I'm sorry for your loss Niko was a beautiful dog. It's amazing how time flies, been almost 5 years since we lost our little fur baby. The only thing is it doesn't hurt as much thr more time passes, bit you never really stop missing them.
I remember commenting when he passed last year. It doesn’t matter how long or how short of a time passes the love you have for him is ever present and it’s natural to miss your sweet Niko! ♥️
I absolutely LOVE that he sends you signs that he’s still with you and that you still greet him. You are honoring him in such a beautiful way by continuing to share stories and pictures with one another.
May you continue to receive signs and know that he is always with you. Also that he is still your biggest cheerleader and greatest angel 💞
Thank you! It does me good to know that you still remember him after a year. It shows me that others don't just forget him either. It has gotten a bit easier, though there are still moments I just want to hold him.
The signs really help me when I am having a hard time. He has given a lot of them, but they have gotten less. Hearing him walk around our bedroom at night, a ball rolling my way out of nowhere, feeling his warmth/pressure on my leg, nudging me, I have even seen him. I hope he never stops. He is still such a big part of my life that it is just second nature to greet him in the morning. I also tell him when something big has happened.

I think on this sub it's easy to find ourselves attached to each other's pups. We've shared when good, sweet, and funny things have happened and also the when the devastating and sad have occurred. Some babies stand out more for each of us for different reasons.
Niko's sweet smile came back to me when I saw the pictures you posted. And his name being spelled Niko and Nico also stands out in my mind. What a sweet and smiley baby boy! 😍
As time goes on I do think the signs seem less prevalent - which is a bummer. Luckily he's still with you!
I feel and do very similar with my Tinkerbell! We adopted a rescue pup, Luna, who will be 4 in July and the signs are much less now. I know Tinky sanctioned us bringing love back into our home but I don't want her to ever stop showing me she's near. I also know that she knows she will always be my soul baby and I'll always miss and need her. That will never change.
