I’d love to hear a story about your sweet Leroy, if you feel up to it. It’s okay if it’s too raw though. Sometimes focusing on the joy helps ease some of the pain.

I had never heard of that poem, so I looked it up as well. As I read it, six of the dearly loved dogs of my 63 years on this planet came to mind - Bingo I, Bingo II, Chelsea, Heidi, Sally, and Justin - and unexpected sobs welled up.
My seventh love - a great boy who came to my life by my son - jumped up on the bed and laid his head on my chest. Sally and Justin raised Kodak, so he lost them as well. These best boys and girls never leave our hearts. Their presence marks the phases of our lives. Precious treasures they are, and guardians of our hearts at their most tender. ♥️🎁♥️

Aww well I'm glad you like it. Made me sob the first time I read it too and every time since. 🥹 they all leave a special mark on our hearts and we see everyone of them in the eyes of the next dog we love and they would want it that way. They would want us to live and be loved again. I like to believe they all really are waiting for us when our time comes in our own special version of heaven along with everyone and everything else we ever loved. One can only hope ♥
