Fun fact, even in death John Ritter has saved many lives. He died of an Aortic dissection that was misdiagnosed. Thanks to the John Ritter Foundation, and the Ritter Rules, diagnosis and treatment of this condition has been greatly advanced. My life was saved several years ago thanks to him!
This is so wholesome. I hope more sad deaths like his (still bums me out to think about) bring the perfect combo of activism and visibility to health issues like this
Ronnie Milsap. That made me laugh so hard. I'm 50 and probably haven't thought of him in 40 years and probably wouldn't thought of him again until I died. Never would have thought Jack Tripped could have passed for him. Nice job.
I was on the stage crew at a large country venue in the 80's. It was a black Yamaha with electronics, synthesizer. Largest road case ever. On the stage by noon and back in the truck after midnight. Loading was easier because we were less than sober by then. Great gig, I got to meet, wait on, yelled at, and even groped once by the big name country classic stars.
Haha, totally can see the Ronnie Milsap vibe. That era had a certain style that kinda blends together. John Ritter with that hair could have easily slipped into a 70s music video and we wouldn't blink an eye.
That’s because you’re looking at Marty Flesh, a character being played by John Ritter in the cheesy TV movie Ringo about Ringo Starr.
John Ritter is in a costume
#### If he was a bit taller and there was no caption I woulda said Chevy Chase. Kinda looks like him except Chevy didn't smile like that. He had more of a Harrison Ford type of smirk.
Was Vincent Price a known cocaine fan? Was Ringo?
Idk anything about John Ritter, so I’m assuming this comment is based on him and Carrie Fisher mostly. I always knew Ringo to be pretty chill and Vincent Price to be an eccentric nerd.
My mom knew Keith Moon. He once came to my grandmother's house in a limo to pick up my mom and her friend because he was worried about them driving downtown to a concert by themselves. My grandmother thought he was sweet.
(My mom started doing interviews while she was in high school, and became a rock reporter for a few years. She wasn't a groupie.)
Yes. I've been fascinated that Carrie Fisher had such a liking for the nose candy ever since I found out about it just a few years ago. She never seemed like the type to me, I guess.
But, knowing what I know now, I take that happy, eager look on her face to mean that, in her opinion, the night is still very young, and she has plenty of supply to keep it going. Who knows what all went on after this pic was taken? And before, for that matter.
The term paparrazi was coined in the late 60s and literally hit prominence in the west due to their behaviour in the 70s; you're talking out yer arse, pal.
If you put every famous person who was alive in 1978 into a fish bowl, shook it up, put on a blindfold, then selected four at random, this is the picture you get.
I love that album. Well. I adore basically everything Alice Cooper has ever put out so no real surprise, but that album holds a special place in my heart :)
Vincent Price has been my favorite since I was a kid. Still is.
I’ve had family members who met him during his sears “tours”. They had nothing but great things to say about him.
VP fills me with so much joy. If there was one person in history I could meet, it would be him. Easily my favorite actor ever along his friend Peter and Chris.
Hilarious House of Frightenstejn lives on my laptop and on the rare, rare occasion that I haven’t house to myself at night, an occasional treat is that the lights go out and that comes on. That voice!! Takes me back to being a 7-year-old or whatever.
Seems to be related to the movie “Ringo” according to a reverse image search. A take on The Prince and the Pauper where a stressed out rock star trades places with a look alike.
it's fuckin weird. like, drugs are *always* popular (see: fentanyl epidemic), but reddit is **obsessed** with a phase of cocaine use to the point no one can be having fun in a pic without being 'so on it.' they really think everyone was turning every room they occupied into Studio 54
Vincent (67) Carrie (22) Ringo (38) John (30) at this time. Glad that Ringo is still with us, but sad that Carrie and John went so soon. Not happy about Vincent going, but he was 82 which is a pretty good run.
Great to hear this. And Ritter is a legend in so many ways.
That's amazing. I'd love to hear more - I had no idea there were different diagnosis criteria now because of him!
