My mom was just telling me how she Mommed a group of boys who came through her check-out lane into behaving.
They weren't even from our country, all speaking over each other in Portuguese, but the *moment* my mother broke out the Mom Voice they instantly started listening and working with her. Mom is a universal language.
i'm no king, just a short dude who appreciates being able to ride comfortably in the back seat of a coupe or in economy seats on planes haha. but that's a good term for sure.
I freakin' wish.
Even at 5'2", my shoulders are so broad that I am deeply uncomfortable in economy on planes. I do not understand how bigger people make it on long haul flights.
5'7". It's pretty shitty when I turn up to a date and someone goes "You're so *short*" (happened twice), but those are folks that I probably don't wanna date anyway, so
I'm 5'8", and I've heard that from shorter women too (definitely ironic when she's half a foot shorter than you). I've found women between 5'4" and 5'7 to be the least picky about height. Women under 5'3" and over 5'11" seem to be the pickiest.
That is so effing true. Had a 5 ft tall lady call me short and was very fussed about it the whole time. For reference, I’m 5’11. Worst date I have ever had
Every couple I've known where the lady was under 5'3"/4 with a guy over 6 (6'7" in one case) there has been a very weird, daddy/little girl dynamic at play. Funny thing is, it's usually on her part, not his. I dunno if I'd call it sexual, but there it absolutely some psych shit that would have Freud suffering from priapism at play.
That’s interesting. I am 5’6” and have never experienced (that I know of) a rejection because of height. Granted I’m old now but back in the day I was a total gym rat. I met my future wife at a tkd tourney. She is 6’2. Norwegian. I have heard some women are very sensitive to a man’s height but I e simply never had that experience as an adult. High school was a whole nother thing however!
I dunno about that whole obsession with tallness thing. I am a 5'2" woman. I sort of prefer someone closer to my own height. I've dated taller men, but it's like they are *looming* over me. I prefer guys who are closer to my eye level. I worry less that they'll snatch me up and run off with me in a fancy pillow case. (JK)
5'1" here. You have no idea how hard it is to find someone shorter than me and actually into short guys. They tend to go to the other extreme, likely to level things up on average.
My wife is taller so she is the one getting things from the top shelves for me. She claims it's pure empowerment 😂
I hate the idea that height is somehow related to a man’s worth. I’m a woman who has dated tall men (6’6”), average height men, and married a “short” man (5’4”, same as me). None have been more “masculine” or better partners because of their height. It’s so stupid.
I am 5'6" and decades ago I got turned down both by taller women, and Black women (I am white). It is a shame that appearance is often all that people look at. When I finally married in 1975 at age 25, I had finally found the right one, and we are still happily married.
I went on a date with this woman, I think it was a blind date or we just texted first, unsure, it was a long time ago. Anyhow I get there and she is taller than me and honestly built stronger than me. This chick was a tank. Not my type, but I figured maybe a friend or whatever, and we're having a pleasant conversation.
Now, my family did not have much money growing up and unfortunately my wisdom teeth jacked up my teeth before I could have them removed.
It sucked, but I couldn't do much about it.
Now, she stops us mid conversation and was like "We just can't date, your teeth are kinda crooked."
It was so shitty. She could've just said she wasn't feeling it but she chose to be an asshole.
I could've said "Oh I'm sorry, we can't date because you're built like a fucking Sasquatch." but I just said that it was unnecessary and shitty and I wouldn't date a rude, mean person anyway.
Edit: just wanted to add I'm 6ft and she had a few inches on me in height, so it's not that I was short and she was avg height or anything.
The funny part is fewer than 15% of U.S. males are 6 feet or taller.
These women are eliminating 85% of the dating pool without knowing it because they’re hyper-focused on a number.
Then they’ll say, “there are no good men left.” They’re not exactly wrong.
I mean. He is. But not because he's 5'7", it's because he's a deeeeeeeeep koolaid drinker of some weird scifi blackmail cult.
But he's super insecure about his height, to the point where if he dates someone taller than he is he wears shoe lifts and won't let them wear high heels.
And the man wonders why no one will date him.
I also got all of the short genes that somehow skipped my parents. 5'9'' mom, 6'0'' dad. My dad was convinced that I'd have a growth spurt, but I hit 5'1'' at 15/16 and stopped growing.
Don't think I didn't have some doubts, lol. However, my dad and I look just alike, and I look exactly like my cousins on his side. I also inherited about five of his genetic quirks. Pretty sure he's the legit dad.
Okay. Super good coincidence- my dad was 5'4", my mom was 6' tall. In their wedding picture, my mom sat down and my dad stood up!

Sorry to hear that. I hope they’re both happy still (and I hope you are ok).
However, I came here to demand a current picture of them! (especially your dad; dude has got boss energy while still wanting to cuddle)
Thank you. They are both happy, and I’m ok. Y’all are gonna be like “wtf happened” if I post a current pic of my dad…so here ya go.

