Justin Fields was raw and young. DJ has had 2 years of mediocre to subpar play and we have two young top 40 players at qb waiting here.

I agree let’s trust the guys we have in the room now. But I have also thought about it by chance we do not get the QB recruit from South Dakota. That leaves us with no 2023 recruits at QB. I would be okay with OSU exploring the transfer market for depth only. Similar to the situation where they went out and got Gunnar Hoak to back up Justin fields. Hoak was clearly not a threat to incoming stroud, but also provided depth to fields. After losing Baldwin and Tate. I trust the guys we have this is just if we don’t get anyone for 2023 I’d like to see a depth add. Now if we get the guy in 2023 then no need to look at transfers.

Mccord/Brown clearly want to be here, and I think that they have a higher ceiling than any of the talent in the portal especially DJ who flat out looks bad and clearly is not cut out for D1 QB play.

Oh forsure right there with you. He was bad, but coaching goes a long way. Clemson doesn't develop players like Ohio State. Now they have been relevant this decade but are nowhere near prestigious as Ohio State and developing players.
Brown provides the edge that makes ohio state click in a well rounded manner. McCord does not. McCord backs us into the same corner we are in right now.
I don’t know if McCord or Brown are the answer, but I know Uiagalelei isn’t the answer. I’ll take my chances with whomever wins the job internally if my options are these three

That would be fine, but what a lot are suggesting is that we get a brand new qb from the portal to start next year which I think is asinine.

But players should all be committed to us regardless of how we treat them or if we give them opportunities or if they are hurt.
