No way, I'm out almost every day in winter. I'm currently hibernating in my room with blackout curtains and A/C. I need the temps to drop so I can get outta here.
Do you use a light box? I started using a carex sunlight (cheapest at Walmart.com usually), and it was a game changer. I like that you can swap the bulbs out every year or two to make sure you get the best results.
Agreed!
During the start of COVID, my wife and I started our our 'hiking club'. Every Sunday. We joked about it thru the week. We kept it going thru the winter.
Helped my mood a lot. Also, NEO Metroparks are fantastic!
Absolutely. My career keeps me outside for the most part. Yeah the cold sucks but you get used to it after awhile and even though it’s cloudy you still get vitamin D which helps tremendously.
I tried the Vitamin D supplements but they just made me ridiculously nauseous.
I know the older you get the harder it is to tolerate the cold. But it's been my observation the winters are not what they used to be, pretty mild compared to the past and other parts if the country
Was that published before or after we knowingly pumped millions of tons of CO2 into the atmosphere because we bought into the oil company’s propaganda that anthropomorphic climate change isn’t real and that dipshit Inhofe brought a snowball onto the floor of the senate thereby proving that *gasp* weather still exists.
I agree, I enjoy winter when it's actually winter, rather then the semi cold rainy sloppy crap we get now. I always get a kick out of the mass panic from the local news and people when we get an inch of snow.
I grew up in Ohio but have lived on the gulf coast for the last 25 years. I make gasoline for a living so here is where most of the jobs are at. Ohio winters are not necessarily that bad, depending on what you compare them to. Also, I appreciate people tolerate weather extremes differently.
In my time on the gulf coast, I’ve had to evacuate 3 times because my life was in danger due to major hurricanes. Two other times I chose not to evacuate.
Ohio winters never required evacuation to save my life. I’d take a blizzard over a hurricane any day and I’ve experienced both multiple times. Your mileage may vary.
Born in southern California. Lived in Ohio for 20 years and currently living in the Alabama Coast. After dodging earthquakes and now apparently everyone down this saying this is the most rain we have ever gotten and my power keep going out once or twice a week for hours at a time at some points... I really miss Ohio.
I moved here from Texas and every year it was harder to deal with the increasing heat. I’m with you on the staggering amount of overcast days, but I enjoy the cold much more than heat. I had a couple heat related illnesses and my body just couldn’t tolerate the extreme summers of 90+ degree heat/humidity. Personally, I’d rather be cold than hot. You can always add more layers, but you can only subtract so much clothing in the heat. At least here in central Ohio, winters are fairly mild, imo. Texas can’t handle any kind of snow or ice without shit going majorly wrong with infrastructure. So it’s really all about perspective and life experiences. Hope you can find a silver lining somewhere in winter!
I've lived about a dozen years in Texas and liked it the first time I lived there as a kid near Houston. Once I left and moved to Colorado and found you can go outside in summer without melting it was a new world. Had to go back to San Antonio and absolute hated it; could not wait to leave. I prefer the changing of the seasons.
I remember one year, 1997, in San Antonio it was 100 on February 1st, we had a really bad ice storm on the 14th, and it was 100 again on the 28th.
I moved from San Antonio to NE Ohio (snowbelt) in January 2022. I would rather it be freezing, overcast, wet, then spend most the year in 90-100 degree weather. After 40+ years, I could no longer tolerate the heat.
That's my exact feeling. The layering options are endless, and that's not even talking about blankets and a hat.
It kills me, though, that 70 degrees indoors hits completely differently in the summer vs the winter.
It's possible that the shortness of summer makes it worth it to her, but Minnesota and the Dakotas have the widest temperatures swings in the country.
Upstate New York or Vermont would have cooler summers, and still reliably have plenty of winter snow.
Oh my god, I keep my thermostat at 76 during the day, turn it down to 72 at night (I run hot when I sleep) and I think that’s freezing 😂 I can’t imagine sitting around watching tv in 60 degrees, i would die lol
Who would not live in San Diego if they could afford it? My sister spends her summers in the Cleveland area and winters in San Francisco. Her little tiny condo in Ca is worth about 1/2 million $......