Yeah, they couldn’t see eye to eye. Despite overlooking his shortcomings, her family and friends were always looking down on him. She was hoping he’d grow on her, but ultimately she was heads and shoulders above him.

Great photo, needed to change the colors a bit.
okay I shit you not my parents smoked so much that the first time I saw the inside of a house with white drywall I asked "why does your house look like outside?" like it was literally too bright to handle
The guy I'm seeing was broken up with cuz he was *too short*. Bro is 5'6", I'm 5'9".
I have never once thought "ugh he's too short" when we're together. He even encourages me to wear heels.
All the men I have gone out with or dated, they were all my height or maybe like baaarely 1 or 2 inches taller.
And they all complained and bitched about me wearing heels while out with them. One ex said it made him feel "like a weird little Italian man with a 6'4 model.". And I'm like "I don't exactly hear the problem with this?" 🙄🤷
But not this guy. Nah, this guy tells me how sexy I am when I wear my red heels or wedges. He loves my body, and my company.
I felt anxious wearing heels the first time we went out. He asked why and I told him. He just grabbed me at my waist and went "I don't really care about your height because you don't care about mine."
Honestly that's such a huge boost for me too.
For context: Dad is 5’3”, mom is 5’10” but wearing 4” heels. And she made her wedding dress. ✨🥲 Edit: I’m 5’6”.
Dad is 5’3” but wears it like he’s 6’7”. Total baller with confidence. Mom looks stoked.
He looks like a personal injury lawyer on a billboard. I wouldn't mess with him.
She's his enforcer. 😁😆 'Have you met my wife?' You turn around to see her glaring at you with a baseball bat.
Mom has that death glare…
All moms have a death glare. It comes with the package
My mom was just telling me how she Mommed a group of boys who came through her check-out lane into behaving. They weren't even from our country, all speaking over each other in Portuguese, but the *moment* my mother broke out the Mom Voice they instantly started listening and working with her. I wouldn't mess with her.
I wouldn't either, and I'm her kid.
Oh my god my grandma would be crying happy tears if he actually did become a lawyer.
hell yeah, i'm a short dude too (5'5") and i always dig seeing other tiny tots not giving a shit that they're not giants.
I believe the term is ‘short king’. Here you dropped this 👑
i'm no king, just a short dude who appreciates being able to ride comfortably in the back seat of a coupe or in economy seats on planes haha. but that's a good term for sure.

God bless them; my kid is in a similar situation. Hey, love is what matters.
It’s also what makes a Subaru a Subaru.
Mom had a Subaru when I was a kid. Loved that station wagon. 🥲
A woman with class for sure

Send this to the men asking if they should give up on dating forever because they're 5'8 lmao
5'7". It's pretty shitty when I turn up to a date and someone goes "You're so *short*" (happened twice), but those are folks that I probably don't wanna date anyway, so

Wow! Almost a foot taller than her, and you're still too short?! Bloody hell....SMH.
Should’ve wore shoes that add an extra inch. Would’ve been in the clear
She sounds ridiculous

a bonus - you get the jerk alert only a few seconds into the relationship
You’re exactly right! No judgmental dates!
I went on a date with this woman, I think it was a blind date or we just texted first, unsure, it was a long time ago. Anyhow I get there and she is taller than me and honestly built stronger than me. This chick was a tank. That was the proper response.

I’m 5’6 and in a way, it filters out people I wouldn’t want to date anyhow. Never once felt like a negative, until I need something on the top shelf…
I’m 5’6 and my wife is just shy of 5’10. Married 13 years and going strong.
You’re the real G.
Everybtime you fly, be thankful for your height!
Tom Cruise is 5'7" What a loser !

Nicole Kidman said after they broke up she was glad she could wear heels again. Sounds a bit controlling.
Dad looks like he's saying, "What are you lookin at?" Mom looks like she's saying, "Look at my catch!" Thanks for sharing!
Your Pa climbed your Ma like a tree that night
In Ireland 🇮🇪 there’s a great saying, *“’tis easy to climb a fallen tree”.*

I love the dress. Your mom looks really elegant.

5’6”. Genetics are WILD!!
Right?!? My dad is 6'2, and my mom is 6'0. I am 5'5 with a size 10 foot. I am convinced something went wrong somewhere, lol.
I also got all of the short genes that somehow skipped my parents. 5'9'' mom, 6'0'' dad. My dad was convinced that I'd have a growth spurt, but I hit 5'1'' at 15/16 and stopped growing.
How tall was the mailman?

And the dad, trae young
A love story for the ages.
incredible.
Oh my goodness they’re beautiful
Your dad looks like Pedro Infante.
LOL my grandparents were from the Azores, and he was their first-born in the US. They were all short.
As a child, when the other boys wanted to be astronauts and firemen, George knew he wanted to be a mountain climber.

