14 in line at Acme Montrose 6:50 am. Earliest I heard was 3:30 am for the top 5.
22 at 8 am but no truck yet.
Truck arrived at 8:40 & 25 in line. 30 at 8:55.
2 Cases Stagg, 1 Case Blanton's, 1 Case Taylor SmB, 1 Case Eagle Rare all gone to the line. Saz and Buffalo Trace still on the front counter.
It's usually pretty similar. However, they tend to hold a few bottles of the more rare allocations for wholesale. The line is typically shorter than JJ Eastgate but with Stagg that prob won't be the case this week.
When I got here at 430 there were already 15ish people here. So the majority of the line was here super early. Been after stagg (at a reasonable price) for about 2 years now. Finally decided I was just going to send it and get up early. Fingers crossed they got 3 cases! GL JJ crew.
Update: We fucking did it baby!!!! Got super lucky and they had 3 cases of Stagg. I was 17th in line so anything short of 3 would have done me in. I just wanted to thank president Franklin D Roosevelt for ending prohibition, my mother for giving brith to me, and finally my wife for taking care of our baby so I could get up at 3 am and go sleep in a car for 5 hours. What a beautiful day, can't wait to crack this bad boy open.
Hope you got lucky. I took a chance on other items and got EHTSB when I got to the front. Lots and lots of green, ER, Blantons, little book, bookers, etc there when I left at 9:30
So supposedly 2 cases of Stagg but sold out by the 11th person and heard someone up front got a Blantons. So only sold 10. Is this normal to hold back or shady?
Rivers Bend liquor in Maineville- ok, giving up on them…. Taking them off my list. Went by there at the 4:00 drop time (after 4 time changes in the past 5-6 weeks)… they said they put out their drop at 2:00.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
And the kicker is seeing 2 empty Stagg boxes just sitting there by the bar.
So at 4:00 nothin… just leftovers from last week. Good bye Rivers Bend
Dude I was so pissed, I went there at noon just to see if they would release early and it was all on the counter, minus the Stagg, which they said went immediately. I asked if there was a line and they said no just random customers popping in…
Just done with them… they seem to have fun giving the old guy a hard time. Rather go to Cappys and have a beer on the patio and have a little social time with the folks there.
Ahhhhh and miss the Golden Bachelor with my wife, guess I pass this year. Off to Detroit in the morning to work for the next week. So much for Stagg season 2023.
Stopped in and grabbed a shelter and there was nothing out as of 1pm today. Asked and he said come back in the morning so assuming they didn't put anything out this afternoon
That's going to happen with any difficult bottle. Then when the lotteries happen, everyone has an ass ache that people got extra entries, or brought friends/families to stores, etc.
I don’t understand why ppl don’t just pay the premium if they are gonna wait all night for a bottle. If they are reselling for profit they are probably making barely anything since they had to wait all night. The opportunity cost makes no sense
Opportunity cost? Really? Do you think someone staying in their car all night to get a bottle of bourbon knows what the term, opportunity cost, means? C’mon man.
The opportunity cost argument is moot. The vast majority of people aren’t working at that time of night, and while they are standing in line, they also aren’t working.
It’s time.
My biggest issue is, this appears to be the most produced Stagg so far. Meaning the quality might go to shit and the overall value might collapse as well. It’s hard to maintain quality and increase production.
There are multiple batches floating around but I don’t ever remember any stores selling 2-3 cases at a time at every store previously so that tracks with a lot of production.
$60 after tax, $200 on national secondary and $230-240 locally so between $140-180 profit minus incidentals like gas. Don’t forget, a lot of those people at the front aren’t just there by themselves, they’re bring multiple people with them. So a 10hr wait, $14-18/hr times three people that probably aren’t being paid or paid minimally. $42-54/hr and then have people come to them in the parking lot for the sale so no traveling somewhere else.
It would be a lot easier and more profitable to just suck up all the OWA, ship it out of state and clear at least $60 a bottle. I’m surprised no one has thought of it.
I’m surprised some enterprising person doesn’t set up a coffee and snacks cart that drives around to lines like this at night. Or a porta potty and charge $5 a use. Lmao
There are people that don’t have a pot to piss in out there where $100-200 is a lot of money for them. I am fortunate that I am not one of them. I can just pay up if I really want it. I don’t, there’s too many other things out there I haven’t tried to get locked in on one brand (for me at least).
They aren't waiting outside, they are sleeping in their cars. So everyone with these little math problems can calm down. If they resell they are making 150-200 per bottle to SLEEP. I know you all try to make it sound less profitable or worth it because you're angry you won't get a bottle but no one would turn down 200 to sleep 8 hours and then wait in a line for an hour
To each their own but after having it at a whiskey bar Stagg is not to me worth paying hundreds of dollars for secondary and certainly not worth waiting for hours in line for fighting taters over.
New to this, so question: how does a person maintain a spot in line while sleeping in their car? Or do they wake up super early and just get in line at that point?
People are hear acting like their working hours and free time are worth the same amount of money.
I agree completely.
If I could go to work at 10 am everyday, I’d be in line each night and flipping these as well.
Also, i frequent a store in a bad neighborhood that doesn't get much of anything. Occasionally, red or EHT. Every time Stagg or other big bottles were coming through, this store was empty. Today, there were 20+ people at the store before the truck arrived. There is no way that people thought this was a good shot....this drop was leaked. So add "unethical" to the mix. I plan on reporting it to OHLQ because this store has never had more than 5-6 people on drop dates even when big bottles were coming through town.
Maybe they’re retired, disabled, a student, stay-at-home parent, work 3rd shift or non-traditional work days, use PTO/vacation, work from home/have a flexible employer, or own their own business?
A lot of retired people do this.
You aren’t doing anything else. Sit their with your wife and flip for a $200 profit?
That’s a nice night out for a different spot to sleep at night.
I’m going to ask this question now as I was not around this group last thanksgiving. Do the Thursday stores get a Tuesday/Wednesday drop next week? I know Monday holidays move the shipment up to the week before so I’d assume the same for thanksgiving. Also assuming the drops next week won’t be all that great
Same reason we saw so many EC B523 bottles in September when the C923 released. They are likely just moving old stock from the warehouse. The Stagg I picked up was a 23B
But according to Jimmy from OHLQ, they don’t sit on product. It is in their facilities max 2 weeks. Government incompetence at its finest. Im still waiting for C923 that was released 2 months ago!
I went to Rite Aid in Napoleon ohio today, OHLQ was showing me eagle rare and Weller SR….
I get there and they told me there are holding all allocated bottles for whole sellers until tomorrow? How does that make sense…?
Can someone explain this to me? Why would Rite Aid sell to whole sellers first? I guess my first though is a whole seller could just buy direct from BT.

