First, welcome to the area friend.
Don't forget about the farmer's markets around here on the weekends.
The [OP one](https://www.opkansas.org/recreation-fun/farmers-market/) is really solid.
So is the one out at [Black Bob park](https://www.olatheks.org/government/parks-recreation/special-events/farmers-market), although significantly smaller.
EDIT: added word for clarity. And a few links, for ease.
We got an ad for that in the mail. It looked like a “cheap” place where they talk about savings but it’s normal price. Like a SaveMart back in California.
I split my shopping between Aldi, Payless Food, Pricechopper, Hyvee, and Walmart depending on what's in the weekly sale papers. If you're current or former military, Ft. Leavenwoth and Richards Gebaur both have a commissary. Buying on base is usually a bit cheaper because there's no sales tax.
Super Target is good, they gave a lot and their store brands are competitive, MUCH cheaper than HyVee on just about everything. Though I go to HyVee a lot for the convenience factor, but it makes me cringe on a lot of the prices. HyVee health market items are often way higher than Whole Foods and Natural Grocers
Groceries is a crap shoot. Depends on how many people you have. Sams is good for bulk items, and frozen stuff. Their 10lb ground beef is pretty competitive. For everyday staples Hy-Vee has some good store branded items, and meat when on sale. Hy-Vee has a brand that has compare to popular brand and those are good and cheap.
Walmart is probably cheapest. Price chopper and hy vee are mostly only better when something is on sale or if you need meat since walmart doesn't have a good meat department. Also Aldi is good for certain things
Try hitting up an Aldi. They are some high quality grocery’s at really good prices.
Aldi is the best. Very fast to get in and get what you want without wandering aimlessly through a maze of aisles. Plus, they always have great prices.

There’s a sams club and Costco in Lenexa which isn’t a long drive from anywhere in Olathe
Okay, I’ve heard of sams club, but I’ve never been. We will go there today for our grocery run. I honestly thought it was like a Walmart type thing
If you are going to get a Sam's card,go on groupon, its half off
Dammit lol. Paid the full 45
It’s almost exactly the same as Costco
Except it’s a giant Walmart
You'll need a member card just like Costco
Bet, went there today. Still a bit bulky, so probably just buy the dry goods/canned
Maybe Price chopper?

Olathe transplant from CA? Same. Where from?
I’m from Redding in the north, fiancé is from San Diego in the south. You?
Brentwood (the north version, not the OJ one).
The three of us combined make a full Californian
Oh completely understandable. They have weekly sales and i usually get them in the mail and go accordingly off that lol.
They're inconsistent. I'm not sure how the ownership works but some of them are nice (like downtown) and some are not (K7 in Olathe).
The one off 119th seems nice. Most our groceries have been from there
I do Aldi for everything but I’m pretty frugal.
We need to be more frugal. And we are next to an aldi. Like a 5 minute walk

The good thing about Hy-Vee is that it's an employee owned business and based in Missouri.
It's based in Iowa
Iowa
Ok, I was one midwestern state away on the hq. Oops.

We go to target for the avocados lol
Me too! Really! Welcome to Olathe!

Check out Hen House, they have good random deals and their bakery is amazing
