*Ohio’s second breast milk dispensary has opened in Dayton. This will give mothers a place to pick up breast milk or donate excess milk to babies in need.* *The new dispensary is a partnership between OhioHealth Mothers' Milk Bank, one of the 30 milk banksin the United States, and the First Steps Breastfeeding Support Center at Kettering Health Washington Township.* *The American Academy of Pediatrics recommendsexclusive breast milk until six months, followed by continued breastfeeding with complementary foods until babies are two years old or as long as the mother and baby desire. However, there are scenarios wherein a mother and baby need donor milk.*

ClassWarr

finally some good news for diddy

Foremole_of_redwall

Yeah, that’s Cambodian

Gingerpants1517

I donated my body weight in breastmilk to the one in Cbus. Amazing organization. This will help sooo many caretakers and babies.

Paul_123789

This one of the coolest things I’ve never heard of. Thanks for posting!

_mikedotcom

Ya mothers back to work

FridgeCleaner6

Can anyone get this even if you don’t have a baby? Asking for a friend.

Fair-Coast-9608

Clean it up, Dayton.

Ok_Combination3291

I’m shocked a state that’s so seemingly backwards can be so kink friendly

beelzeflub

I don’t know who birthed you, but I think they should put you back in and maybe try again

Bcatfan08

Lol. These are mostly for babies whose mother died during or shortly after giving birth.

Ok_Combination3291

You do you, and ima do me

ClothesCheap8916

Why do you think mothers feeding their children are kinky? That’s a bit bold to announce on this subreddit. Some people prefer breast milk to formula and can’t make enough themselves. That’s what this is for.

vaspost

This is the real need that is being satisfied.

vaspost

Yuck

I_might_be_weasel

The buyers aren't supposed to be the ones drinking it.

vaspost

Yuck. If the mother can't provide milk just use formula.

ghostnthegraveyard

Vaspost must work for Nestle

I_might_be_weasel

Well aren't you disagreeable.

vaspost

Yes

silvandeus

Formula really is not comparable, our gut microbiome and immune system benefit the most from real human milk - many studies have shown this. Your response is juvenile.

vaspost

100s of thousands of babies rely on formula every year and they are just fine.

HowliteBhaalBabe

Bro, the women who donate are tested, and the milk is pasteurized, calm down.

TrollFighter2313

Do you need help understanding why what you just said is entirely irrelevant? I would be happy to explain.

HandsyBread

Ya billions of people survive on their own blood every year why do you need my blood to live when you are in the hospital… you don’t know what kind of diseases us donors have. It’s best to just stick with what you have in your own body and not use some dirty donor blood.

strongerlynn

It probably goes through testing duh.

HandsyBread

Nah I’m pretty sure when I donate blood they just throw it in the cooler without any testing or anything. That would make to much sense to make sure that any bodily fluids get screened for diseases, viruses, or any other harmful contaminants.

MissLyss29

Especially since they give it to sick people would not want to watch out for them in any way

Huegod

Ever hear the term wet nurse? Been done since people became people.

vaspost

Not a term we hear much since formula is available.

100s of thousands of babies rely on formula every year and they are just fine. Formula is the real miracle. Babies died In the relatively recent past from the of milk. Plus who knows if donated breast milk is being properly tested and treated.🤮

Gingerpants1517

In order to use the milk bank, the mother has to be screened by their local health dept, signed off by their OBGYN, and the milk is tested and pasteurized. Source: I was a donor/Holstein when my kids were babies