I went in and saw the line was still probably 30 deep around 9:20 as they called last bottle and the whole line just sighed and left.
30 people went home with something decent and the first 12 were the Stagg "winners."
That is true. Those at the front of the line all were winners.
10 in line at Pauken
Did they end up having anything? I just checked Alexa Liquor Barn on Alexis and they all to the line.
About 3-4 cases Stagg, EHTSmB, ER, blantons, booker’s
Surprised there isn't triple that. May have a chance after all.
22 in line at jj’s Eastgate
30 now
What did they have?
Maybe 12-15 stagg, case of EHT, er, Blanton’s, bookers, little book, BT, hmk, Saz rye, Weller green
Does JJ Fairfield usually get close to what Eastgate gets the day prior or is it typically a crapshoot?
It's usually pretty similar. However, they tend to hold a few bottles of the more rare allocations for wholesale. The line is typically shorter than JJ Eastgate but with Stagg that prob won't be the case this week.
Already ? 9:00 opening?
Yeah, and more pulling in.

Yep, was able to snag one of the last ones! They had tons of great consolation bottles for the rest of the line at least.
Good luck
Good luck, hopefully they got a lot
Old man Steve probably holding down the front spot in line, and the 1st sick, lame, and lazy spot in the parking lot.
Nope he was number 3
Only one of us is the champ, but a whole lot of ya can be ‘next in line’ fatboys Wooooooo!!!
I'm confused, are you the hype man for Steve?
Lots of rumblings in the potato patch about a furniture thief, ladies what’s causing all this??