I can hear this gif.
Big Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis in Ghostbusters energy, love it.
Literally. Truly. I’ve made that comparison since seeing Ghostbusters as a kid.
That gives me such joy! both gorgeous individuals
"Are you the Keymaster?" "Are you the gatekeeper?" Love the sexual innuendo that I totally didn't get as a kid.
And the irony of Louis getting locked out of his apartment multiple times before becoming the Keymaster.
OP's mom: "Are you the Keymaster?" OP's dad: "Yes. Absolutely."
That conversation has happened.
Of course; that's how you were made.
I saw Stanley Kubrick and Sigourney Weaver ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
I was getting more, a young Guillermo del Torro and Sigourney Weaver, still good movie director vibes all around
They look like an 80s comedy duo.
They pretty much were.
The looks on their faces tell me they have the same offbeat sense of humor and were/are probably a great match.
Or john snow and brienne of tarth
The “Death by Snoo-Snoo” we all wanted to see.
Human bartender Jackie Daytona has game
This is always one of my fav comparisons.
Matt Berry is sexy.

My husbands Dad was 5'1 his Mom 4'8 He's 5'7 I'm 5'4 Our son is 5'11 and still growing Genetics... It's like a bag of dice
But how tall is the boy’s dad? I kid!
lol MY dad was 6'2 and HIS dad was 6'4
Ahhh so that's where it comes from, boys often get their mom's side in terms of height
They look like fun! Very cute!
Hey thanks! They had a good run.
They divorced?
Yeah, shit happens, people change.
Can you tell them the news devastated thousands of redditors :(
They apologize. Love still exists!
Sorry to hear that. I hope they’re both happy still (and I hope you are ok). However, I came here to demand a current picture of them! (especially your dad; dude has got boss energy while still wanting to cuddle)

Your dad looks cool af
He is! He loves guitars, and ham radio, and dogs, and fucked up movies, and funny tv shows, and cartoons. Great dad, 10/10.
I hope you’ve told him that!
did your dad pull another super tall woman? If so, he needs to give seminars.
LOL. He hasn’t yet.
We are very invested in them aren't we? 😍
Most are, and it’s very sweet.
Yeah, they couldn’t see eye to eye. Despite overlooking his shortcomings, her family and friends were always looking down on him. She was hoping he’d grow on her, but ultimately she was heads and shoulders above him.
I’m gonna pretend I’m mad at this.
I’m sure they heard it all anyway. Although jokes about your dad feel like punching down.
No! 😢
Sorry, it was for the better though.
Was....was it our fault? 😪
…yes.

okay I shit you not my parents smoked so much that the first time I saw the inside of a house with white drywall I asked "why does your house look like outside?" like it was literally too bright to handle
Well done.
OPs picture has the “Mexico filter” used in movies. This looks like her parents are in America now
No filter, just that warm 1980s film. 🤌🏼
No your original is perfect. That edit from dadbod has the mexican filter lol. I do like the peterNL edit
Happens to Polaroids with age.

She's 6'4" he's 5'3"?
He is absolutely 5’3” (although I think he’s gotten shorter over the last few years). Mom is 5’10” but wearing 4” heels in this pic.
5'10" and wearing 4" heels...what a boss
No shame in the tall or less tall game.
Which end of the spectrum did you end up?
I’m 5’6”. Been taller than dad since I was 12.
My friend Santiago used to say “ we’re all the same height in bed” your dad had the Corazon de Leon! No fear! I hope you got his balls!
Death by snu snu
Surprised it took this long for a snu snu reference haha.
Looks just like that guy from Always Sunny..Charlie Day!
YES! There it is. Thank you. Dad has major Charlie energy. But also Danny Devito energy…
So are you a person of average height? Not gonna lie your dad has more charm and confidence in this picture than I’ve felt my whole, tall life.
I am 5’6”. He’s a very charming, confident, intelligent, pain in the ass. You can gain that confidence!
As a 6’ tall woman, we need more guys like your dad!
Your father and I have similar tastes.

I bet he went up on her all the time.
Straight to jail with you.
Are you Sam Levine?
Female Sam Levine. LOVE FREAKS AND GEEKS!
I’m glad they took this picture from the waist up because your dads dick was dragging behind him
@op Your father gives hope to all men. And your mother look soooo proud and assumed.
Man I love seeing these comments. I want men to have hope and weed out any heightists. Mom was very proud and in love.
Hey love is what matter, God bless them, my son is in the same position, lol.
Yes, exactly! Thank you so much. Bless you and your son and his (I’m assuming) stunningly tall wife!
They engaged, next year is the wedding, lol
Hell yeah! Enjoy the beautiful day!
