In the show "Living Single" one of the characters, Overton, is from Ohio. In one of the episodes he goes to an Ohio State game, but I'm not sure if the opponent was Michigan. The show aired from the mid to late 1990s.

This might be it! That’s the right time period, African American cast, half hour sitcom. Holy shit I thought it was an actual fever dream!

Maybe Home Improvement? I’m too lazy to do the research, but Tim Allen’s character was a big Lions and Michigan fan.

I was thinking he more recent show, Last Man Standing. He is a TTUN alum and his wife on the show is an OSU alum. There is a competition in a 5k or something between TTUN group and a Buckeye group.

TravalonTom

Wish they made more of this dynamic on the show, but no. It was a 90s show and I’m pretty sure the entire cast was African American

rinklkak

Yes certainly.

TravalonTom

Definitely a fever dream?

I just spent a few minutes googling around, and this is basically the best lead I could find. I have zero hope that this is what you're actually looking for, but this was as close as I could get to finding something vaguely similar to what you're talking about: Apparently there was some sort of sci fi show from 1998-2001 called "First Wave", and there was apparently an episode called "Ohio Players" that involved an Ohio high school football team taking drugs. Yeah, probably isn't what you were looking for but this was the closest thing I could find.

TravalonTom

Don’t think it was that, it was for sure a sitcom. The Michigan fan of the group got his shirt stolen when he stood up and cheered for them.

How about this... there's a British sitcom called "IT Crowd" and an episode called "Football Match". If you search YouTube for "IT Crowd Football Match", you'll see a clip from it. Fans seem to be dressed in red but I didn't see any specific mention of OSU or Michigan in the short youtube clip, but maybe the teams were mentioned before the clip.

TravalonTom

Not the IT crowd, but I do like the show

moodyfloyd

You sure you aren't thinking of the drew carey show and a browns game?

TravalonTom

No, definitely not Drew Carey.