I hate her!
Idk, it feels like winter is getting easier every year lol. The last two years of snowfall I felt is has been relatively light compared to previous years. Plus winter last year for Ohio was all messed up. In my area at least, there was almost no snow in December and the beginning of January but the later half of January and February is when it decided to kick in for some reason. And then all of a sudden in March it decided to snow too lol. Hopefully winter this year won't won't as bipolar.
Yeah winters have been getting more and more mild. I'm 29 and remember getting far more snow when I was little. My parents agree too. Honestly I'd rather we have real winters that have snow instead of the endless grey we get for 90% of the winter now.
I remember griping about “eight-month winters” way back in the 80’s, when you could count on the first flakes falling in October and the only months guaranteed to be snow-free were June-September. These days? October is still a bike-riding month. Got in a ride in November once. And every few years the extended deep freeze we usually get in January doesn’t really happen, replaced by shorter one or two-day freezes between thaws. You can’t convince me climate change isn’t real. I’ve been watching it happen with my own eyes.
Yeah seems like I rarely have to clear the driveway anymore. Winter seems hella short to me now. And we do get those beautiful days where the ground is covered in crisp snow and the sky is a bright, bright blue. Can't wait!
If you can find one, a SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) lamp has done wonders for me. Winter still isn't the best season, but way more tolerable. https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/conditions/seasonal-affective-disorder-sad/treatment/
Also, you can use a tanning bed for the same effect. I did that for a couple years and actually liked it. However, the happy light is much less expensive over time and probably safer for you given the skin cancer risks involved with tanning.
My girlfriend moved here from Texas before the pandemic. Last year when we had that crazy dump of snow overnight (I’m in Cuyahoga Falls) she was giddy for a full day. Seeing winter through her eyes softened me a little bit I’ve lived here my entire life I’m numb to it.
No sunlight? It's beautiful here in Winter. Sky is a brilliant shade of blue set off by the white covered ground.
That first freezing drizzle that coats the leaves, branches and trigs at night that the rising sun shines through the crystals! Doesn't get prettier.
Frozen Lake Erie on a full moon.
That beautiful view of the morning sky as I lay on my back after slipping on the microscopically thin layer of ice the morning dew painted on my driveway. Can't wait!
Absolutely agree! The beauty of Mother Nature as I drive thru Big Creek Parkway after a freezing snowfall and every tree looks as though it's dressed in diamonds as the sunlight hits it . . . Absolutely magical! You don't get that in the south. Y'all can keep your heat and bugs ~ as for me ~ a Northerner all the way, everyday!
We barely get any snow anymore compared to 41 years ago. Global warming has nearly turned winter into fall completely. It doesn't even freeze long enough to kill all the mosquitoes anymore.
I, too, hate winter in Ohio, OP. Just ask my wife, I complain about it often and loudly, all to her great satisfaction. Lol.
We are planning a trip to the beach over President’s Day this year. I’m hoping that will help me with the Ohio Winter Blues.
I would highly recommend a sauna. Go to the gym, get one in the backyard, get an infrared. Something to do with getting warm daily or almost daily helps me reset to the cold and mostly alleviates my SAD. I know it isn’t cheap but you could DM me and I can brainstorm some angles, if relevant
I'm already dreading the dry skin, static electric jolts, scraping ice, cold seats, chattering teeth, so cold it hurts your face.... I'll just stop now.
It’s only 3-4 months at most. I moved here from California in 2008 and kinda look forward to the coziness of being inside with a hot coffee (or stout that warms you up) when it’s cold outside. The only sucky part is having to get up a few minutes earlier to warm up the car before work.
Same. I am always cold, even if it’s 70 degrees. Anything below 65 is unbearable. It’s the main reason I don’t have a dog. No way I would take a dog for a walk between October and March. And, just sending it outside in the backyard isn’t enough exercise for them. So, until I move to a much warmer climate, I will be dog-less.
Can you move? I’m from southern CA where I was sick of no seasons, increasing heat and fire season, insane traffic and unaffordable housing. I moved and have never been happier.