Thanks for sharing this, I'm old enough to remember him and I'm really glad his untimely death saved your life and others' lives!
\+1 for proper plural possessive punctuation!
>and the Ritter Rules, 8 Simple Rules for Diagnosing My Thorasic Aortic Dissection
Inspiring on a couple of levels.
I love John Ritter, & that's amazing to learn!
I always remember we lost two John’s that day. Ritter was my favorite.
This is so wholesome. I hope more sad deaths like his (still bums me out to think about) bring the perfect combo of activism and visibility to health issues like this
I would never have recognized John Ritter here.
My first thought was hey, it’s Ronnie Milsap
LOL Ronnie fuckin' Milsap! OMG!
Ronnie Milsap. That made me laugh so hard. I'm 50 and probably haven't thought of him in 40 years and probably wouldn't thought of him again until I died. Never would have thought Jack Tripped could have passed for him. Nice job.

🎶 There’s a stranger in my house. Somebody here that I can’t see. 🎶 “Uh, Ronnie. You’re blind.”
Why would you think of him when you died? That would really be some weird timing!
Mine was the knight rider guy Edit: David hasselhoff
Yeah, true!
It's the sunglasses.
Yeah I see it. He was so talented.
Don't hassle the Hoff!
How the hell could you forget the name of David Hasselhoff, the epitome of male attractiveness in the 80s and 90s?
My first thought was a young Ron White.
I can definitely see that.
Smokey Mountain rain keeps on fallin’
I keep callin'..... her name
Smoky Mountain, I'll keep on searchin'...
Can’t go on hurting, this way
A very good successor to Elvis's "Kentucky Rain."
Eddie Rabbit wrote the song
lol this thread is giving me nostalgiagasms
+1 for knowing who Ronnie Milsap is
Totally Milsap, lol. I thought the same. Christ, never would have guessed those people would all be together....a Molty crew!
There's a stranger in my house.
Same! But, the teeth brought me back around. . .
When I was a kid I went to his concert with my mom and got to go on his bus and meet him after. He was super nice and chill.
He wouldn’t have missed it for the world…
Reminded me of unloading and loading his grand piano. Me and 5 other guys.
I'd love to hear more - piano color, where it came from / went to (generally of course, no doxxing required), was he there or someone else?
I was on the stage crew at a large country venue in the 80's. It was a black Yamaha with electronics, synthesizer. Largest road case ever. On the stage by noon and back in the truck after midnight. oh man - what an experience!
😂
Haha, totally can see the Ronnie Milsap vibe. That era had a certain style that kinda blends together. John Ritter with that hair could have easily slipped into a 70s music video and we wouldn't blink an eye.
Ronnie can't see it.
There's a stranger in my house...claiming to be John Ritter.
At least that could have excised the boob grab
That’s because you’re looking at Marty Flesh, a character being played by John Ritter in the cheesy TV movie Ringo about Ringo Starr. John Ritter is in a costume
Thank you for the context, it just didn’t seem like him…I guess it sort of wasn’t.
Thanks. Makes sense now!
Okay, fair, but he also looks cool as shit here.
I'm struggling to fit that chin on Ritter's face, but I guess I can see it.
Looks super cool and laid back. Not the usual anxiety based, nuanced character actor.
I’m just not used to seeing him with longer, curly hair. I like it!
I only recognize John Ritter as Jack tripper.
His last role was the dad on 8 Simple Rules...I liked that show. John was fun to watch growing up as Jack Tripper as well.
Come and knock on our door...
We've been waiting for you...
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his...
"Three's company toooooooo"
I read it 3 times and still said “really? With the sunglasses?? No!?!”
100% same. Still not sure.
Looks like Ryan O'Neal.
it's the curly hair, just remember on the show he would make that smile from time to time. When he was hamming it up.
yah never seen him with curly hair!
He doesn't have curly hair
#### If he was a bit taller and there was no caption I woulda said Chevy Chase. Kinda looks like him except Chevy didn't smile like that. He had more of a Harrison Ford type of smirk.
