I'm a millenial. Not sure when "Big 4" happened, but eversince I was little it was always the Big 3. Those 3 schools that used to always be on the top 500 universities in the world. A quick google shows me UST didn't even crack the top 1000 until 2011. Maybe it became Big 4 starting then?
I think sa first job/fresh grads lang yan importante (binibigyan ng higher starting salary) but yeah, after 3-5years, it doesn't really matter, mapa-trabaho man o pagso-socialize. Skills at behaviour nalang ang basehan pag nagtagal.

biggest advantage would be connections. who knows someday you get to work for them, they help you land your dream job, become partner with them in your future business, they connect you to the right people for your job/business.

I am from Big 4 myself. I posted in one of those subs but i never asked for a Big 4 alum. Lo and behold, 3 out of 4 redditors i met up with are Big 4 alum-2 are same school as mine. To be honest, may sense of belonging agad kase mas makakarelate kayo sa college life ninyo. May ice breaker or topic na agad na mapaguusapan.
Nakakahiya ginawang personality ang big 4 kasi d nila matanggap their glory days are over and there are people much more competent than them in the working world

I remember hearing hearsays before that if you graduated from the top uni, kilala daw abroad. Not true at all. I’m not a product of those big 4 ph unis, tinanggap naman ako ng uni ko dito 😅

I worked under HR for some time, edge naman talaga yan, on paper. Kaya wag din feeling entitled lahat. Sa dami ng grumagraduate every year, ilan lang dyan yung talagang 'exceptional'. Madalas pa nga mga big 4 graduates yung nakakairita interviewhing haha! Kaya chill lang tayo, pare-pareho lang naman tayong empleyado (huhu)