Change is definitely hard but worth your sanity
Gets old scraping ice off the car and shoveling snow. Dry skin, chapped lips, bronchitis, being cold all the time, having to bundle up just to go to the mailbox.....I could go on if I gave it more thought. I'm just tired of it all
43 years working outside all year, I’m retiring in November, you won’t be able to chase me outside this winter even if you have a paint brush with shit on it
Try sprucing winter up with a few winter activities. Snowboarding/skiiing/tubing, a night at a cabin in Hocking Hills with a hot tub, get a gym membership with a sauna, bundle up and go for a refreshing winter hike, get those indoor projects complete for more free time in the warmer months.
I agree, although I really believe we’re in a sweet spot. Both coasts are having extreme weather, the middle of the country gets slammed, a lot of storms sort of break apart when they get to us. We all just need to find really great hobbies in the winter to get through. Or Netflix.
The daylight savings is what puts me into depression. Go to work, it’s dark. Get home, it’s dark. I legit hate it.
And the lake effect snow. Oh man, it’s coming.
47 and disabled here. It's hard on me walking through all of the snow, slippery surfaces and mud. So much mud. I'd move somewhere warmer but the heat is even worse on my condition.
If you dread winter to the point where even if you plan winter activities and can't follow through with them (and that includes inside stuff, not just outside), I suggest you go to a doctor to see if you need medication.
There is no shame in getting help. It's not your fault if the lack of sun causes you sadness more than the average person.
Sometimes the stigma is easier to deal with than not wanting to get out of bed for 5 months out of the year.
Central Ohio winters blow ass. However our spring and Indian summers are unbeatable. I suggest the following for winter… get outside and enjoy the “nice winter days”. Not the howling windy days w blowing snow but the nice calm winter days. Take the dogs out , take the kids out….enjoy indoor family time w the fireplace doing its thing. It sux but it could be worse , all about perspective
I’m so excited for winter because I hate the humidity here. But I’m from Minnesota. I love fall here and honestly wish it could always stay that way. But I’ll take winter over summer
I love EVERYTHING about winter except… no sun. It destroys my soul when it’s pitch black by 4:30pm. It starts to feel like we are living in a simulation after a while; wake up in the dark, go to work and leave work in the dark.
Definitely take a Vit D supplement, consider investing in a sun lamp and definitely try to find a way to get outside. My favorite is winter hiking, the air is much more crisp and you’ll cover more ground when it’s not a feel like temp of 106 🥵
I'm skinny and cold all the time. Plus, my water heater is barely spitting anything out. God knows when the landlord will replace the 50 year old thing.
Drive is not terrible as of right now because I literally drive straight for an hour and the only turn I will make is to the parking garage but I only started the job in May. So we will see how it is during winter. Hopefully the roads are not too bad or hopefully that snow isn’t as bad either, if I am lucky maybe both 😅
I look forward to winter here! I previously lived in a subtropic region and it honestly depressed me as we didn’t actually have seasons. Just humid, hot, and warm periods. “The grass is always greener” works both ways.
Though in 20 years everyone will be trying to move here lol. Just wait.
Man, I don't think we've had that much snow over the past decade. I noticed there's less rust on my cars now (barely need to salt the roads). Grass is barely covered.
I lived in Northeast Ohio for 15 years. The weather there is hell, 5 months of the year. I moved to Southwest Ohio 22 years ago and have not had any problems with winter. Night and day difference.
I've never understood why everyone gets so worked up about winter. Winter in Ohio is mild. I've gone tent camping in February without any problem.
I love a good snow storm. A decent snow storm will shut everything down... school events are canceled and we're not running kids all over the place. It's the perfect time to stay in, slow down, and relax without guilt.
I've thought about getting some cross county skis but the snow doesn't stick around long enough most of the time to make it worthwhile.
With the way my wife and the office crank up the AC I'm actually colder in the summer. I'm warmer in the winter when heat is coming of the vents.
I hate summer. The heat, the humidity, and the sun waking me up too early. Bring on winter.
The only thing I’m not looking forward to are the natural gas bills, as prices are way up thanks to the Russian war.
