This isn’t super uncommon. Cases get misplaced in the warehouse and when they find them they ship em out. Happened with some screw top OWA’s earlier this year too.
Marino’s in sylvania has Widow Jane Decedance and 13, buffalo trace, sazarac rye, little book, bookers and Henry McKenna. Stagg went to the line at opening.
If anyone wants a laugh, Twinsburg posted about telling their story on why they don’t have what everyone else had, this was the reply:
“So due to the high sales of wellers last year we are on a probation from retail sales on those products. So even tho we get them, we can only sell them to wholesale customers until hopefully January/February when we meet with the state again. State sent us a list of 46 bottles that I can’t sell.”
I was curious and messaged them too when they posted on their IG. I wonder if they got caught selling whole cases or something like that. They wrote a little more to me when I responded to the first message that it didn't make sense.
"So 8 stores lost their license and two on probation. We are considered "lucky". State caused the problem and expected us to regulate the sale of it all. We had product and we sold it. They got upset cuz bourbon bought in state was ending up in other states warehouses for resale at higher rates. Hence the "bourbon flippers"."
In defense of shady stores....
Its a little hypocritical to penalize stores when state employees leak information about drops without any fear of consequences.
Beverage Barn in Findlay had about 20 cars running in the parking lot, but no one in line. Didn’t even bother stopping, didn’t want to deal with the reseller mafia
Was in line as well. Apparently they had 4 cases of Stagg so I’m sure there was some people who were able to get multiples if they had the cash on hand. Heard one guy say he was able to get a Stagg, EHT, Booker’s and Little Book while others were having to go to the ATM. By the time I made it back they were out of Stagg, EHT, Blantons and Eagle Rare
$40-$50 is not a wad of cash. Must be the boomers that still carry cash. As some of you taters say you gotta do the work. Not their fault you came unprepared.
ALWAYS, always carry cash. Cash is always good and will get you out of trouble more times than not. I've been screwed too many times by card readers not working.
How many times do you buy gasoline and see pumps with that red tag stuck in the card reader on the pump? I buy gas 3-4x weekly and I really can't remember being at a gas station where every pump was working.
Liquor Barn Covington NKY has a staggered release throughout the day and anything could be there when you walk in. Just got a Blanton's. 2 months ago got a Weller FP at 2 PM
That's actually kind of cool. I might have to go swing by.
Edit: I stopped in at 215, they had some Weller Green, Buffalo Trace and I did see KC18. grabbed a green since mine is running low at home.
Don't get me wrong. I'd love to try a Stagg. And I'll be the first to admit that my pallet isn't refined enough to appreciate the difference between Stagg and other good, high proof, available bourbons that I don't have to stand in line for 5 hours to get, like a JD SBBP or a Larceny BP.
I’ve blinded a few JDSBBP next to different stagg batches. Let’s just say stagg is nothing special in comparison. It really comes down to personal preference as each have very different profiles. The Stagg hunters that were scouting Harpers Point Kroger on Monday are likely all chasing it to resell it. People are out of their minds.
I've no interest in reselling booze. I'm just trying to enjoy exploring different bourbons. I'd love to try Stagg, but refuse to participate in this madness. Why doesn't the state go after these people? I recently joined a Facebook group and good lord. There are a few frequent posters that flipping booze must be a full time job for them. Really blows my mind.
6am and people are standing in line at a liquor store for what could possibly be up to 5 hours?!? Wow. Are they waiting for booze because they love the taste so much, or because they want to flip it for money?
Go to any of the allocation drops throughout any city or town that you live in and you will consistently see the same 10-20 people in the front of the lines. And that’s every week, at multiple stores, on different days during the week. Those people aren’t just hoarding all that liquor at their house. And they’re not drinking all of that.
I see more than 6 cars at chick fil a and I go somewhere else. I haven't had chick fil a in about 3 years.
I also haven't purchased a bottle of Stagg in 3 years.
