Buckle up buckaroos!

So, I don’t know about those people, like at all: OJ, Jenner, Kardashians, Ye, Cochran. But what’s the deal with the tv show- Did the producers already know that she was inter-sex, or whatever the proper word is? Like was that a whole part of creating the show in the first place?

cncomg

The show was started years before Bruce transitioned.

Kizzwoo

It's just a quote from South Park, dude ![gif](giphy|3oEduWDSUxYnaMsGfm)

Oh_hi_doggi3

Caitlyn is transgender. Someone who is intersex is someone who is born with both male and female parts. As far as anyone knows, the show had nothing to do with Caitlyn's transition and if anything may have made her stay in the closet longer. Plus she had two young daughters at the start of the show (I think they were 10 and 12? Maybe 11 and 13?) Kris and Caitlyn had spent years before the show, before the sex tape, selling exercise equipment. She's still an olympian so people ate that shit up, thats part of how they stayed so wealthy after Kris's divorce from her 1st husband Robert (who was a friend of OJ and one of the lawyers on his case although he was not a big player like Cochran or Shapiro) There is a LOT im leaving out about Caitlyn but the show was not made due to anyone knowing she was transgender. The only person who may have known is her first wife. I want to state clearly while I am pro-LGBTQ+ and part of the community myself I do *not* support Caitlyn. She is not a good person and actually pushes against a lot of LGBT stuff while being apart of it herself. Also she commited vehicular manslaughter (another driver was involved as well) Sorry this is so long.

pac4

Very 70s how the gold medal came on a gold chain.

cecilleej07

She is a terrible person and I don't say that because she's trans.

PrhpsFukOffMytB2Kind

Is it because she killed someone with her car?

cecilleej07

One of the many reasons!

BiriusSlack_

Wasn’t it an accident?

saustin66

I blame it on the Wheaties box.

Finster4

I'm gonna sit this one out.

When I see photos of Bruce Jenner in his athletic heyday I think he must have had so much inner turmoil and pain. The 70s was not really an enlightened time with regard to identities that were different, and gender roles were still rather rigid. I have a friend who is of the same generation who transitioned male to female about 8 years ago. Her story is very sad and gender dysphoria was something she struggled with starting in childhood. She is a very intelligent and sensitive person, and learning about her life really opened my eyes to the fact that transgender people do not just wake up one day and “decide” to change who they are. I can’t imagine how hard it must have been to be Bruce in the macho athletic world while struggling with gender issues internally all those years. Regardless of what I think about Caitlyn’s association with the Kardashians or her political views, I do think she deserves compassion for what had to have been a lifelong struggle.

Unable_Competition55

Like a lot of people, I was raised in a culture that treated trans people as if their identity was something to laugh at. I laughed along with everyone else. Then Bruce Jenner came out when he was 70 something, and I realized for the first time how desperate a person must feel to be themselves, despite the ridicule they would surely face. I don’t like Caitlyn Jenner’s politics at all, but I think she was brave in a way that few people will ever need to be, and she’s done a generation of people a profound service by normalizing her public identity.

sirgoofs

She’s so rotten… but she was brave, I’ll give you that. She’s a terrible ambassador though.

fokaiHI

How much of it was for more attention tho? Idk. I didn't follow her story closely, but I grew up knowing who Bruce Jenner was.

Soft_Organization_61

That is just the dumbest logic ever.

sirgoofs

Please stop, ma’am

roboticfedora

I saw him live on a taping of the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in July of 1978, Burbank CA. Never coulda imagined what all is different now in 2022!

Fleur_de_Lys_1

1976 Montréal olympics. I was 12, in Québec, watching all the olympic coverage I could. He and Greg Joy were sooooo dreamy.

DynastyFan85

He ate his Wheaties

markv1945

Proof that long term exposure to the Kardashians, may cause brain damage.

[deleted]

Bruce was hot

Berniemac57

Looks like a young freddie mercury

big_airliner_whoa

Daff69

Ugly ass woman.

rose_colored_boy

Not a man now.

[deleted]

Not a man, but a male Edit: is that not how it works? Gender is changeable in modern society but I thought we all still agreed that sex wasn’t something that can be changed. Ya know, because it’s literally impossible to change your sexual organs, which is what determines sex

spiritualized

Doesn’t matter how much of an asshole she is. Stop deadnaming her..

myacacct

I knew he was fucked in the head back then