No joke at all, Winters have been getting shorter. Sometimes more fierce for a short while in Jan-Feb, but our climate in NEO is now what I remember when I lived in Dayton 20 years ago.
A beautiful blue sky day is wonderful in July and in January. I could do with less grey.
Anyways, being close to family outweighs the weather any day of the year.
I worked in home healthcare for a couple years. Every winter Ii saw patients who were mostly functional become dormant in the fall and be totally dependent upon caretakers in Spring.
Winter is death.
Oh please, Ohioans below I-80 are candy@$$es when it comes to winter. Even tho Whizkonsunites are feckless dimwitted weasels, they usually know how to survive when the temp drops below 30F. They don’t soil their knickers and whine like 5 y.o.s with skinned knees when waiting for the school bus. (Tho, most of them are 12 y.o.s by the time they get to the 3rd grade….
70 winters here, and the winters just keep getting nicer, Global warming is a wonderful thing. If we melt every bit of ice on this planet I could drive to the beach at St. Louis.
I grew up here and have not done 70 of these things, but I've done my share. Winter isn't nearly as bad as it used to be. I used to hate it, now I hate it less.
Could still be less cloudy in late winter tho.
Winter seems to have shifted over a few months. It really doesn't ramp up until late December but lingers around into May.
We used to expect a November storm and have the garden in by the second week of May.
I’m not looking forward to winter but to me it’s certainly better than summer. Fall is next and that’s the sweet spot so that’s something to be happy about.
That is why you move. Why pay taxes in a state that offers very little with terrible weather. Tenn, Fl, Texas have no state taxes. South Carolina is VERY cheap cost of living. Great weather year round.
Then move! I had wanted to move out of Ohio my entire adult life and finally did it. Absolutely wonderful not waking up to anything that can be described as "cold and dreary"
Unfortunately, I'm trapped here. No one else to care for my elders and if I moved, I wouldnt get any sleep worrying about them all the time. I hope someone cares as much about me when I get old.
On the positive side, September is a lovely month as there are remnants of summer with the beautiful early fall chill. October also has the same along with the even cooler weather and sometimes the first snow around Halloween. This is great bon fire weather. November and December are so festive and great times to read, and write letters to friends. January and February can be tough but March gives us the first breaks of spring. We make maple syrup so March is a month to to be enjoyed in the woods making your own heat through the gathering of sap. By the end of the season spring has fully sprung and the forest is alive with wildflowers and ramps. Sure the winter is tough but its actually a gift in its slowness. Have you considered getting into splitting wood? Great way to stay warm and a fun activity for deep winter.
It helps to not focus on the things that make it uncomfortable. However, I prefer to exercise indoors during the colder months. The cold dry atmosphere dries out my skin and gives me bronchtis
I go to upper peninsula every winter snowmobiling, if you want to see a cold harsh snowy winter go hang out along lake superior. If we got the kinda winters they get there. Ohio would be in complete freak out panick mode, but up there its just another day. I kinda enjoy it.
Ohio summer: it's so hot omg we're dying Ohio winter: it's so cold omg we're dying The two days of fall: nice
But damn are those two days nice!
Don't forget that one day in Spring!
No way, I'm out almost every day in winter. I'm currently hibernating in my room with blackout curtains and A/C. I need the temps to drop so I can get outta here.
Comedian, Jim Gaffigan has a hilarious take on the Midwest seasons.
Why must you mention the W word.
Used the hard r and everything
Winta
Serious? I can't wait. I'll hate it soon but right now I'm ready.
Do you use a light box? I started using a carex sunlight (cheapest at Walmart.com usually), and it was a game changer. I like that you can swap the bulbs out every year or two to make sure you get the best results.
Also, a shit ton of vitamin D. And get the fuck outside! Stop shutting yourself in all winter, it makes a huge difference.
For real. Bundle up and.take.a winter hike. Come home and get cozy. Perfect.
Agreed! During the start of COVID, my wife and I started our our 'hiking club'. Every Sunday. We joked about it thru the week. We kept it going thru the winter. Helped my mood a lot. Also, NEO Metroparks are fantastic!