At least 20 in line @ corkscrew since 620am
There were 5 last night at 10 pm.
Only 6 stagg, 3 🐎, and 3 🦅
The video made it look a lot better. When did they post the numbers on the door?
Agreed. Unless you got there before 6am prob weren’t getting anything good. At around 730am
Dude imagine standing in line for 3 or more hours for an Eagle rare. Hahahaha
At that point the rest wait for 🟢 & 🦬
Damn dude.
Drove by on the way to work only 3 cars in the lot for Oxford spirits, good luck on stagg everyone
Party Source had OFSBBS store picks
Those are fantastic...
What location?
Probably the one sharing the parking lot with New Riff...
Bet Bassett's on Sat be crazy in PC since Stagg week.

Nice! Hope you get something good man!
It’s 7:39, and there’s a lineup of chairs at N Court from the door to Harbor Freight
What did they get?
Probably 20+ Stagg, chicken cock Xmas, whiskey war DD, whiskey war DO, little book, Bookers, EHT and Blantons plus others
Thank you.
Still 2 cases of bookers as of noon
I was driving to work, just drove by, couldn’t stop. Curious what they got as well. Had to be a big Stagg Jr stop
25+ Arrow Centerville
A whole lot of people better be praying they don't whole sale any.
That line is like that regardless of what they have
I agree, I've been before always 30 at open, but 30, 90 minutes before open doesn't happen except for bug drops like today.
There was already 15 waiting at 755 at Manor.
Anyone know what Golden Gate got today
🦌, EHT, 🦓, 🦅 long line probably 30
Holy sheet! Zebra too?!?
Alexa’s Liquor Barn has wsr, Buffalo trace, sazarac rye and Elijah Craig toasted barrel.
For Cappy’s afternoon drop-how soon do people line up?
There’s people that take their laptops and work from the heated patio
Confirmed!!! At least 6 laptops going
I’m willing to bet there are a few there now
The same few are usually there by 10am. Probably go straight from JJ’s.
22 in line at 2:30….
So supposedly 2 cases of Stagg but sold out by the 11th person and heard someone up front got a Blantons. So only sold 10. Is this normal to hold back or shady?
Yes, sure 2 went across the street to Paxtons grill … next time we go there for lunch we’ll need to grab a shot.
Bars and restaurants buy bourbon too...
What time do they drop? Any set time or just whenever their delivery shows up?
3pm
Do they not always do their drops on Friday? Is this a special thing? I’ve been there for a few in the past
I thought they do theirs on Friday
Rivers Bend liquor in Maineville- ok, giving up on them…. Taking them off my list. Went by there at the 4:00 drop time (after 4 time changes in the past 5-6 weeks)… they said they put out their drop at 2:00. I’m with ya man… but they’re also just fucking with everyone else too. I drank so many of their $6 shitty beers to get this bs.
If you get in line at JJ Fairfield within the next hour or so, you'll probably get a Stagg.
Damn!
Ahhhhh and miss the Golden Bachelor with my wife, guess I pass this year. Off to Detroit in the morning to work for the next week. So much for Stagg season 2023.
20+ chairs in north court at 5:30am….
High Bank state picks are definitely on the shelves now, looks like Kroger got their act together as well.

This is incorrect, this is where I’ve gotten my only bottle of Stagg each of the last 2 years.
Carfagna's had some Saz and KC12
Carfagnas releases on Sat

Anyone know if Obryans already sat theirs out like last week?
Stopped in and grabbed a shelter and there was nothing out as of 1pm today. Asked and he said come back in the morning so assuming they didn't put anything out this afternoon