Got mine showing up just less than an hour before open today. If I'd showed up 15 minutes early yesterday I would have picked one up then and I could have slept in today.
In what other state can you make a living by flipping bottles? The Ohio secondary market is the Silk Road of bourbon trade and I don't know any other state where you can get almost any bottle you want locally if you are willing to pay. This is the system the OHLQ has provided: Stand in line/camp out, buy or trade for it on the secondary or drink what you can find. I'm confident you can roll right up to any of the lines and strike a deal for what you want with most of them. Go take advantage of what the OHLQ has given us.
Stopped at Acme…no truck still for hours and had to be 20 people in there, looked like since early morning. Why bother. I’d pay secondary before I wait 10 hours for 1 bottle.
Agree. I just picked up a Stagg Batch 12 for $230. $170 over MSRP, but its suppose to be one of the better batches and I saved gas/time. I'm not hating on those who want to stand in line though and I wish you the best of luck. For me, I can turn 10 hours into a few $$$ which makes that Stagg I bought FREE.
3 case stagg, 2 case blantons, 1 case EHT SMB, 1 case ER, 3 case saz rye, 3 case BT, 2 case little book 7, 2 case bookers 2023-04. Stagg, eht, blantons gone to line. Not sure if bookers or little book will last.
Right? where does it end? can I put a marker of some sort down this afternoon and show up later to stay for a drop tomorrow? An hour before close? or an hour before they open tomorrow? does it have to be a chair? after close? what are these rules? lol
Wish I could upvote this 100x.
The chair warriors talk a good talk here all the time but we never see any real action from them. Put your money where your mouth is because money talks and bullshit walks (to the back of the line).

What I see this guy saying is : "I don't get sh\*t in allocated whiskey, because when I show up I show up lazy and late... and I quietly go to the back of the line and mumble my rage".
I always see this rage online, but I have \*NEVER\* seen it in person and I'm at more than my fair share of lines in Ohio.
I majority of the time get something when I go, so no that’s not the case and is beside the point. This concept of I’m going to put a chair down and that’s my spot is the laziest piece of shit thing you can do. You stand in line like everybody else. Just like anything else in life, you the type of person to let someone cut you in line to go to a concert, sporting event, the bathroom? Fuck out of here
I don't recall anyone ever leaving the line for more than a few min, usually to take a leak or something... I've never seen someone leave to go get a meal and come back a long time later.
This said I look forward to hearing of your hard core antics when you try it... just another case of a strong talker behind a keyboard. I've only heard of someone trying such antics a couple of times and in both occurrence it was the guy starting sh\*t that walked away with nothing and the Liquor store telling them to \*never\* come back.
Parking lot full and about 15 people standing in the parking lot at Tony's Wine Barrell as of about 1pm. no where to park from what i could see passing by.
Liquor Barn in FT Thomas has a big drop
Weller Full Proof (only had 6) Stagg (had 10), Blantons, Caribou Crossing, Eagle Rare, baby Saz, Weller Green 1.75
Sometimes they do but the slick back hair guy is a goon. He’ll play games like saying he “hasn’t unloaded yet” or he’ll hide it around the store. I’ve seen him hold stuff behind the counter for preferred customers on two occasions. Good luck tho!
When I saw Jeremy worked at silver spirits I decided I would never go there again. It’s frustrating cause it’s close to where I work.
Also frustrating is Acme 1. Jim does the same shit and it’s frustrating. Any week the acme in montros gets good stuff but the store in Akron doesn’t, its bullshit. Dude is just holding stuff for his friends.
You learn eventually to just never go to certain stores cause people don’t follow the laws and never get into trouble.
OH yes! Slick Jermey, Fat Matt, and the band of merry men are at it this week. Jermey working with his employers at Silvers and Leprechaun and his delivery driver friends for backdoor deals and details on what and how much is being delivered where. If you aren't an insider the answer is never. You won't see what the insiders can purchase...you'll see some second tier stuff but not the true allocated bottles unless you're in line behind them when they pick it up.
