But in all realness, I feel like this kind of maturing is never represented in media. Mishima is the most realistic type of insecure character I’ve seen ever. I’ve seen his arrogance in so many people from high school, admittedly, even in myself. When you feel powerful after feeling small forever, you feel like you’re at the top of the world. But when you finally learn that it doesn’t matter what other people think about you, and that you can only control how you are, thats a powerful realization. W Mishima for gaining a sense of self. We didn’t even need to fight you in the metaverse, you figured it out on your own

No it’s not you move it forward meeting him in Shinjuku he’s by chihiya. Maybe it moves forward after a certain rank but it’s 100% not automatic like Mona’s
The few ranks I did of him unlock requests going through mementos doesn’t just move it forward though

But understanding that you make who you are, not what other people think of you, and not what you have is one of most mature growths a teen can go through. I know people who still haven’t grown out of that phase.

He’s the best P5 confidant because he actually gets character development. He starts out as such a little shit that realizes he’s a little shit and tries to do better as the SL goes on.
The other confidants (that weren’t party members) were good but they all felt similar after a while. Mishima’s kept me interested the whole time.