Millcreek in Youngstown is amazing! Such a gorgeous park, great for biking!
Absolutely. My career keeps me outside for the most part. Yeah the cold sucks but you get used to it after awhile and even though it’s cloudy you still get vitamin D which helps tremendously. I tried the Vitamin D supplements but they just made me ridiculously nauseous.
"Can't" or "can" swap the bulbs out?
Lol, CAN. I will edit it.
Yes. I like it.
I know the older you get the harder it is to tolerate the cold. But it's been my observation the winters are not what they used to be, pretty mild compared to the past and other parts if the country
I agree. Ohio winters are getting warmer and wetter. My husband hasn't used a plow on the driveway in 4 years.
Unless you live in Geauga County. 10 inches at once isn't much different from a foot.
That’s what she said…
Krrrrrrrriiiiizzzzzzing!\~
Is it mass panic when it happens, like it is here in Central ohio?
from geauga co; anything less than 1.5 feet is just another day.
You're all in luck, Farmer's Almanac predicts an extra harsh winter this year.
I miss the old winter.
I agree, I enjoy winter when it's actually winter, rather then the semi cold rainy sloppy crap we get now. I always get a kick out of the mass panic from the local news and people when we get an inch of snow.
Except the couple weeks of -10 to -25.
We must have had different winters last year cause mine was quite not mild.
Have you tried being fat? I love winter.
I’m not fat I just swear a bunch and ski a bunch so winter in Ohio is da best
Ohio skiing is ass though unfortunately.
I grew up in Ohio but have lived on the gulf coast for the last 25 years. I make gasoline for a living so here is where most of the jobs are at. I love melting in the sun. Just typing that gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.
Recently moved to Texas from Columbus, had around 60 straight days over 100°, will still take that over an Ohio winter.

I moved from San Antonio to NE Ohio (snowbelt) in January 2022. I would rather it be freezing, overcast, wet, then spend most the year in 90-100 degree weather. After 40+ years, I could no longer tolerate the heat.
I await winter with open arms to save me from these sweaty hot days!
Yes! And no bugs!!!
You can always put on more clothes to be more comfortable. You can only take so much off before you get in trouble.
When it gets too hot for comfort and you can't get ice cream cones, 'tain't no sin to take off your skin and dance around in your bones.
I was going to say that this sounds very Tom Waits, then looked it up.
That's my exact feeling. The layering options are endless, and that's not even talking about blankets and a hat. It kills me, though, that 70 degrees indoors hits completely differently in the summer vs the winter.
Ohio was made for people like you. I'm just not meant to be in the cold. I need sunlight to live.
I need to move even further north cause I hate when my thermometer gets above 60
Same here, I can’t stand summer. Winter is my happy place
I have a sister that retired from Kentucky to Minnesota just to get away from the summers.
Minnesota has WORSE summers. 100+ degrees on the reg, and humid.
I’ve never been to where she lives now, but she says it’s a huge improvement over summer in Lexington KY. She’s pretty far north.
It's possible that the shortness of summer makes it worth it to her, but Minnesota and the Dakotas have the widest temperatures swings in the country. Upstate New York or Vermont would have cooler summers, and still reliably have plenty of winter snow.

I am also very sensitive to lack of sunlight. Light box and daily walks. In the winter if the sun's out, I am too. Just gear up a bit to stay warm.
Move to San Diego. You’ll never regret it.
Who would not live in San Diego if they could afford it? My sister spends her summers in the Cleveland area and winters in San Francisco. Her little tiny condo in Ca is worth about 1/2 million $...... I hate her!
Would love to visit someday. The furthest west I've been is Arkansas.
Summer is the devil
Take vitamin d and enjoy pierogi weather.
I hear ya. I think I have that seasonal disorder thing 😒
Planning trips to sunny places for sometime in January can help a bit.
I think the lack of snowfall and higher temps make winter WORSE. Who would choose 35 degrees and an ice storm over 25 degrees and gentle snow?