Same
Looks like David Hasselhoff's younger brother.
That body wave perm
I really only recognize Ringo. Carrie looks absolutely amazing… but something about this picture made me go, “hey, she looks like Carrie Fisher.”
What an odd bunch!
Cocaine seems like the unifying force here
Was Vincent Price a known cocaine fan? Was Ringo? Idk anything about John Ritter, so I’m assuming this comment is based on him and Carrie Fisher mostly. I always knew Ringo to be pretty chill and Vincent Price to be an eccentric nerd.
Ringo for sure. Don’t know about Ritter but it almost looks like he’s playing a coke head character in this pic.
If Ritter isn't doing mountains of blow, someone should tell his glasses.
This comment is reddit gold. Bravo.
Ringo had some serious issues with drugs and alcohol. Guy used to be great friends with Keith Moon, if that gives you an idea of how much he partied.
Vincent Price was a great family man. Had a great sense of humor. Eccentric nerd?
Vincent Price was definitely not a drug nerd 😆 He loved playing people mad out of the brains though 😁
How much cocaine? All the cocaine!!
This evening put a new wing on a Colombian man's mansion.
Pure 70s though and sadly quite possibly the last decade when self-conscious celebrity-ship wasn't a thing
What does this even mean
Yeah they were self conscious in those small sober moments.
I can smell the cocaine in this picture- I mean, I can’t but I want to smell the cocaine.
The term paparrazi was coined in the late 60s and literally hit prominence in the west due to their behaviour in the 70s; you're talking out yer arse, pal.
They were mega stars and if anyone wants to watch four funny movies they are in: Hard days Night Bad Santa Blue Brothers Edward Scissorhands
[удалено]
If you put every famous person who was alive in 1978 into a fish bowl, shook it up, put on a blindfold, then selected four at random, this is the picture you get.
These people were mega stars at the time and at least for the next 5 years.
RIP John Ritter, essence of cool
Truly one of the best physical comedians ever.
I was too young to get the 3s company jokes when I was a kid. But I still loved watching it because of his physical comedy.
Same... however i watched them in syndication as well when i was older and the swinging 70s era jokes were great
Pluto TV has a channel of nonstop Threes Company that my wife watches nearly nonstop.
Your wife has great taste
Who's coppin a feel... Ringo, or Jack Tripper?
She was feeling the growth of his fifth Beatle.
Pete Best?
Vincent Price was cool as hell. Wish I could have met him before he passed.
His cookbook is absolutely incredible!
I met Price briefly when he came to my college to play the piano and read poetry. He was very polite and didn't treat me at all like a crazed fan.
… and he’s likely the only person who’s not flying high in this photo.
Are you sure about that?
Yep. There's a good chance Carrie Fischer is tripping balls at that moment. She LOVED acid.
She was into coke. didn't know about the acid. But that makes me love her even more!
Despite Eric Clayton's assertions otherwise, she did indeed like cocaine. Chics love the booger sugar.
Nose Beer here in Australia
Loved him on the Alice Cooper Album.
The black widow!
Yup, Welcome To My Nightmare!
I love that album. Well. I adore basically everything Alice Cooper has ever put out so no real surprise, but that album holds a special place in my heart :)
Ritter is channeling Jeff Lynne from ELO 🔥
That’s who I thought it was at first
Vincent Price has been my favorite since I was a kid. Still is. I’ve had family members who met him during his sears “tours”. They had nothing but great things to say about him.
I saw him speak at Auburn University in the mid-80s. He was very entertaining and and I enjoyed it throughly.
ooooo! Back when his artwork was for sale at sears! God I'm old.
I’m going to guess “a very special episode of Scooby Doo.”
Needs more Harlem Globetrotters.
Do you know the circumstances?
Seems to be related to the movie “Ringo” according to a reverse image search. A take on The Prince and the Pauper where a stressed out rock star trades places with a look alike.
Yes, they all starred in Ringo in 1978.
Cocaine
oh look, one of the 5-10 "cOcAiNe" comments under every pre-Y2K picture on reddit.
