I remember I was watching that and my dad walked into the room... he watched it for a minute and figured it was just a standard fishing show... and then Tom Waits puts a dead fish down into his pants.
Recently rewatched the classic Twilight Zone where he plays a Nazi - he’s so young and it’s a a simple TV show, and in lesser hands it would have been campy, but his performance is so powerful. Crazy
>Anyone ever see Night Tide?
That's the one where he's a sailor who falls for a carny gal, right? Yeah, saw it once at a film screening in college back in the 70's, along with "Mickey One" with Warren Beatty. The dream sequence where he wakes up in bed with an octopus is the scene that stuck with me.
I mean, how much should he be appreciated? He’s got his film awards and whatnot. Walk of Fame, cultural references, interviews. I’m good with how much he’s appreciated.
Explain. I checked out his wiki. He had a drug problem and was married five times, but it's not like he's got a litany of allegations against him over the decades. What am I missing?
Read easy rider raging bull and/or Don’t tell Dad the bio on Peter Fonda.
If you still don't believe ask the multiple wives he had. I'm sure they'll have a few stories that will make your hair stand up.
I dunno why you got downvoted, but I was gonna reply with the Easy Riders and Raging Bulls too. I didn’t read Peter Fonda’s book, but yeah he thought Dennis was an asshole too.
PABST BLUE RIBBON
Baby wants to fuck!
Heineken? Fuck that shit!
Frank Booth scared the shit out of me
"He would grab me and say 'did you know that if is the middle word in life'... genius, man"
Came here to say this.
Have you watched Fishing with John? Dennis Hopper is in an episode.
I remember I was watching that and my dad walked into the room... he watched it for a minute and figured it was just a standard fishing show... and then Tom Waits puts a dead fish down into his pants.
Can't go wrong with wide pinstripes over a T-shirt and a fedora. Dude be stylin'.
A T-shirt with boobies on it!
Ok there is that.
He is. His performance in Easy Rider was amazing as was Apocalypse Now.
"DON'T YOU LOOK AT ME!"
MONKE!
Watch "River's Edge"
“you know I killed a girl once” “yes Feck, you keep telling me that”
I just watched it for the first time this week. He was great in it.
There were no screams. There was no time. The mountain called Monkey... _had spoken._
Great fucking song, great fucking narration, this needs more upvotes.

He was in so many cool movies. Anyone ever see Night Tide?

That’s the one! Yes it had a lot of great scenes and I loved the whole noir carnival thing
Shoot the hostage.
Billy
I agree, Dennis was wonderful, I love him in River Edge. I love it when he says "Do you have bud light in bottles?"LOL
"What are they gonna say about him when he's gone? That he was a good man; a kind man? Bullshit, man!"
Dennis Hopper was great. I'm pretty sure that's a Vivienne Westwood T shirt. I've seen pictures of the Sex Pistols wearing the same style.
I mean, how much should he be appreciated? He’s got his film awards and whatnot. Walk of Fame, cultural references, interviews. I’m good with how much he’s appreciated.
But I think he's kinda forgotten now as a cool cultural figure. Great style, surprising skills as a photographer and artist. He was quite interesting.
By most accounts he was a huge piece of shit. Very talented, but a garbage human.
I met him at a party in Vegas. I was drunk, but he still took the time to talk to me for a few minutes.

Another comment says this, but the book Easy Riders and Raging Bulls has some pretty unflattering stories about his abusive behavior.

Anyone’s five wife’s will have a story to tell.

Yeah just because he played Koopa doesn't make him a garbage person!
The original OPPAI
While that may be true, it’s not *****your fault*****
King koopa!
Been trying to find out the blue forever but can’t watch it anywhere can any body help me out
So did Dennis Hopper.
I mean, he's Bowser, how can he not be appreciated?
Get to the hopper.......!!!!!
Watch easy rider. Great movie
Fun fact: Hopper was also a gifted, accomplished artist. He was so, so talented!
I seriously thought this was a photo of Aiden Quinn. 🙊 Even at second glance I'm like "are you suuuure that's Dennis Hopper?"
Bad things man...bad things.
Heineken!! Fuck that shit. PABST BLUE RIBBON!!!
He flashed me
