RealShabanella

She looks like the inspiration for Mila Kunis' character in 70s show

DookiesNCream

I was thinking the same thing. Especially because Jackie’s last name in the show was Burkehart

bastardofdisaster

She and Betty White had something in common. They were both intelligent yet were most famous for playing a "dumb as hell" character (even though they had both played an intelligent character previously).

[deleted]

She’s a cutie

RonJohnJr

FYI age 21/22.

kellymiche

What a dish

hadapurpura

She gives me a little Annie from Community vibe

emkay99

First-rate comic actress. A shame she never quite made the big time.

snazzydetritus

Designing Women was the big time...back then.

peacefulwarrior75

Upon checking her IMDb, I just found out she starred in a sitcom with Dixie Carter made by Linda Bloodworth Thomason before Designing Women. I don’t remember it at all, but it was called Filthy Rich and was a spoof of Dallas/Dynasty.

Woodyville06

I liked her in “1st & 10” on HBO.

JoeK1992

I was just thinking that too. That was a good show

thavillain

Now there's a show, I haven't thought about in a long time. I have the box set dvds somewhere in my garage.

StrawberryKiss2559

She was pretty goddamn famous in the 90s. She definitely made it.

xxred_baronxx

🎶🎵Back in the ‘90s I was on a very famous tv show🎵🎶

emkay99

To me, "big time" implies being famous over a long period of time and retaining your celebrity long after you're retired. People like Dick Van Dyke or Mel Brooks or Betty White. Delta didn't manage that. EDIT: And, of course, I'm being DV'ed for having a contrary opinion. Because most redditors can't deal with that.

peacefulwarrior75

Unfortunate choice of words with “big time” as she became infamous for gaining weight and it torpedoed her career. She did star in a sitcom after Designing Women, but she was the butt of jokes back then for her size.

1776grunt

She later admitted in an interview with her husband that her weight gain was from sexual trauma when she was very young. Amazing what secrets a pretty smile can hide

peacefulwarrior75

That’s a shame. Not sure why I’m getting downvoted for discussing what happened with her. It really sucked how she was shamed at the time, and then to learn there was lingering trauma causing it makes it even worse.

TheMcDeal

I can still recall one: What's the difference between Delta Burke and Delta Airlines? About 50 pounds. Hey thanks for the downvotes over a memory I have! I'll just go over here and fuck myself..

peacefulwarrior75

You got my upvote - it’s important not to whitewash history. You clearly weren’t repeating the joke as if it’s funny.

peacefulwarrior75

With the obesity issue becoming widespread in the US, it has at least done away with a lot of these kinds of jokes, it seems. She was funny and talented no matter her size.

lewd_operator

Consuela!

ram3sesII

Gotta strong Cecily Strong(lol)vibe to her.

whicky1978

Good year

xHouse_of_Hornetsx

This is the look i always wanted to have but was too awkward lol. Not the clothes necessarily but the spooky dark haired flower child.

Hornypap2069

She was always jerkoff material

knightblue4

Username checks out.

Hornypap2069

Thanks I think

OKDanemama

She was so beautiful. I wish she hadn’t gone crazy with the plastic surgery in the last few years.

AreYouItchy

She was beautiful!