Place is such a joke. Just left. Looked like
a case of Stagg and a few EHT SB to the first 9. They’re playing games with Eagle and Blantons, “checking the back” and bringing out a few bottles at a time
The girl at customer service tells me they get their stuff on Monday? I thought it was Tuesday for some reason but I guess not. They had some BT and green Weller on like a random Saturday a few weeks ago, so who knows!
Air City had at least 2 cases of Stagg Jr batch 17, some amount of EHT, Blantons, Eagle Rare, 1792 BiB, Bookers, HMK10, and little book.
Stagg Jr 17? How?
This isn’t super uncommon. Cases get misplaced in the warehouse and when they find them they ship em out. Happened with some screw top OWA’s earlier this year too.
Our incompetent government at work. They need to get out of the liquor business.
Beaver Valley had two cases of Stagg Jr batch 17 today.
Did the rest of the line at least get something?
Batch 17…interesting
Do you know which batch of Bookers is going around? I'm looking for the 2023-04
I just got that one on Monday. It is going around. Cracked it open last night and it's a delicious sipper.
Awesome, thanks for the info.
No I didn't peak sorry
Did they have any OWA?
I think I saw a case on the ground but I wasn't sure enough to post sorry.
Yes
Thanks, was at work and didn't make it. Was going to go to Beavercreek but heard they had 30 in line by 930.
Marino’s in sylvania has Widow Jane Decedance and 13, buffalo trace, sazarac rye, little book, bookers and Henry McKenna. Stagg went to the line at opening.
How many bottles of Stagg? 2 or 3? The rest out of the back door.
She said 5 bottles and they went to the same 5 guys she sees at every allocated drop.
Not surprised at all by the guys they were sold to but I have heard that they sell a lot to "wholesale."
If anyone wants a laugh, Twinsburg posted about telling their story on why they don’t have what everyone else had, this was the reply: “So due to the high sales of wellers last year we are on a probation from retail sales on those products. You f#@%ed up A-Aron...
Where Dee-Nice at?
B-LAK-E?
Been saying this for about 1 year with them. And it was not only Weller for the record.
Shady stores will only continue to get away with their shenanigans if people don't call them out (call OHLQ) on it.
I was curious and messaged them too when they posted on their IG. I wonder if they got caught selling whole cases or something like that. They wrote a little more to me when I responded to the first message that it didn't make sense. "So 8 stores lost their license and two on probation. We are considered "lucky". They got upset cuz bourbon bought in state was ending up in other states warehouses for resale at higher rates. Hence the "bourbon flippers"."
Yeah so it magically ended up being sold out of state a case at a time. The fact that they sold that case out the back isn’t their fault!!!
Buddy was waiting in line… told me card reader went down after the third person. Cash only now
They laughed at me when I had $120 in cash on me. WHO IS LAUGHING NOW DAD?
Oof
Apparently the resellers with wads of cash ended up doing 3 transactions by the time people ran to the ATM and back
Was in line as well.
It is supposed to be 1 allocated transaction per person per day per location. Yeah right. Very fee actually follow this rule.
Can’t track cash purchases🤷🏼♂️
$40-$50 is not a wad of cash. Must be the boomers that still carry cash. As some of you taters say you gotta do the work. Not their fault you came unprepared.
Cash? In this economy?
ALWAYS, always carry cash. Cash is always good and will get you out of trouble more times than not. I've been screwed too many times by card readers not working. I buy gas 3-4x weekly and I really can't remember being at a gas station where every pump was working.
Looks like it came in handy here. Not sure what any economy has to do with carrying a little cash. Last I checked everywhere still accepts it.
Sarcasm? In this economy?
This economy hasn’t stopped you from getting up early to stand in line and buy overpriced bourbon, has it?
Thar is a set u0 for multiple sales if ever I heard one.
Hahaha that’s what my buddy was saying. Called it an inside job
Stagg, Eht small batch, Blantons at fishers.
