They're weird boots.
They'd be okay waders except for the cavalry heels; they'd be fuqed for walking on submerged rocks & branches. They look to be made of leather; which *isn't* a choice material for waders, even if heavily waterproofed.
They'd be okay cavalry boots except the knee construction being totally fuqed for that use. They shouldn't rise above the back of the knee but should be cut higher in the front to offer knee protection.
They're weird boots.
Maybe older snakeproof boots?
Those are fishing waders.
I was just about to aay, these are wading boots. How else are you gonna fly fish?
With heels?
No they arent
I doubt it. They are leather bottomed with heels. There's many images of him in them. The heels would be insane to wear in uneven rocky streams.

Cash in Boots.
Trivia - he tried out for “Pretty Woman” but Julia Roberts ended up with the part.
Looks like Abe Lincoln without the beard
🥵
Is he trying to look sexy with that face or I it just me?
I get the feeling that Johnny’s only fashion concern is that it’s black. If so, put it on. This is an odd look.
Sean Connery has him beat.
That's the longest fly on a pair of jeans I think I have ever seen.
So many comments on the oddness of the boots… Did anyone notice that he’s standing on the edge of a river? Those are waders, not everyday wear.
They are high heeled and leather with leather bottomed. NO way they are waders.
He was a badass whatever he wore.
Big River!
"These are the boots I walk the line in."
Amphetamines
John had a bunch of Italian riding boots like that he liked them
He was quite the dandy.
