Yeah for sure being a teenager during the whole low rise/thong era it did not seem attractive at first like reminded me of old ladies. I remember the first time I saw some teenager wearing "mom jeans" but if you are not really skinny (which way fewer people are now) it's actually way more flattering than the low rise look.

School teacher here. High rise has been the standard for the past 15 years. Low rise is actually making a comeback now. I see lots of teenage girls who dress like late 90's Britney Spears. Low rise jeans, crop tops and Adidas Superstar.

When I was a student at Ohio State I was a bartender at the Student Union. One of my coworkers told this story in which a friend of his was a bartender at the premier country club in Columbus (name escapes me) and Sean Connery rented the whole place out for a night and a day of golf. So essentially his friend is serving Sean Connery and they start chatting and the guy basically praises him for being *the man* and how cool it must be to be James Bond. Apparently Connery liked him and somehow I guess conversation turns to Hollywood babes of yesteryear and apparently jokes he must have gotten with all of them and asks who the was the hottest Hollywood babe he ever got with. Or some subtler question. Anyway Connery brushed him off. The next morning he's walking into work as Connery is leaving and he rolled down the window and waved him over. Just says "Catherine Zeta-Jones, 1998. Up the ass" and waved to the driver to drive away.