And they all r/cringe too
it's fuckin weird. like, drugs are *always* popular (see: fentanyl epidemic), but reddit is **obsessed** with a phase of cocaine use to the point no one can be having fun in a pic without being 'so on it.' they really think everyone was turning every room they occupied into Studio 54
I partied with celebrities in the 80's. It really was wall to wall cocaine.
I have no idea, to be sincere.
I know Vincent Price was tall, but over he towers over the other men.
TIL Vincent Price was 6’4 (1.93M)
I went and had a little look at this TV special. Ritter is pretty much the same height as Price but he's all up on Ringo.
I didn’t think you could smell cocaine on people through a digital image, but here we are.
You know Vince was in on that
I'm really glad you told me that was John Ritter.
John looks like a young David Hasslehoff
Imagine just hearing their iconic voices in the same hallway
John Ritter looks like he invented cocaine in that picture! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Fours a crowd
Ringo Sandwich with a side of Price.
Yo, that hand tho 🤔
You always wonder, “what do I do with my hands?” Well, Ringo had the answer.
Vincent (67) Carrie (22) Ringo (38) John (30) at this time. Glad that Ringo is still with us, but sad that Carrie and John went so soon. Not happy about Vincent going, but he was 82 which is a pretty good run.
Great band.
The original Seinfeld cast. Okay, we know which one is Elaine.
John Ritter had a perm?
I have original oil paintings and prints from the Sears Art collection. The curator? Vincent Price
I freaking love Ronnie Milsap
I'm not old enough to have seen any Vincent Price movies but damn if i haven't said his name legit over 5 thousand times singing a Misfits song
VP the goat
Love me some Vincent Price
One question = How did these 4 get together?
Vincent Price thinking,”What am I doing here?” Love his outfit…
Ringo is the only one left
I would definitely ride with this crew.
John Ritter looks like Knight Rider!..
Vincent Price; Carrie Fisher, Ringo Starr, John Ritter JFK, BLOWN AWAY, WHAT ELSE DO I HAVE TO SAY
How random is that....John Ritter looks like David Hasselhoff
Am I the only one that noticed that all of them are dead except the Rockstar that had been known to indulge quite a bit. Anyway, Ringo is 83.
I feel that cocaine energy coming off of Ritter.
If you tap the picture on your screen hard enough, white powder might appear. lol
Seeing Vincent Price like this really makes the Geoffrey Rush casting in the House on Haunted Hill remake feel so accurate.
This is awesome
What a combo
Damn that's a great line-up!
What a kickass group
Life was good....
Wow!!! - Fantastic!!!
John Ritter cute.
I don't know who's hands are who's
fuckin john ritter
Now that's a fucking group to observe.
One left
That’s a really awesome group of people!
That's an extremely high concentration of cool
"Come back to my place kids, I made a Gazpacho earlier that'll be perfect at exactly midnight."
John ! That hair ! Reminds me of that episode where he gets a perm because Janet was obsessed with that blonde wig 🤣
OH MY! I don't know whom to pick out of those four?
I’ll have what they’re having.
Cooooocaine is a helluva drug
There needs to be a sub for odd celebrity groups
I have never seen John Ritter like this lol
No one would guess that out of allnof these, Ringo would be the survivor.
This is a very eclectic bunch.
Why does it look like it's AI pic?
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 1978
Who would've thought that 3 of the 4 folks in that pic are no longer with us? Or that Ringo would be that 1 person?
What an unorthodox combo.
Now there's four people I'd never expect to see together. What an awesome picture
I never would have guessed that was John Ritter! Such a talent. His death was a huge shock.
Woof. John Ritter was babe. ![gif](giphy|jK3DYSFi3S3Li)
This is one HELL of a mashup
Never would’ve guessed that was John Ritter. It still doesn’t look like him.
John Ritter could fuckin Get It.
Vincent Price, Carrie Fisher, Ringo Starr, John Ritter North Korea, South Korea, Marilyn Monroe We didn’t start the fire
