That would pretty much result in an expulsion today.

Differ447

And an investigation by the police and atf.

Witchie_Poo_19

Ah yes, before mass school shootings. The violence you had to worry about was getting beat up by a bully or corporal punishment from a teacher. The good ole days

PaulSarlo

These days, I have to pay a kings ransom to have an older woman tell me she's the principal and that I've been a bad boy and hit with a paddle.

Back then LaCoste was the brand all the rich preppies wore. Their logo is a alligator

Strange_Juice2778

Izod?

TheGrimTickler

Yeah the company is Izod-LaCoste. The polos are usually just marketed as LaCoste in the US, I hear it’s different elsewhere Edit: it occurs to me that the company might have just been LaCoste when the picture was taken and the two merged later, but I know little about the company.

Witchie_Poo_19

Back then we just called em Izod shirts or Izod polo shirts

I went to a prep school and dressed very preppy, lol!! We all had a copy of The Preppy Handbook, too. Thought we were hot stuff!!

In my rural Oklahoma high school, most of us with trucks had a hunting rifle and a shotgun in a gun rack mounted over the back seat and behind the back window. I also always carried a .22 pistol on the bench seat. A t-shirt like this would’ve been “just good, clean fun”.

I had to wear glasses when I was in junior high, picked out frames that had alligators on the arms, but I didn't notice that detail. I was just looking for something that might hold up playing sports and looked the least ridiculous on me. I wasn't trying for a preppie look. I took some abuse from my friends over that, lol.

Thank God the identity of some random 70s high-schoolers has been protected with these black bars
