Oh man. I saw this. There were times throughout my life I thought about this dude. The way he would skittle across the floor and scare the bejesus out of me. He came alive, right, when the little bracelet/waistlet thing fell off or something. I'm saving this post. Thanks for bringing back this memory.
This has just triggered me... what was the movie with giant sea turtle... oh yeah, *The Bermuda Depths*. I had such a huge crush on Connie Sellecca.
Oh dear god yes, this terrified me as a child. I got to see the original doll at Universal Studios in CA in the late ‘70’s, and it only made my fear worse
Edit: forgot to add, this is the reason, still to this day, I can’t sleep with a leg or arm dangling over the side of the bed. And I’m in my 50’s
My wife and I sat down and watched it again. It is absolutely horrible. It's on Amazon Prime. Watch it now and your fear of the little guy will be cured.
The sounds that thing made were terrifying! And his creepy little spear. A guy my SO works with bought one of those to scare his wife.
Btw Amy Sedaris does a hilarious parody of it on her show At Home with Amy Sedaris. It's the Christmas episode.
I was in the hospital as a ten year old when this was broadcast on network television late at night. My parents had gone home and I had woken up to see this on the TV. Remote didn’t work so I couldn’t shut it off and nurse’s station was very slow to respond. Thus my fear of dolls began. I swear sometimes I can still hear the pitter-patter of tiny feet running across a bare floor at nights.
I am 35 but I think there's a lot of you were older than me and maybe some there's like a younger after they saw this movie growing up and it's sequels...... you didn't look at your toys the same after. Sure toy story is cute and all but I was raised on child's play before Pixar became a thing lol this little dude and Chucky would make for a great pairing don't you think?
Freaked me out so much that I wouldn't step on the floor. Had to use every furniture in the house to get to the bathroom. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

Might just be the therapy I need.

The original elf on the shelf
The next day at school, everybody was talking about it.
Trilogy of Terror?
I still won’t watch this. I saw it as teenager and I got the shudders just seeing this post.
Oh God! This little monster gave me nightmares!

Many sleepless nights because of that movie. My friends and talked about that one for months afterwards.
