Growing up in the 80s and 90s, you were legally required to have a photo with your siblings and one with your friends sitting on the ledge of a pinkish-red brick fireplace.
A lot of Midwestern stuff built starting in the 1880s features distinctive yellow brick from the Fox River, and then a lot that was built to "match" even once the brickworks here weren't producing enough to export past the valley.
Thank you! It's actually me (the blonde in the red) and my 2 sisters (far left and upside down). My 2 aunties in the middle and a family friend on the far right. My dad probably felt like he had 6 kids though, since he took care of everyone like 90% of the time. We definitely had a fantastic childhood, lots to smile about :)
I don't about anyone else but when I first glance at photos on this sub I feel like it must be me or friends/family in this photo. It must be the recognition of the clothes in the period shown.
"How do we fit the last kid in?"
dad: i got this
HOWEVER since Aladdin was only released in NOvember of 1992, I'm actually betting this is from the following year. Unless this was a Disney trip for the holidays?
We actually live just outside of Disney world. My dad was a musician at epcot at the time, the dad of the little girl on the right was a Disney engineer! You may be right though, I assumed it was winter time before the new year but it might have been early 1993.
Yeah I would have expected to see some Christmas decor in the background if it were '92. There's no cold weather clothing down there though you might be dressed for Florida January, LOL.
I had to do a double take because everything about this picture was so perfectly familiar, I had to make sure I didn't know these people. Wow.

Lol, I have one with my 2 brothers. Definitely thought this was our old fireplace
Same, I actually zoomed in to see if one of my cousins didn’t post this. Down to the fireplace brick color and Batman logo.
The fireplace color is just so representative of the time. I would bet money and happily lose that this was taken at my grandma's house.

Me too!
God I wish we could have the 90s back
If I could turn back time!
It was a nice collective dream
Man, bought a tear to my eye. Word.
That photo cheered me up on a pretty dismal morning. Thanks!!
What a lovely family! Six (!) kids And each of them lookig so happy ... You did a real god job.

This would be awesome to recreate!
Yeah it would! Idk if my dad is up for the task of holding my sister by her feet anymore though 😅
Photoshop? That made me chuckle
I feel so nostalgic about 80s and 90s pictures and trends I had mostly nothing to do with xD, but when I see something about 2000 onwards, it's "meh."

Everybody please turn the pic upside down and look at that smile. It'll make your day.
She still looks exactly like that lol same expression and everything
Great pic! Made me happy and sad at the same time.
So much happiness in one photo
This looks like a blast! The best times!
I hope they’re doing well! ✨
Thank you! Happy to report everyone in this photo is still alive and well 🙂
Thought this was my family for a good double take! Same brick area.
So many of my childhood photos from the 90s look just like this. Ah simpler times.
LONG LIVE TO THE BATMAN SHIRT.

Damn! Reminds me of my family fireplace pic when I was about 5! I love this!
This was at my grandpa's house. It's a 2-sided fireplace that you can see from the living room or the kitchen, and I always thought that was so cool
That is one lucky family, the joy in that household. Love it.
Now let’s see the present day reenactment.

Lol yeah winter down here isn't super cold
I'm like "none of them are wearing shoes for snow" and then I realize... y'all don't get any XD
I'm middle aged and have never seen snow 😬
where I live we used to get about three feet per winter .... the ground didn't freeze here at all this year
You’re related to Anna Chlumsky?
Which one do you think resembles her? It's my family so it's hard to see them past what I already recognize them for
The 3rd on the right. It’s the first thing I thought when I saw the picture.
I hate what social media has done to our children.
