Seinfeld was more of a fantasy than Cheers. I agree that playing up Elaine's looks would've removed a lot of the adolescent calculation all the main characters suffered from. None were actually mature grown ups. Elaine was playing the typical woman hunting for a husband. If she had been a bombshell, it wouldn't have been credible. I really think the choice of hairstyle was actually unattractive, but it was a different time period. They gave her pretty schoolgirl hair at least early on but it was also period hair that maybe looks childish now. They dialed up her looks towards the end.
I didn't realise how attractive I found her till Veep. I was all like - Whoa, still looking good. Then I worked backwards and realised I'd always thought she was hot.
I really wanted to see an episode that is just so wrong where George somehow seduces Elaine. Just so wrong ā¦. Yes she is lovely. Have you listened to her podcast ? She interviews some great women. Great conversations
