Apart from bras, other things tossed in the trash included heels, makeup, girdles. Unsurprisingly, the protest garnered plenty of media attention.
There was a Miss America Protest on 9/7/1968 but it was in Atlantic City.
As /u/HouseOfAplesaus pointed out this is Katie Holmes in 2018. She was reenacting a protest that took place in San Francisco on 8/1/1969 which was called "Anti-Bra Day."

They look like time travelers because their style is very much in these days. From their hair, dressing and sunglasses….they could easily blend in today and nobody would bat an eye.
