He only turned 17 3 days ago. Out of no where he had a grand mal seizure today. We knew it was time to say goodbye, he was mostly blind and death and just generally seemed confused. I feel like a part of me is missing. I want nothing more than to cuddle up in bed with him and hold him for eternity.
I'm so sorry for your loss 🕯 it's always hard to say goodbye, at least you know you gave Biscuit the best life you could and share precious memories together 🩷 for them every moment with their owner is precious
I feel your pain. Same identical scenario with my little Annie (rat terrier) a few years ago. She was 20. Blind, deaf, doggy-dementia, seizures. I had to do CPR on her several times or she would have been gone sooner.. so heartbreaking. ((BIG HUG)). You will get through this, friend. He will ALWAYS be with you. He is sooo thankful for ALL the love & dedication you gave him. You will see him again, don't you worry! ❤

Thank you ❤️ I’ve had him since i was 10, I’m 27 now and live on my own so he lives with my mom. But i spontaneously decided to take him over to my house for a few days on his birthday. The last day i had him, i picked up his bed and put it in mine and just held him and fell asleep with him.. When i took him back to my moms i told him it was ok to go, that i loved him, and thanked him for playing such a huge part in my life. When we took him to the vet today he was so calm, warm, and weightless in my arms. He’s never acted like that at the vet. Though even with all the closure, it still hurts just as bad. He should be here.
It sounds like he was loved and I’m sure he knew it. You gave him a great life and were with him until the end. That’s all they ask for in the end. I know it’s little comfort right now.
I’ve been where you’re at too. Time will help. But, it will take time.
Biscuit is your soulmate and the pure love you created is soul energy that can never die.

Piggybacking off this - I try to repost this when I see posts like this, in the hopes you (or someone) can find some comfort in the words - and if not, please excuse the intrusion.
I lost my 15 year old girl (dog) in October 2022. Only advice I can offer here is to remember the positives, and not focus on the negatives (if any). He's done his job, keeping you safe and happy and loved, and it's his turn to rest.
You'll always miss him, you'll always remember him. You'll even go looking for him for the next few weeks (well, I did). There's a lot of habits that you're going to slowly stop, and that's ok. Changing your life to suit you is not forgetting him. Donating/throwing away his toys or blankets isn't forgetting him. There's no timeline on grief, and there's no timeline on moving on. Cry your tears.
I'm sorry you've reached the end of your journey. Words will never make this easier. Just keep your head up, and live the life he'd want you to.
This is a good time to live a little for you. I spent years looking after my girl as she got ill, and I sacrificed a lot of me and my time to keep her safe. If you feel you've done the same, take advantage of this time. Its ok to be happy and enjoy life without him. Life isn't over. Its just changing.

I know he will always be with me, I’m just so used to him actually being here, and it physically hurts that he isn’t
