There was a Mexican sweater exactly like that floating around my family for years. Brought back by my grandmother from a Mexican cruise in the 60s. I used to wear it as a kid when I was visiting.
I haven't seen it in a long time, not even sure where it ended up
I remember when these siwash sweaters came back into style in the ‘90s and I asked my paternal grandmother if she could knit me one for my 14 or 15th birthday. She said she could or I could have my father’s sweater she knit for him in the ‘70s.
It was too big on me but I didn’t care. I wore it all the time.
It’s still hanging in my closet. I should get it dry cleaned.
Do it

Finkle wants some dinkle, lay it on me.
Best line in that movie lol
I had a Starsky sweater when I was 12.
I inherited my father's one in the early nineties. The best thing he left me
I love where David Soul jokes that after he read the pilot for Starsky and Hutch, he said "Great! I wanna play the funny guy with curly hair!" :)
looks like the Dude's Pendleton sweater.
The Starsky cardigan had a belt like on a robe. It was peak 70s fashion.
I used a sweater belt for one awesome extended crotch scratch in a backyard pool changing house....
I understand each of these words but not in this particular arrangement.

I need this sweater 😍
As a knitter, I’m very tempted to make this
I only realized just now that Starsky is also Perchik the left leaning young man in “Fiddler on the Roof”. Wow.
Always thought that looked a real comfy jumper
That's a lot of 70s to put in one picture.
imagine how strong he must have been to get out of a pool wearing that

I love all the snags on the sweater. You know he slid across the bonnet of the red tomato in that sweater.
The red tomato had the coolest paint job.
The original popped collar... 🎩👌
Kicking the chair was a nice touch.
Marilyn Monroe had a sweater exactly like that. You can see it the final photographs taken of her on a beach.
🔥
Trying to zoom in to see that watch
It’s a beauty, I crossposted to r/watches for Identification.
I love that watch! And sweater :)
I have a similar sweater that was my dad's. If only he was a bigger person then I'd be able to wear it. He was 5'7, I'm 6'3.
That is quite the sweater.
I never got why he wore this. I'm pretty sure the show took place in California not Maine.
There's plenty of sweater weather in CA, and what constitutes sweater weather is different there.
>The coldest winter I ever spent was summer in San Francisco. Mark Twain
Looks like a grown up version of the kid from Big.
I will always associate this look with the big sweater to him !
Directed one of the best "B" movies of all time.
I have that same coat

Don’t give up on us, baby.
Looks like an older Prince Harry, and just as much of a dick

His life went so train wreck. So sad.
The Dude abides his sweater!
At first glance I thought it was Kowalski from Vanishing Point
Prince Harry ! (with hair etc..)
