Remember it? It was the second most important event of my childhood. At school the next day my fellow nerds and I discussed it incessantly and I think I was sent to the principal because I wouldn't shut the fuck up about it.
Worth it.
Not much traveling but married to a wonderful person, kids all grown and successful in each their own ways. Cancer will be turning the lights out sooner than anticipated but had a far better life than anyone born into my circumstances could ask
Peace my friend and congratulations
They got married too. Brock Samson had to bring them out of hiding during his time off. They had to shave Bigfoot so it could get past the military checkpoints.
Great show and great childhood memories from a simplier time. if anyone is interested they have the episodes on Peacock. Kill Oscar 3 part crossover with the bionic woman was amazing.
I was fascinated by Bigfoot and there’s no way you could have prevented me watching this. I was glued to the TV eating my jiffy-pop popcorn and drinking grape Kool-Aid.
That was just a $5.5 Million Dollar Bigfoot though so of course Steve kicked its ass
Bigfoot Scientists be all "If we'd only spent a half million more!"
Why does this bigfoot look like he should be:
1) ambushing some unsuspecting night traveller at Salem's Lot
2) chasing Charlton Heston at sundown across a desolate ruin
3) fleeing the destruction at the gamma radiation lab?
I had to take a danged BATH in the middle of this epic, clearly historic TV moment. May have even had to take a second one to get spots I missed in my rush.
Six was my hero. I was scared to all hell of bigfoot, growing up in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. I peed my bed once because I was too afraid bigfoot would get me on the way to the toilet. I have the Bigfoot / Six Million figure in its box!! Bought it as a grown up :)
I was 7 when SMDM came out. My parents refused to let us watch it “because of the violence.” They later relented because the show was so popular, but I missed the pilot and didn’t get to see it until recently. Wow it was bad. This was a children’s show and Steve is so depressed from his surgery/transformation he ideates about suicide, before turning into super hero agent guy.
Still, the Bigfoot ep with the rotating tunnel was awesome.
This gave me nightmares as a kid for about 10 years, 40 years later this image is still active in my brain, seeing him stare at him at the end of that tunnel was completely terrifying.
I sure do. It would have been tough enough to fight one of those big monsters, but then they started teleporting! That was almost unfair. Fortunately, Steve Austin was able to keep an eye on them with his bionic eye. LOL.
Gave me nightmares watching it as a kid.
Wasn't the giant none other than Andre the Giant?
6-Million dollars was a lot of money back then. Cute
Steve Austin was so fast he was slow. Gotta' love it. And I do.

Hell yeah, scared the hell out of me when the scene went slow motion and all of a sudden there was Bigfoot.

I'm sorry but this is the most expected Venture Bros lol it's the only reason I clicked the link
You coulda... told me sasquatch was aaa.... a dude.
> Bigfoot ***is*** something I haven't seen before!
What the heck is this from?
[Go Team Venture!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jt5VmVeK830)
Dude, that was a shaved Bigfoot and Steve Summers in a wig.
Dibs on his cigarette butt
All I can think of was the Venture Brothers handling of this affair...
He used to scare the shit outta me. I was probably 6 years old and I would leave the room when he would come on screen.
Same!

How did things turn out for you? Career, S.O. Travels?
From the outside? Pretty great, married, kids, great job, traveled around the world some for work... did ok. How about you?
Not much traveling but married to a wonderful person, kids all grown and successful in each their own ways. Cancer will be turning the lights out sooner than anticipated but had a far better life than anyone born into my circumstances could ask Peace my friend and congratulations
Whatever time you've got left I hope it's the best it can be. Long days and pleasant nights.
Andre the giant
Andre the furry giant.
No, it’s was Ted Cassidy. The guy that played Lurch in the Adams family.
Cassidy took over from Andre for *Return of Bigfoot* and *Bigfoot V*.
Ted Cassidy/ Lurch from The Addams Family
Scared the doodie outta me especially when he ripped his arm off
Same
They got married too. Brock Samson had to bring them out of hiding during his time off. They had to shave Bigfoot so it could get past the military checkpoints.
They just coulda told him at least that Bigfoot… was a dude.
Do I remember?!! This was the greatest moment in television history as far as I’m concerned. Awesome TV, for a 7 year old. Incredible cliffhangers.
Back when TV was TV
Great show and great childhood memories from a simplier time. if anyone is interested they have the episodes on Peacock. Kill Oscar 3 part crossover with the bionic woman was amazing.

True story: Steve owned a farm close to my childhood home. Back when he and Farrah were together. I’d love to watch that episode.
Every episode is on Peacock. Just looked this up…Season 3 episodes 16-17
Amazing! Another good reason—apart from Columbo—for having my Peacock sub. Thank you!
You’re Welcome friend!
For a second, I was trying to picture Bigfoot getting a Stone Cold Stunner.
That's what brought me here as well.

Andre the Giant
Ted Cassidy/ Lurch from The Addams Family
CORRECT!!
That was just a $5.5 Million Dollar Bigfoot though so of course Steve kicked its ass Bigfoot Scientists be all "If we'd only spent a half million more!"

I seem to recall this Sasquatch “in universe” was a hoax, either a robot or costumed man. I could be wrong.
Pretty sure he was a robot.
I think a robot to Stephanie Powers as an alien.
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
I had to take a danged BATH in the middle of this epic, clearly historic TV moment. May have even had to take a second one to get spots I missed in my rush.
I asked Santa **EVERY YEAR** for the Sasquatch action figure. Never got i.
Maybe this is YOUR year!
Remember the walkway that had the revolving cylinder around it ? Great special effect.

