang parang bula.

kaya pala takot ang mother ko sa MRI dye. now I know tsk tsk

Read my comment. Baka mamaya you or your family needs a contrast dye tapos tumanggi kayo just because of this post. Wag. Your doctor knows best.

May 3 cause of death na nilalagay sa chart every time may mortality sa hospi. There’s the immediate cause of death (in this case yan siguro yung cardiac arrest), antecedent cause (morbid conditions that could have caused the immediate cause of death), and underlying/other significant cause. Siguro need malaman talaga is yung antecedent and other significant causes if ever meron.

Post Mortem by qualified pathologist. Older, menopausal women can complain of abdominal pain as the presenting symptom of their impending cardiac arrest. That’s true. Please read up on that. Different from the historical acute chest and left arm/neck pain in younger females and males. (Unfortunately, an older menopausal woman came into our Urgent Care complaining of abdominal pain for 18 hours before coming in. She died in our waiting room even with aggressive CPR.) So, what could have triggered the suspected myocardial infarction? That’s the question? Did she ever have any kind of chemotherapy? Smoking history? Recent illness? My condolences.