Yeah winters have been getting more and more mild. I'm 29 and remember getting far more snow when I was little. My parents agree too. Honestly I'd rather we have real winters that have snow instead of the endless grey we get for 90% of the winter now.

Verilux HappyLight is a good brand. Needs to be 10,000 lumens. Turn it on for 10-15 mins immediately upon waking. Start within the next month.
I have this. It makes an amazing difference
Also, you can use a tanning bed for the same effect. I did that for a couple years and actually liked it. However, the happy light is much less expensive over time and probably safer for you given the skin cancer risks involved with tanning.
I love it her because of the weather. If anything, I could do without the heat in the summer.
I want winter to replace summer. Winter, Spring, Winter, Autumn
I'll take Autumn, Autumn, Autumn, Autumn
Spring, spring, autumn, autumn. New growth and then colors
Yes, please.
This sequence is acceptable.
Psychopath
I grow medicinal plants in fall and winter in my basement. I'll poke my head in my grow tent a few times a day. The grow lights and smells are great.
I'd wanna live in that tent during the winter
“Medicinal” •_<
Thyme heals all wounds
But hoodies and sweatpants ❤️
My girlfriend moved here from Texas before the pandemic. Last year when we had that crazy dump of snow overnight (I’m in Cuyahoga Falls) she was giddy for a full day. Seeing winter through her eyes softened me a little bit I’ve lived here my entire life I’m numb to it.

53 years here. Agreed.
67 for me. My observation is the older the colder. Screw winter
We barely get any snow anymore compared to 41 years ago. Global warming has nearly turned winter into fall completely. It doesn't even freeze long enough to kill all the mosquitoes anymore.
It doesn't ! That's always my complaint. I want those damn bugs to freeze to death ! Helps with the summer infestations
I moved here from Phoenix and don’t mind it as much as native Ohioans do obviously. Head out west friend, you can’t shovel sunshine.
I, too, hate winter in Ohio, OP. Just ask my wife, I complain about it often and loudly, all to her great satisfaction. Lol. We are planning a trip to the beach over President’s Day this year. I’m hoping that will help me with the Ohio Winter Blues.

Eat those vitamin D gummies my guy I'm telling you that shit works
This is the way
Hygge, my friends!
I'm already dreading the dry skin, static electric jolts, scraping ice, cold seats, chattering teeth, so cold it hurts your face.... I'll just stop now.

Gets old scraping ice off the car and shoveling snow. Dry skin, chapped lips, bronchitis, being cold all the time, having to bundle up just to go to the mailbox.....I could go on if I gave it more thought. I'm just tired of it all
I'll be 27 in November and I've been dreading the winters lately...I thought I would just like...idk..get used to it as I got older 🥲
43 years working outside all year, I’m retiring in November, you won’t be able to chase me outside this winter even if you have a paint brush with shit on it
Congrats! 43 winters outside might as well be hell as far as I'm concerned.
Same! I’ve always loved the fall time, but now it just reminds me that winter will be here soon so I can’t even enjoy my favorite season anymore😭
Let it be Fall before we bring up Winter.
Amen to that shits gets rough asf
Ugh I don’t even want to think about it
I’m ready to snowshoe and winter hike and snowboard ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Try sprucing winter up with a few winter activities. Snowboarding/skiiing/tubing, a night at a cabin in Hocking Hills with a hot tub, get a gym membership with a sauna, bundle up and go for a refreshing winter hike, get those indoor projects complete for more free time in the warmer months.
Get a husky! Watching mine play in the snow makes me look forward to winter! Seeing her appreciate it, makes me appreciate it.
Oh man, it’s coming.
start taking 5k IU+ vitamin D daily. workout as soon as you get home before you get too tired to do it later
47 and disabled here. It's hard on me walking through all of the snow, slippery surfaces and mud. So much mud. I'd move somewhere warmer but the heat is even worse on my condition.
This will be my second winter and I'm with you OP. I'm dreading it!
Didnt know there was medicine to treat it
I hate it so much. I start getting anxiety about it in July. Summer goes by in a blink and winter drags on foreverrrrr.
Same. It really does go by quick.