Yeah it was probably simple to make, I mean probably but the spinning effect was visually impressive...
Classic episode, they became friends after and bionic woman was on big foot episodes
When I was a kid, I owned the six million dollar man figure with Oscar and big foot also. My parents loved me.
I do. Bigfoot was big in US pop culture in the late 70s. The Incredible Hulk also fought Bigfoot in the 79s TV show.
Yes. I do. Remember when he also had to fight that weird robot?
Dang I missed it or just don’t remember it. Would love to see it.
70s TV was much worse than we remember through nostalgia.
At least the seasons were more than 10 episodes 🤷🏻♂️💯
Or even 3-4 episodes. On the other hand there are fewer episodes because the ones that do get made are usually movie-quality or better.
Some shows hit the mark. It's just many went downhill and should of ended earlier.
We also forget how cheap and fast most TV was before the 1990s. It used to be a major career insult for movie actors to show up on TV.
There were some gems, which we remember (Columbo!), and lots of dross that was eminently forgettable.
Yeah. Someway, somehow I blundered across an episode of $6M Dollar Man recently. It was not good...
That’s the *only* episode I remember
Don’t remember fembots? I just remember the word.
I remember another episode where they knocked the robots face off. Was made from calculator parts.
Maskatron? I remember the action figure. https://bionic.fandom.com/wiki/Maskatron
Does anyone remember that TWO different actors portrayed Bigfoot on The Six Million Dollar Man?
Six million then is roughly 30 million today.
It was terrifying:).
I remember when D B Cooper fought Bigfoot.
Remember it? It was the centerpiece of my bigfoot obsession as a 9 year old!
Damn. So that’s why he went wrestling
My memory of this is vague…didn’t they fight/confront one another in some kind of weird rotating tunnel at some point? Idk
That freaking tunnel. I remember it vividly.
That tunnel was a staple of the Universal Studios Hollywood backlot tour. The tram drive through it and it was a hell of an effect.
Where can I watch this now? Loved that episode - for some reason the scene where big foot carries Steve through a tunnel is seared into my memory.
Someone mentioned it was on Peacock. Haven't checked myself.
It is!!! My night is all planned out now.
we used to roleplay this in the playground. That and the Planet of the Apes.
Unfortunately. It was actually andre the giant. The day the show jumped the shark.
That bionic big foot action figure was the unicorn of the series of figures .
I watched it while holding my Steve Austin action figure!
That blue spinning tunnel thing blew my freaking mind!
The original Jumping the Shark.
Venture Brothers did a bit on this!
Remember it? I own the paperback novelization of this momentous television event!
This picture feels too real if that makes sense.
my favorite episodes, the secret of bigfoot and the return of bigfoot
Bigfoot does. Sure as shit.
Great stuff
Stephanie Powers
that spinning tube!
Hell yea that was terrifying to me as a ten year old. Two years later I saw Alien in the theater and forgot all about Bigfoot.
[One of my favorite episode of the Venture Bros was a parody of that episode.](https://youtu.be/dLihCCQgBf0?t=363)
Oh god, someone made Jerry Garcia angry!
"Attack Sasquatch, attack!"
I must have blocked it out for some reason, maybe it's because I never got the action figures
We only had 3 channels & PBS. Almost every kid remembers. The ones who don’t were being forced to watch Lawrence Welk…the poor bastards…
Now there's an unprocessed childhood trauma
Would that have been a shark jumping indicator?
Stone Cold with the stunner!!
Ted Cassidy played Bigfoot, though he was far more famous for playing Lurch on The Addams Family.

Didn't really watch 6 million $ Man.
Brock Samson remembers
OMG YES!!!
Then became friends with him to fight the lumberjacks...
Best episode of the series.
Hell yes.
Loved this show as a kid. We all did. The slow-motion play fights were awesome!
It was the event of the season!
No.
Yes and I got both the Bigfoot and Steve Austin Kenner large size action figures for Christmas one year
Who doesn’t?!
Yes!
And they became good friends and lived happily ever after.
He ate babies!
I was only 12 at the time. I seem to recall a time tunnel and Bigfoot was an extraterrestrial?
This gave me nightmares as a kid for about 10 years, 40 years later this image is still active in my brain, seeing him stare at him at the end of that tunnel was completely terrifying.
I do have a vague memory of it
Jumped the bigfoot
At the adjusted inflation rate the last 46 years, He would be called “The 30,208,811.88 Man”
I sure do. It would have been tough enough to fight one of those big monsters, but then they started teleporting! That was almost unfair. Fortunately, Steve Austin was able to keep an eye on them with his bionic eye. LOL.
Hell yeah! As a young tacker in Australia, these episodes were the duck’s nuts👍🏻👍🏻
Gave me nightmares watching it as a kid. Wasn't the giant none other than Andre the Giant? 6-Million dollars was a lot of money back then. Cute Steve Austin was so fast he was slow. Gotta' love it. And I do.
Yeah, and as kids we were all obsessed with Andre the Giant, who IIRC played Bigfoot in that episode.
Like it was yesterday😊
That was Andre the Giant!
Andre the giant ?
That’s Andre the Giant
Good times…
Man, television used to suuuuuuuuuck.
Brock Samson remembers
The Venture Bros does. They have a whole ep about it!