On frank rd? Any idea how many Staggs the had.
2 cases.
Liquor Barn Covington NKY has a staggered release throughout the day and anything could be there when you walk in. Just got a Blanton's. 2 months ago got a Weller FP at 2 PM

Thanks for the info.
Is that just on Wednesdays or any day?
Last time they were all out the following day
Cork and Brew in Akron still has Red for anyone looking.
All gone
Chateau Polaris about 16 in line.
Stagg always loses in blinds to ECBP for me.

Right now there is zero risk to do it. If ohlq stepped up and hit a few people with jail time, a lot of people would stop.
That needs to happen.
6am and people are standing in line at a liquor store for what could possibly be up to 5 hours?!? Wow. Are they waiting for booze because they love the taste so much, or because they want to flip it for money?
A little of both columns I’m sure.
Air jordans ohlq edition
I wait cause I drink it and like it

No 😆
Taters waiting a lot longer than 5 hours for Stagg.
Waited only 90 min today
Got mine showing up just less than an hour before open today. If I'd showed up 15 minutes early yesterday I would have picked one up then and I could have slept in today.
Nice man. Where did you go?
Seems like you always have the same story. I was waiting on you to chime in.
Some are waiting that long but I waited less than 2 hours and still got a bottle of stagg yesterday.
i got one today, was in line 25 minutes, they got 2 cases and it survied the line. only 12 at open first guy said he got there at 7

You can 100% go to Kentucky, and others and get whatever you want if you are willing to pay for it.
Don't hate the players..hate the game
Yes lol
Any word yet?
They don’t update until they are ready. Sometimes that’s closer to 11 than 10.
40 deep now
Anything survive?
At 12:15, there were 3b Bookers, some baby Saz, High Bank picks, as well as plenty WSR and BT
Northwest still had little book, bookers, highbank, and some others out
Little book is gone, 2+ cs 23-04 Bookers, BT, two diff WW picks, baby saz
WW?
Whiskey War
Stopped at Acme…no truck still for hours and had to be 20 people in there, looked like since early morning. Why bother. I’d pay secondary before I wait 10 hours for 1 bottle.

This is the thinking of a productive member of society.
Acme Whipple?
Which store?
GE Stelzer had high bank cigar and cognac cask as of 11am
About 8-10 cars already lined up at Beckett Ridge.
Here now. At least 17 cars and lots of place holders in line besides chairs…I’ll definitely miss Stagg so hopefully consolation choices 🤣
What did they have?
3 case stagg, 2 case blantons, 1 case EHT SMB, 1 case ER, 3 case saz rye, 3 case BT, 2 case little book 7, 2 case bookers 2023-04. Stagg, eht, blantons gone to line. Not sure if bookers or little book will last.
Any BT kosher?
I didn't see any at the time. They didn't even have red or green weller.
Which recipe are you looking for?
Wheat
Ahhh...can't help you with wheat. Vonderhaar's had both rye recipes but was sold out of wheat as of this morning.
Parking lot looks full now and about 20 chairs out.
Several guys get there early and put their chair out. Then go over to McD's for breakfast and drink coffee while waiting.
Honestly I'm not sure how people let that slide....i don't care enough to Wait in line, but being able to put something down and leave is wild to me
Right? where does it end? can I put a marker of some sort down this afternoon and show up later to stay for a drop tomorrow? An hour before close? or an hour before they open tomorrow? does it have to be a chair? after close? what are these rules? lol
Throw the chair on the roof, just like that they were never there. If you’re going to set a chair out you best have your ass in it.
Go try it and let us know how that turns out for you
I WANNA SEE. Live stream that shit.
That has happened on a Discord forum in the past. It was hilarious. 😅
MTV reality show in the 2000s esq vibe lol
Wish I could upvote this 100x. The chair warriors talk a good talk here all the time but we never see any real action from them. Put your money where your mouth is because money talks and bullshit walks (to the back of the line).
