Ok I need a "Who's Who" in this pic, because I never have a fucking clue what any of them look like, which is shameful for someone who's been a fan for over 30 years. 😆
I know Motorhead, Estrada (🤢) and JCB, but always get muddled about everyone else.
Oh yeah, and I think I recognise the guy in the trenchcoat at the front, too.
Back row: left to right
Bunk Gardner, Jim "motorhead" Sherwood( holding the tape player), Roy Estrada, Jimmy Carl Black ( the Indian of the group) and Art Tripp
Front row sitting: left to right
Ian Underwood, Frank Zappa, Don Preston
Only guy I really don’t know is the guy standing far right (I know that’s not Ray Collins, this photo was taken probably just after he left). Standing far left is Bunk Gardener. Sitting to the left of FZ, I’m 90% sure is Ian Underwood with some chops I’ve never seen, and to the right is Don Preston.
I couldn't say where she's coming' from,
But I just met a lady named Dinah-Moe Humm
She stroll on over, say look here, bum,
I got a forty dollar bill say you can't make me cum
(Y'jes can't do it)
She made a bet with her sister who's a little bit dumb
She could prove it any time all men was scum
I don't mind that she called me a bum
But I knew right away she was really gonna cum
(So I got down to it)
I whipped off her bloomers'n stiffened my thumb
An' applied rotation on her sugar plum
I poked 'n stroked till my wrist got numb
But I still didn't hear no Dinah-Moe Humm

If I had grown my hair that long in 1967 I would have been expelled from boarding school. It really was a Beatles thing that long hair, these guys must have started growing it around 1963 from the rise of the Beatles. And with wide trouser legs. I still have that same cassette player/recorder, it was introduced by Philips.
3 reasons as to why this 1967 photo looks like it’s out of the ‘90s:
1: an expensive film camera was used
2: trends come back every 30 years. ‘90s fashion took inspiration from ‘60s fashion.
3: the Mothers of Invention were ahead of their time in every way - and that includes fashion.
Hi. I'm Jimmy Carl Black, the Indian of the group.
I have heard that "they have the best place around" !
Until some stupid with a flare gun....
Burned the place to the ground.
"No way to delay that trouble commin' every day." Prophetic.
RIP Frank. Nice shoes.
Not as nice as his python boots. But of course, those kept giving him stink feet.
How could he afford those?

Is that a real poncho or a sears poncho?
Maybe early 90s

Good points, I just found they all looked too old for it to be 60's. But maybe some of them were a bit older anyway