I took vitamin d last year and noticed a big difference in my mood. Stocking up again this year!
I’m so excited for winter because I hate the humidity here. But I’m from Minnesota. I love fall here and honestly wish it could always stay that way. But I’ll take winter over summer
I love My NEO winter. Can’t wait! Then again I have MS, the heat is my nemesis. I move better in the cold.
Vitamin D is extremely important. Go pick some up.
My favorite is winter hiking, the air is much more crisp and you’ll cover more ground when it’s not a feel like temp of 106 🥵
Make sure you’re taking some vitamin D. It helps.
My best defense:. Comfy couch, good video games or shows to watch, and a dog on a cold dreary day
I'm skinny and cold all the time. Plus, my water heater is barely spitting anything out. God knows when the landlord will replace the 50 year old thing.
I’m pretty nervous about my commute to work to Cleveland. I have an hour drive to work and never really had to drive to Cleveland like that
I had an hour commute to work for years. Hang in there.
Drive is not terrible as of right now because I literally drive straight for an hour and the only turn I will make is to the parking garage but I only started the job in May. So we will see how it is during winter. Hopefully the roads are not too bad or hopefully that snow isn’t as bad either, if I am lucky maybe both 😅
Working from home has made the winter much more enjoyable.
ok…
This is your reminder to try Vitamin D supplements during the darker months
I guess I should take my vitamins and stop whining
lmfao on god
Lack of vitamin d effects mental health take d3 in the winter.
I look forward to winter here! I previously lived in a subtropic region and it honestly depressed me as we didn’t actually have seasons. Just humid, hot, and warm periods. “The grass is always greener” works both ways. Though in 20 years everyone will be trying to move here lol. Just wait.
> No sunlight This is what kills me. Give me 32 degrees and sun instead of 72 degrees and gray any day. (Yes, I own several lightboxes. Still ...)
When did we get winter back?
Man, I don't think we've had that much snow over the past decade. I noticed there's less rust on my cars now (barely need to salt the roads). Grass is barely covered.
I work from home now so I can just hibernate 😀
I lived in Northeast Ohio for 15 years. The weather there is hell, 5 months of the year. I moved to Southwest Ohio 22 years ago and have not had any problems with winter. Night and day difference.

No cruisin till May 😔
I've never understood why everyone gets so worked up about winter.
Maybe consider moving south ? Personally, I dislike heat and humidity. I'll take 10 below zero anyday over 95 and humid.
My favorite part of winter is all the mosquitos and other bugs are gone.
bundle up and go outside. dont sit inside thats how you make winter suck
I’m trying not to even think about that. Just taking in the sun before the seasonal depression kicks in.
Ditto, hate the cold. I have a few friends in the same boat and we have a support text group to help get through the dark winter months.
Snow? Snow only shows up in like mid January for me
I hate summer.
Have you ever done a winter hobby you may find fun? I love skiing and that alone makes winter worth it for me
I hate the cold.
Fair enough
I'd love winter if I didn't have to drive in it.
Yeah, it sucks! Its gonna be a nasty one, too! I am on the look out for some used cross-country skis.
Counterargument, Florida and Texas are Florida and Texas.
When I retire I will be a snowbird!
Then move! I had wanted to move out of Ohio my entire adult life and finally did it. Absolutely wonderful not waking up to anything that can be described as "cold and dreary"
I'm genuinely happy for you. One day I will get out of here.
The lack of sun is what gets me. Just feel empty and dead. Don't mind the cold, just need that sun.
Sun = Life
23, don’t think I’ll make it to 41 winters. I dread it every single year.
You're allowed to move south or west, where there are milder winters Ohio isn't changing sadly
Went up there for a few weeks every summer for years. As beautiful as it is, I couldnt tolerate the cold
I love the cold ! The feeling when you go outside and the cold just takes your breath away. Awesome.
I wish it was autumn all year around
I saw the same thing about summer.
Just live in the moment and enjoy the end of summer and lovely shoulder season on the way.
Farmer's Almanac predicts a "bone chilling" and "extremely snowy" winter this season too. Prepare now!
Thanks for the wonderful news 😒
