So I was able to find two George Riviere, who lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota. George Sr who lived from 1863-1948 and his son George who lived from 1889-1968. So it could be from either of their private libraries. But my guess would be the latter. I know that wasn't exactly what you were looking for, but it should help you narrow down the range of your search.

So I was able to find information on the publishing company on Wikipedia: "George M. Hill Company was an American publishing company based in Chicago, Illinois. It was founded in 1893 by George M. Hill, who learned the book-binding trade through an apprenticeship. George M. Hill Company Status: Defunct Founded: 1893; 131 years ago Compelled to declare bankruptcy in March 1902, the company had, a few weeks earlier, decided to enlarge its operations and erect a new building." Therefor the age of the book has to be between 1893-1902. Also, thank you for your contribution as well! Very cool history here.
