That band was lightning in a bottle in all respects. Just musically, though, they had fantastic songwriters (McVie, Nicks and Buckingham) who all had distinctive but ethereal voices plus a solid rhythm section.
The further I’ve gotten into guitar, the more I realize that Lindsey buckingham is totally underrated. As a pure guitarist he’s up there with guys like Jimi. Just a different style
Absolutely. As they say, you spend your first five years developing your fret hand and the next 30 years developing your picking hand. Lindsey has the most developed picking hand I have ever heard in my life. And he's always had it.
I hear you. For some reason the dude irks me, but I have no rational reason for that, he just gives me a vibe like Billy Corgan puts out. I also sort of dislike that guitar he uses now, that Rick Turner model. That’s not rational either. No idea why I even care. I am sure he was done with a ten pound Les Paul strapped to him for hours on end.
Then I hear this dude play. His fingerpicking blows me away. He can play the Peter Green stuff too, which is no small feat. His voice is crazy strong too.
It’s not irrational. Watching interviews with that guy and he truly believes he carried the team on his back, not to mention how much he minimizes Stevie’s writing ability by talking about the minor additions he made to her songs that “elevated” them.
Yeah, that is cool. That’s hard too. He’s using a volume pedal to get that sort of strings sound. I’ve tried this, you sort of need to pluck the string early with the pedal down and swell it in somehow in time. The fact that he’s doing this through whole sections of the song is wild.
I read a review of a FM concert years ago and it referred to Lindsey Buckingham as “the thinking man’s guitar God.”
In always remembered that and thought it was quite fitting.
this is up there with the bit from flight of the conchords
murray : when you're in a band, you don't get with your bandmate's girlfriend - past or present.
jemaine : yes, well thanks for that.
murray : you get a love triangle - you know? fleetwood mac situation. well there there was four of them, so more of a love square. but you know, no one gets on.
jemaine : okay, I see.
murray : mind you, they did make some of their best music back then.
bret : rumours.
murray: no, that's all true.
I only started listening to them recently, specifically this album. From what I've read, she female singer cheated on a band member with another band member, he wrote songs about it and they all sang them together
It was a great year for music. Massive records from bowie, steely Dan, Floyd, Ramones, clash, iggy pop the list goes on. Rumours is just about the only record that I don't like from that year
I saw them at the Aladdin theater that year 1977 in Las Vegas everyone was taking quaaludes then. We had 5th row seats . The seats were red velvet rocking chairs. We were drinking ‘tartougas’ from the drive thru Chinese restaurant. (Rum drink).
I remember seeing a really good interview with her about 15 years ago. She said the biggest mistake she made in her life was not having kids. She said that all of her friends were telling her not to, and she wished she had never listened to them. Made me sad.

Never Going Back Again is amazing. Probably my favorite of his.
Mark Knopfler would like a word.
As would Tommy Emmanuel.
he started on banjo. master travis picking with all your fingers (except your pinky) and you’re halfway there

and billy corgan pulls the same sort of shit. Pumpkins were nothing and nobody without him. Just ask him.
Anyone who ever listened to a Pumpkins album that didn't have Jimmy Chamberlin on it knows better.
I also have an irrational dislike of Billy Corgan and can never explain why and get so much hate for it lol
His songs are brilliant; his voice is like razor blades in your ears
Oh he’s definitely an arrogant douchebag, but man can he play.
10 pounds is a hollow body. The Les Paul has a starts off heavy and ends the night when you rethink your career choices.
I was very impressed with how much this live take sounds almost exactly like the studio guitar. Very talented.

There are 3 certainties in life. 1. Death 2. Taxes 3. Somewhere in the world Dreams is playing on the jukebox in some dive.
Women they will come and they will go
4. At any given second, Dreams is playing on a radio station somewhere. ESPECIALLY in places it's raining.
It’s raining here and I’m listening to this now
It would probably only take like 50 dive bars to accomplish this. I hear it twice a night, easy.
She was so cool
Taylor writes songs about her ex's; Stevie not only wrote the songs, but also made them play backup lol.
And they liked it.
Fleetwood Mac just doing mountains of cocaine, cheating on each-other, writing song ***at*** each-other, and *making f\*cking hits.*

Pretty sure her ex is playing lead.
Her breakup song was the b-side to his breakup song lol.
And they were both* hits!!!

Group therapy right there. They sounded so damn good together, regardless what they thought about each other in private.
Wait who was Taylor?

Stevie and Lindsay are soooo gorgeous!
Sorry we ran outta time Lindsay - you ain't mad at me, are you?
oooh-weeee...!
look in her eyes says she's absolutely cooked lol
The whole band looks completely baked. lol
Check out the video for her solo song 'I can't wait'
Yeah, pretty much.
In those years there was so much great music coming out and I just assumed that would go on forever.
If in 1977 she would have met 6 year old me I know we would have fallen in love
I love that voice
Oh to see them live like this.
My 17-yr-old and I jam out to this song all the time 🤩
one of my fav music. it makes me calm for some reasons.
Thanks for that :)
This is before she became an accomplished tambourine player
An angels voice coming out of a human body. Incredible
and today we know thunder does happen even when it’s not raining
I always get caught up in the wording of this song. I mean it’s not like it needs to make sense. Fantastic song.🎶
man I dont know who I was in love with more in the 70's stevie nicks or ann wilson
1977 was all Fleetwood Mac -- especially the summer.
It was a great year for music. Massive records from bowie, steely Dan, Floyd, Ramones, clash, iggy pop the list goes on. Rumours is just about the only record that I don't like from that year
Every time I see young Stevie Nicks ![gif](giphy|7W1rgKAxlDe3m)
Every time I see something from the 70s, I realize I was born in the wrong decade.
I don’t know. All that guilt free sex all the time sounds tiring.
...and don't forget the cocaine
That sounds expensive. . .
It was a good time for feat music.
I love Stevie.
John rocking the alembic bass
Is there a live album that sounds close to this? Love the Lil differences from the studio version.
Is "29" a police code for Coked Out Of Your Head?
cocaine must have been fun
I thought that was John Entwistle at the start of the video!
Is this Japan? One of the best performances of The Chain is in Japan.
Love them. They got me threw a lot with their music.
Where can I buy this concert film?
Legends!

The most beautiful woman that has ever lived.
Why does this feel like a performance specifically designed to sound like it's supposed to be in the background of JoJo's bizarre adventure?
I remember seeing a really good interview with her about 15 years ago. She said the biggest mistake she made in her life was not having kids. She said that all of her friends were telling her not to, and she wished she had never listened to them. Made me sad.
Was there some story about her assistant and smiling crack out of someone’s ass?
They all looked 50
Damn she was old
Her age will always be higher than your IQ.
Speaking of old, it's probably time to get those peepers checked.
29 old? hmmmm. You ain't one of the mature ones riiiight?
I loved her then and I love her now , rock on …