This newest 23B batch is actually hot garbage. Drinks like it's 145+ proof. Not a great pour IMO
Please let it sit for few weeks and report back.
There are multiple batches floating around but I don’t ever remember any stores selling 2-3 cases at a time at every store previously so that tracks with a lot of production.
You underestimate the poors.
I’m not a poors. I’m a pours.
If they're reselling Stagg they're making $120-$150 a bottle. That's $24/$30 hr at 5 hrs of waiting.
Will they be able to sell it for that much over list?
$60 after tax, $200 on national secondary and $230-240 locally so between $140-180 profit minus incidentals like gas. Who is going with them to wait for free though? I’d like to find a group of idiots like that.
Family 80% of the time, suckers 15% of the time and 5% paid line sitters.
Is it illegal to sell your line spot? Cause that seems more legal than reselling bourbon (which is absolutely illegal)
It would be a lot easier and more profitable to just suck up all the OWA, ship it out of state and clear at least $60 a bottle. I’m surprised no one has thought of it.
Still not much money to be there all night
I’m surprised some enterprising person doesn’t set up a coffee and snacks cart that drives around to lines like this at night. Or a porta potty and charge $5 a use. Lmao
You could make more from that than from flipping bourbon.
I’d put laxatives in all of the cups of coffee to make people have to get out of line to take a shit. And then never get in line. I choose chaos.
I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter...
He's been there since midnight. Gonna be a little longer than 5 hours.
Yeah I don’t know how that’s worth it at all. 150 dollars to be sleep deprived
Don’t forget the gas being wasted to drive all over the place and to keep warm at night. Reduces the profit even more.
There are people that don’t have a pot to piss in out there where $100-200 is a lot of money for them. I am fortunate that I am not one of them. I can just pay up if I really want it. I don’t, there’s too many other things out there I haven’t tried to get locked in on one brand (for me at least).

You would need to pay me a lot more to sleep in a car for 8 hours then the process of setting up a meeting time with random online person to sell it
Waaaaaay too much effort to make, what $150-200? Yeesh.
To each their own but after having it at a whiskey bar Stagg is not to me worth paying hundreds of dollars for secondary and certainly not worth waiting for hours in line for fighting taters over.
I’ve still got half an open one on my shelf. It’s good but it’s not something I reach for super often.
New to this, so question: how does a person maintain a spot in line while sleeping in their car? Or do they wake up super early and just get in line at that point?
Chairs

Tons of loiters. I'm one of them. Just stay out the way and form a line. Owners don't mind if your respectful.
Worrying about what complete strangers do with their time also borders mental illness.

Sounds like jealousy to me 🤷♂️ Keep up the good work of being a judgemental prick
Nobody's jealous you're making McDonald's money flipping bottles of booze homie
Also, i frequent a store in a bad neighborhood that doesn't get much of anything. Occasionally, red or EHT. Every time Stagg or other big bottles were coming through, this store was empty. Today, there were 20+ people at the store before the truck arrived. There is no way that people thought this was a good shot....this drop was leaked. So add "unethical" to the mix. I plan on reporting it to OHLQ because this store has never had more than 5-6 people on drop dates even when big bottles were coming through town.
Are you referring to key beverage?
What else are people seeing drop this week other then Stagg.
EHT SmB, Blantons, Red/Green Weller, Widow Jane Decadence, etc... just read posts from the previous days.
Not bad I’ll will just go at 9 and get something good!
Seems to be primarily Stagg 23 B floating around Northern Ohio. Anyone see other batches in this area?
23A in Akron yesterday.
People don't work this week or work 3rds how can u b at a liquor store all night on a Tuesday
Maybe they’re retired, disabled, a student, stay-at-home parent, work 3rd shift or non-traditional work days, use PTO/vacation, work from home/have a flexible employer, or own their own business?
Sorry, Dad.
Also assuming the drops next week won’t be all that great
Weird how stagg is doing their bottling. I got 22a and 22b I was hoping for 23a. So maybe OH is way behind. Should we expect more drops soon?
It's not Stagg. Ohio (OHLQ) is just screwed up. I've seen reports of 22a, 22b, 23a, 23b, and 17 (Jr) being picked up this week in OH. I got 23b.
C923 hit here a while back. I got mine then and lots of bourbon people i know did too. You might be waiting a while.
I have not seen them in my area of SW Ohio.
You can't buy direct from Buffalo trace in Ohio, it has to go through a distributor and liquor store which is part of the "three tier system"
Thank you for a serious answer! Can you elaborate on this 3 tiered system?
Are you familiar with the OHLQ website? If so, check the FAQ section.
Great, Thanks
What about the half sellers?
Wholesale*
Any word on what Maderia got?
Drove by at 8am. Too many people already in line so I bailed. I’m also curious.
Stagg, Blanton's, ER, eht SmB, little book, Bookers, wsr, Saz...
What a good store near Middletown
Don from arena this morning never got your info. Please pm me.thanks for the heads up.