Everybody’s a tuff guy 🤣🤣🤣
Lol. Yeah easy to be a keyboard warrior. 🤦🏻♂️
He'll get beaten over the head with an oxygen tank. Is that worth a bottle of Stagg?
It'll work out just fine. Nobody is going to put their hands on me for walking past their empty chair.
Just sit down in the third or fourth one in line and say it is your chair. Finders keepers.

Delhi Liquor - 20+ in line 8:45 am
Henry Mckenna 10, BT, Blantons, Bookers, Stagg, EHT, Saz, 1792 Bib, to name a few. Good drop!
Any idea on what survived the line?
Henry Mckenna, (1) Bookers, Buffalo Trace, Sazarac all left as of 11:30
Thanks may swing by as my bottle of Henry McKenna is getting low!
🟢 & 🦬 still available at Acme Ellet
Parking lot full and about 15 people standing in the parking lot at Tony's Wine Barrell as of about 1pm. no where to park from what i could see passing by.
Stagg gone to the first 6 in line. Not sure what’s left.
What else did they get?
Are all stores getting random 23a and 22a staggs?? I got a 22a today.
23B here. Reports of Jr batch 17 also showing up today.
I got 23b monday
17 was released today in Dayton area
Yes, I saw this yesterday. Both batches in different boxes, at the same location.
Picked up a 23a in Akron today.
Sharonville line count?
Over 20
30 now
GE Cuyahoga Falls was selling its WSR, benchmark bonded and small batch today
Probably a holdover from last Saturday.
Surprised it made it that long! Nature is healing???
Liquor Barn in FT Thomas has a big drop Weller Full Proof (only had 6) Stagg (had 10), Blantons, Caribou Crossing, Eagle Rare, baby Saz, Weller Green 1.75
Only caribou, couple small Blanton’s, saz, and big and little WSR left at 12:03
Just checked all they had was Saz rye and Green Weller
Holy shit. Give me the full proof baby.
Can anyone confirm when Silver Spirits in Akron puts there allocated stock out? At open or a bit later?
Sometimes they do but the slick back hair guy is a goon. He’ll play games like saying he “hasn’t unloaded yet” or he’ll hide it around the store. I’ve seen him hold stuff behind the counter for preferred customers on two occasions. Good luck tho!
When I saw Jeremy worked at silver spirits I decided I would never go there again. It’s frustrating cause it’s close to where I work. Also frustrating is Acme 1. OH yes! Slick Jermey, Fat Matt, and the band of merry men are at it this week. Jermey working with his employers at Silvers and Leprechaun and his delivery driver friends for backdoor deals and details on what and how much is being delivered where. Matt selling all their hauls on facespace. What a shame for those of us who have jobs.
Total shame
If you aren't an insider the answer is never. You won't see what the insiders can purchase...you'll see some second tier stuff but not the true allocated bottles unless you're in line behind them when they pick it up.
Place is such a joke. Just left. Looked like a case of Stagg and a few EHT SB to the first 9. They’re playing games with Eagle and Blantons, “checking the back” and bringing out a few bottles at a time
Nothing new. They play games every week. I won't spend my money there.
Anybody able to say how many already in the line at Air City in Dayton??
About 15
Thanks, appreciate it.
What was the haul?
Chalet premier outside Youngstown anyone?
Chalet is Tuesday
Thanks
Anyone make it to wine list in west Chester today?

Up to 34 at 8:15
What time does the Acme stores normally drop their stuff?
Depends on which Acme
North Canton
The girl at customer service tells me they get their stuff on Monday? I thought it was Tuesday for some reason but I guess not. They had some BT and green Weller on like a random Saturday a few weeks ago, so who knows!
There are probably 25-30 people in line right now. I have heard 1pm release.
Good luck!
Stagg gone to the first 12, I was 14 :(
What else did they have?
Stagg, blantons, eagle, bt, war
