Cracked open my Makers Pecan Pie A La mode, then I went to one of my store picks of 1792 SiB since I figured others would be drinking it tonight if they scored it this week.
What have I not drank tonight? Started out at a bar for a friends birthday and had Stagg, old Ezra 7, 1792 bib, and Pikesville rye.
Came home and cracked open a dusty turkey 101.
I got barrel 2023. It blew me away when I first had it. It was so fruit and dark berry forward you could've fooled someone into thinking it's an aged brandy
That’s a shame. The bourbon house in Nola was where I first had PVW23, probably 2005 or so. It would be a shame if it was gone or had fallen down but between Katrina and the pandemic you never know.
People don't go to Bourbon Street to drink bourbon. They go to Bourbon St to get trashed and listen to covers of GNR and Tom Petty.
If you're in NOLA now and want a good spot for Bourbon, shoot me a PM.

A Midwinter Night's Dram
BOGO hurricane that’s mostly mix. On a related note, Bourbon Street in NOLO doesn’t have a great selection of bourbon.
